The Whole Family Are Villains, I’m the Group Pet 126

Chapter 126

Xing Nuo, wearing his snow boots, excitedly ran towards the playground.

But his enthusiasm was short-lived. His feet slipped on the icy ground, and he landed on his bottom with a thud.

“Oof!”

He shook his head, little stars dancing before his eyes, rubbed his bottom, and got back up.

A friend, turning back to see him fall, called out:

“Xing Nuo, hurry up! The other kids will take all the good spots!”

Xing Nuo nodded, his nose red, his fluffy hat askew, and hopped forward, one leg still slightly sore.

By the time he reached the sandbox, the heart of the playground, his friends were already facing off against another group of children.

“This is our spot! We were here yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that!”

The other child, a large, bear-like boy, much older than Xing Nuo and his friends, his voice booming, making Xing Nuo’s ears ring, glared at them.

Qiao Qiao, Xing Nuo’s friend and the usual leader of their group, put her hands on her hips and retorted angrily:

“You liar! We always play here! We’ve never seen you before!”

The bear-like boy, using his height to his advantage, simply bumped Qiao Qiao, sending her sprawling.

Qiao Qiao, caught off guard, lay there, dazed.

Xing Nuo, rushing over, helped her up and glared at the boy, his cheeks puffed out with anger.

“Why you push? Little Bear, that’s not polite!”

The boy, his face turning red, yelled:

“I’m not Little Bear! I’m Yao Sheng!”

Xing Nuo thought “Little Bear” was a better name. He was big and fluffy, and he charged like a bear.

“Hmph, you bully. I no call you by name.”

He pulled Qiao Qiao back, avoiding another collision.

Yao Sheng, frustrated that he hadn’t managed to knock Xing Nuo down, his face even redder now, yelled:

“You’re so annoying!”

Xing Nuo, not knowing any curse words, but having learned a trick from Qingqing, retorted:

“Reflect! Reflect!”

Whatever Yao Sheng said, Xing Nuo just told him to “reflect,” making the boy’s face turn even redder, almost purple.

Unable to win the verbal sparring match, but still having the advantage in size, Yao Sheng simply claimed the best spot in the sandbox, chasing Xing Nuo and his friends away.

“Get out! This is our spot now!”

“Yeah! Bleh!”

Xing Nuo and Qiao Qiao, dejected, went to the slide on the other side of the playground, not even feeling like building a snowman anymore.

“The sandbox has the best snow. Little Bear so mean!”

“I heard Xiao Hao and his friends were also chased away from the swings.”

Xing Nuo sighed, his face in his hands, listlessly scooping up some snow with his small shovel.

“Little Bear like Little Fatty…both bad-tempered.”

Spoiled by their families, their every whim catered to, they had become self-centered bullies.

Little Fatty’s parents, realizing that even the most well-behaved child in his class, Xing Nuo, didn’t like playing with him, had sent him to a strict boarding school.

But Yao Sheng’s parents were even worse.

Qiao Qiao, whispering in Xing Nuo’s ear, said:

“Last time, Xiao Hao argued with Little Bear, and Little Bear’s parents went to Xiao Hao’s house and yelled at them!”

Xing Nuo’s eyes widened in surprise.

“But…but Little Bear took Xiao Hao’s swing! Why yell at Xiao Hao?”

Qiao Qiao, two years older than Xing Nuo, and thus more worldly, shrugged.

“Because they’re unreasonable.”

Xing Nuo soon experienced this “unreasonableness” himself.

He was enjoying his lunch, the warm tofu soup chasing away the chill from playing in the snow,

when a loud banging on the door and angry shouts startled him.

“Shen! Get out here!”

“If you’re home, come out! Why did your kid insult my son?!”

The loud shouts echoed through the hallway, and Lin Ke, their upstairs neighbor, home from university for the holidays, a sausage dangling from his mouth, walked downstairs, frowning.

“What’s going on here?”

Yao Sheng’s parents, their arms crossed, glared at him and spat.

“None of your business! Get lost!”

Shen Wen opened the door, his light-colored eyes filled with a barely concealed rage.

“What do you want?”

Yao Sheng’s parents, new to the complex, were seeing Shen Wen for the first time.

His pale golden hair, smooth and silky, framing his fair face, his light-colored eyes, his entire being radiating a cold, captivating beauty, made Xiao Xiong’s mom pause, then she snorted and said:

“What do we want? Your son insulted my son! Such a rude child! It’s your fault for not teaching him any manners!”

Shen Wen’s voice was cold and indifferent.

“What did Xing Nuo say to your son?”

