Chapter 110
Wen Xingxue had been relentlessly challenging Shen Wen’s dungeon lately.
If it were any other player, Shen Wen wouldn’t even bother showing up.
But it was that crazy, persistent Wen Xingxue.
Having cleared so many dungeons, his strength was undeniable. Most high-level dungeons were mere playgrounds for him.
Only when facing Shen Wen did his true, manic nature emerge.
Knife in hand, always ready for a fight.
Shen Wen, gritting his teeth, his usual elegant composure gone, consumed by the single-minded desire to kill Wen Xingxue,
had spent the past few days battling him relentlessly in the dungeon.
The moment they saw each other, they would attack,
disregarding the dungeon’s rules, their only goal to destroy each other.
Both had been injured, but Wen Xingxue, his human body unable to withstand the prolonged battle, had found a hidden clue and escaped first.
Shen Wen, also exhausted, lay in bed, holding Xing Nuo, his face filled with a strange contentment.
No matter what, he would be Xing Nuo’s only dad!
Coincidentally, Wen Xingxue was thinking the same thing.
Back in Central City, Wen Xingxue, lying on his hard bed in his small, dilapidated house, was still thinking about the dungeon.
Annoyed at his less-than-stellar performance, he closed his eyes, planning to visit Xing Nuo again in a few days.
The little one was growing fast and had even started learning a few simple foreign phrases.
Xing Nuo woke up, yawning, and saw his dad lying beside him.
Shen Wen lay on his side, his golden hair tousled, his brow slightly furrowed, his skin pale, as if he had never seen sunlight.
Xing Nuo picked up a strand of his dad’s long hair and stroked it, his eyes filled with envy.
Would he also have such long, pretty hair when he grew up?
He sighed softly, then saw Shen Yan enter, gesturing for him to be quiet.
Xing Nuo obediently covered his mouth, promising not to speak.
Shen Yan, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, his shirt stretched taut against his muscles, picked up Xing Nuo with one arm.
Xing Nuo, sitting on his brother’s arm, hugging his neck, looked back at his sleeping dad.
He held his breath until he was placed on the sofa, then exhaled.
“Daddy so tired.”
It was the first time he had seen his dad sleep in.
Usually, when Xing Nuo woke up, Shen Wen would already be outside, gardening or preparing breakfast.
Shen Yan hummed and, so as not to disturb Shen Wen, changed Xing Nuo’s clothes in the living room.
“You have art class today. I put your construction paper in your backpack.”
Xing Nuo, bending down to put on his socks, nodded obediently.
“Okay. I make pwetty snowflake!”
Autumn was fleeting, and the temperature in Rongcheng had been dropping steadily. Winter, and the first snow, was approaching.
The kindergarten had organized art classes, teaching the children how to make paper snowflakes and window decorations.
Xing Nuo, after finishing his breakfast, was bundled up in a thick jacket and a fluffy scarf by Shen Yan, looking like a little ball.
Shen Yan, holding his hand, felt like he was holding a small, fluffy balloon.
Xing Nuo, oblivious, his face peeking out from the scarf, kicked at the fallen leaves on the sidewalk as they walked.
Hearing the satisfying crunch, he looked up at his brother expectantly.
Shen Yan, forcing a smile, said, “Xing Nuo so clever.”
Xing Nuo beamed and started deliberately stepping on the leaves.
By the time they reached the kindergarten, his shoes and pants were covered in bits of leaves.
Shen Yan crouched down and brushed them off.
Xing Nuo, now embarrassed, also bent down, but, bundled up in his thick clothes, couldn’t reach his legs.
“Big Brother, I no step on leaves anymore.”
Shen Yan stood up, pinched his nose, and smiled.
“I’ll take you somewhere special after school.”
Xing Nuo hummed and, seeing Teacher Xiao Song waiting for him at the gate, waved and ran inside.
He bumped into Yiyi, who was also bundled up in warm clothes.
The two little ones waddled inside, squeezing through the doorway together.
Xing Nuo stumbled forward, grabbing his desk for support, and smiled at Yiyi.
Yiyi giggled and took off her blue and white scarf, showing it off to Xing Nuo.
“Xing Nuo, look! Mommy bought me my favorite bunny scarf!”
Xing Nuo nodded, his praise overflowing.
“So cute! Yiyi looks pwetty!”
Yiyi beamed, her cheeks flushed, and carefully put her scarf away in her locker.
Xing Nuo sat down, looking like a round, fluffy ball, radiating warmth.