Yao Sheng, his chubby face red with anger, stepped forward and lied:

“He said I was annoying and told me to get lost!”

Xing Nuo, running over, furious, stomped his foot, but, his vocabulary limited, couldn’t think of a suitable retort.

“I didn’t! You’re lying!”

Shen Wen ruffled Xing Nuo’s hair, pulled him behind him, and said, his voice nonchalant:

“So what? Was he wrong? You are annoying.”

He didn’t bother being polite, his voice, although not as loud as Yao Sheng’s parents’, carrying an undeniable authority.

“Get lost. Instead of slinking away after being called annoying, you came here to be insulted again? How amusing.”

Yao Sheng’s parents, having never encountered such a dismissive parent, started cursing, their faces red with anger.

Their language was foul, and Shen Wen covered Xing Nuo’s ears, his face filled with disgust.

When they finally paused, panting, Shen Wen looked up at them coldly.

“Finished?”

Yao Sheng’s parents, thinking he was intimidated, their chins held high, pulled Yao Sheng’s hand.

“No one bullies my son! Tell your son to stay away from him!”

Shen Wen, removing his hand from Xing Nuo’s ears, much to their surprise, punched them both, sending them sprawling.

He effortlessly pinned them to the ground, punching them repeatedly, not holding back, his blows landing squarely on their faces.

He was fighting two against one, and they couldn’t even defend themselves.

Their cries of pain and angry curses echoed through the hallway.

Lin Ke, the naive university student upstairs, watching this, could only exclaim, “Whoa! Awesome!”

He had thought the father and son downstairs were delicate and fragile. He hadn’t expected them to be so fierce!

Never judge a book by its cover!

Shen Wen, having had enough, stopped. Yao Sheng’s parents, their faces bruised and swollen, but still refusing to apologize, struggled to their feet and spat at Shen Wen and Xing Nuo.

“Just you wait!”

They then hurried away, dragging the crying, bewildered Yao Sheng with them.

Xing Nuo ran over and hugged his dad’s arm, rubbing his bruised knuckles.

“Daddy no owie, no owie!”

Shen Wen, pushing his hair back, a cold smile playing on his lips, said:

“I’m fine.”

He had held back, though. It hadn’t been as satisfying as he had hoped.

He crouched down, pinched Xing Nuo’s cheek, and said:

“Don’t be afraid of people like that. If they bully you, tell Daddy or Big Brother. They’re just paper tigers. Once they’re beaten up, they’ll learn their lesson.”

Xing Nuo nodded, his voice sweet.

“When I gwow up…I be stwong like Daddy…no talk…just fight!”

Lin Ke, who had come down to help, gasped, his forehead covered in sweat, thinking, That’s some parenting.

Lin’s mom, upstairs, sighed and said:

“I heard that family has connections. Someone in their family used to be a boxing coach or something. No one in the complex dares to mess with them.”

Xing Nuo, his faith in his dad and brothers’ strength unwavering, shook his head.

“It’s okay, Auntie Lin. My Daddy vewy stwong. They can’t defeat him.”

Lin’s mom, still worried, wanted to say something, but seeing Shen Wen’s unconcerned expression, she just sighed.

“Be careful. If you can’t handle them, tell Lin Ke. He can take a few hits.”

Lin Ke’s lips twitched. Thanks, Mom.

Meanwhile, Yao Sheng’s parents, their faces bruised and swollen, were fuming, having overturned their coffee table in their anger.

“We can’t let this go!”

“Call my cousin! I don’t believe that bitch can defeat him!”

“Yes! We won’t tolerate this! We’ll make that family move out!”

They grabbed their phones, found their cousin’s number, and pushed Yao Sheng, who was still crying, aside.

“Go cry somewhere else! Mommy is busy…”

Just then, they saw a shadowy figure coalescing in their living room.

The dark figure, hovering in mid-air, menacing and eerie, gradually took the form of Shen Wen.

“Ah! A ghost!”

Yao Sheng’s parents screamed, recognizing Shen Wen, their bodies trembling.

But they still yelled, grabbing a clothes hanger, and waving it at him.

“What are you?! Get out of our house!”

The shadow, like a liquid, flowed towards them, its smile cold and sinister.

“Weren’t you just calling someone to get revenge on me? What, scared now?”

Yao Sheng’s mom screamed, dropping her phone.

Seeing them huddled together, trembling, the shadow suddenly lashed out, hitting the ceiling light.

The light shattered, plunging the room into darkness.

The thick, inky blackness swallowed them.

Before they could even react, they felt a sharp sting on their faces, several slaps landing in rapid succession.