He sipped his water, then looked up and saw Little Fatty waddling in, looking like a giant ball himself.
Little Fatty, already the largest child in the class, his chubby cheeks even more pronounced in his thick winter jacket, now looked like a giant rice ball.
Xing Nuo glanced at him, then looked away, put his water bottle away, and went to play checkers with the other children.
Teacher Xiao Song, after playing a game with them, clapped her hands and told them to take out their paper and learn how to make snowflakes.
“Today, we’re learning how to make snowflakes. You can put your finished snowflakes in your lockers or display them on your desks.”
Xing Nuo, having never done origami before, was excited. He took out his construction paper and carefully followed the teacher’s instructions.
Qingqing and Little Fatty, lacking patience, quickly gave up, their paper crumpled and tossed aside, and went to play with other toys.
Xing Nuo, however, remained focused, folding and unfolding the paper, and after almost an hour, he finally finished his snowflake.
It wasn’t as perfect as Teacher Xiao Song’s, but he held it up, his eyes shining with pride.
Prettiest snowflake in the world!
Qingqing, peeking over, her eyes wide with admiration, exclaimed, “Xing Nuo, your snowflake is so pretty!”
Xing Nuo smiled, a dimple appearing on his cheek, and carefully placed the snowflake in his locker.
“Yes. I give to Daddy.”
He would make paper window decorations and little ducks for his brothers later.
Qingqing, inspired, also tried to make a snowflake, but after much struggling, she gave up and tossed the crumpled paper in the trash.
With the colder weather, outdoor playtime was shorter.
By the time Xing Nuo, bundled up in his thick clothes, reached the slide, there was already a long line of children from other classes.
He waited patiently, then, gripping the railing, climbed to the top and slid down.
Before he knew it, he landed on his bottom with a thud.
Slightly dazed, he rubbed his bottom, looking at the slide, puzzled.
Why so fast today?
He patted the dust off his pants, thinking the slide must have gotten shorter somehow.
After only one ride, Teacher Xiao Song led the children back to the playroom.
“It’s too cold outside. Let’s play ‘Red Light, Green Light’ inside.”
Xing Nuo was quickly eliminated by Little Fatty again and sat on his stool, sipping his water.
Yiyi, who didn’t like that game, was still trying to make a snowflake. After much effort, she finally succeeded and happily took Xing Nuo to put it in her locker.
But when she opened her locker, she froze.
“Where’s my scarf?”
She had worn her new blue and white bunny scarf for the first time today.
Xing Nuo also peeked inside the locker, which only contained her backpack.
“Yiyi, you put in wrong locker? Or…other child took it?”
Yiyi’s eyes filled with tears, and she stomped her foot.
“That my…favorite scawf! Waaah!”
Xing Nuo patted her back and took her to Teacher Xiao Song.
“Teacher, Yiyi’s scawf gone!”
Teacher Xiao Song, her brow furrowed, helped Yiyi search the nearby lockers, but they couldn’t find the scarf.
Xing Nuo put his water bottle away in his own locker, then, wanting to help Yiyi, opened it and froze.
“My snowflake!”
The locker, designed for children, only had two shelves.
Xing Nuo, his head inside the locker, searched carefully, but couldn’t find his snowflake.
Other children also started exclaiming:
“My toy bunny gone! Waaah!”
“Who took my cwayons?!”
The classroom descended into chaos, Teacher Xiao Song trying to comfort the children, her face filled with confusion.
“How can so many things be missing?”
And they weren’t even valuable items. Xing Nuo’s mermaid doll was a limited edition, much more expensive.
Why were these other things missing?
Little Fatty, remembering a detective show he had been watching with his mom, his face serious, declared:
“I know! We have a thief!”
The children gasped, their voices filled with indignation.
“Thief so bad!”
“Who’s the thief? We find him?”
Little Fatty, feeling like a detective, puffed out his chest.
“Don’t worry, everyone! Detective Little Fatty will find the truth!”
As the children chattered excitedly, Teacher Xiao Song went to find the principal. Xing Nuo, standing to the side, looked around.
“Who’s there?”
A voice echoed in the air, making him turn his head.
Wen Xingxue, wearing clean clothes, a smile on his usually cold face, his form flickering, reached out and ruffled Xing Nuo’s hair.
“Xing Nuo, remember me?”
Xing Nuo nodded, then took a couple of steps back, his eyes wary.
“I wemember. You’re the monster!”
He had heard this monster’s voice at home and at the school playground before!
“Did you steal everyone’s things?!”
