The Whole Family Are Villains, I’m the Group Pet 34

Chapter 34

The buzz-cut player was the strongest and most respected among the players.

When she spoke, the others, though still fuming, reluctantly stopped arguing.

The female newbie, her emotions barely contained, looked like she was about to breathe fire.

“I risked my life to get this soup from the little master, even offending the cook! Eat it or don’t!”

If the monsters attacked again tonight, and without Big Boss Wen Xingxue to protect them, she might be the first to be torn apart by the cook!

Having taken such a risk, she would drink the soup even if it was poisoned!

The male player’s face was swollen, his eyes bulging, his expression distorted and unnatural.

He had been antagonizing everyone for the past two days, seemingly oblivious to it.

He stood up unsteadily, bared his teeth, glared at the others, and snorted.

“I’m not drinking it! The soup theory is just a guess! There’s a faster way!”

The buzz-cut player, whose arm had been injured by this blue-shirted man, looked at him coldly, watching him self-destruct.

The blue-shirted player grinned, his expression unsettling.

“Buzz-cut, you took the rose and nothing happened. So, the rose is the antidote, right?!”

The buzz-cut player didn’t bother answering. Every player had their own life-saving props. Why should she reveal her hand?

The blue-shirted player, taking her silence as agreement, his skin swollen and his mind clearly unstable, his gait unsteady, continued.

“I just saw the castle master and the little master go upstairs. They won’t be back down for a while. This is the perfect opportunity to pick some roses!”

He walked towards the door, panting.

“The servants disappear for a few minutes before nightfall. We just need to seize that moment! There are hundreds of roses in the garden. Do you think the monsters will notice a few missing?!”

His words were surprisingly logical.

The players who had suspected the rose had a special purpose felt a flicker of temptation.

The buzz-cut player’s normal behavior after receiving the rose was too unusual among them!

A chubby male player opened his mouth, clearly tempted.

But he was pulled back by a fellow guild member.

The guild member, who had a prop to control his emotions, shook his head silently.

The blue-shirted player, reaching the door, his swollen body making him breathless, looked back at the others and sneered.

“Cowards! Too scared to even go near a flower garden!”

That little brat Xing Nuo had been in and out of the garden so many times, and nothing had happened to him.

Perhaps the garden’s danger was just a facade put up by the monsters!

The blue-shirted player left.

The remaining players sat in silence, waiting for nightfall. Just before darkness fell, they clenched their fists, closed their eyes, and drank the small bowls of soup.

The moment they swallowed, the dungeon sky instantly turned dark.

In the second-floor bathroom.

Xing Nuo hadn’t been carried upstairs by his dad, but since he had held his hand, he decided to be magnanimous and not hold a grudge!

He skipped into the en-suite bathroom and tried to pull his shirt over his head.

But his fluffy curls got stuck in the neckline.

His head covered by the shirt, his vision filled with the light color of the fabric, he flailed his arms blindly.

“Daddy! Help Zaizai!” Xing Nuo cried, shaking his head frantically.

Shen Wen, who had just finished running the bath, turned and saw the little one spinning around like a headless chicken.

He sighed and went over to pull the shirt off Xing Nuo’s head.

Xing Nuo’s vision cleared, and he sighed in relief, patting his chest.

“That was close!”

Almost got Zaizai’s head eaten by the shirt monster!

Shen Wen sighed again and picked up the dirty little one, whom he normally wouldn’t touch, and placed him in the warm bathwater.

The clear water immediately turned murky.

Xing Nuo, half his face submerged, blinked, slightly embarrassed.

The warm water made his face flush, his whole body turning a rosy pink.

Shen Wen chuckled and poked his warm, soft cheek.

“Now you’re embarrassed?”

Xing Nuo huffed and, forgetting he was in the water, took a gulp of bathwater.

“Ptooey!” He stuck out his tongue, grabbed the edge of the tub, and sat up.

His wet curls clung to his face and mouth, and he quickly brushed them away.

“Daddy, Zaizai dwink dirty water…get sick?”

He looked up at his dad, his watery eyes wide with concern.

Shen Wen, having never raised a human cub before, didn’t know the answer.

“I don’t know. Ask your dad.”

He knew that the little one and the players were from a different timeline.

The “Daddy” Xing Nuo was referring to was his future self.

But Xing Nuo, his eyes reflecting the shimmering water, tilted his head, confused.

“You Zaizai’s Daddy!”

The scent, the appearance, the touch, the skin…it was all his familiar Daddy!

Except for the bad memory!

Shen Wen paused and rubbed his forehead.

“I…”

He wanted to say that he wasn’t his dad.

His real dad was probably in the future, in a different timeline, but definitely not him.

Shen Wen wouldn’t raise a child.

The responsibility was too great. He was just a monster, without even a real heart. How could he shoulder such a burden?

He looked down at the child’s clear, innocent eyes and, for some reason, couldn’t bring himself to say it.

It’s only for a few days anyway.

“Let’s get you washed up. It’ll be dark soon.”

Shen Wen picked up the bottle of bath soap the butler had prepared, removed the cap, and squeezed out a large amount.

Xing Nuo, splashing his feet in the tub, his eyes wide, said:

“Daddy, no squeeze so much! Make lots of bubbles!”

He made a large circle with his hands.

“Bubbles eat bathroom…Zaizai…and Daddy!”

Shen Wen, looking at the soap in his hand, frowned and clicked his tongue.

“Human bathing is so troublesome.”

He poured some of the soap back into the bottle and looked up.

“Is this okay?”

Xing Nuo nodded, then gasped softly, resting his cheek against the edge of the tub, his eyes reflecting the light.

“Daddy so amazing!”

Xing Nuo, who loved giving compliments, swung his little feet and leaned closer to his dad.

“Daddy wash Zaizai…make clean!”

Shen Wen’s lips curved into a smile, which he tried to suppress, his light-colored eyes softening.

“Little dirty cub.”

Xing Nuo protested softly. “Soon be…clean and fragrant cub~”

Shen Wen walked over, no longer arguing, and started washing Xing Nuo.

Having never bathed a human child before, his movements were clumsy, and he accidentally got some soap in Xing Nuo’s eye.

Xing Nuo squeezed his eye shut, trying to wipe it away, but only made it worse.

The bath was a clumsy, uncoordinated affair.

Shen Wen, looking at the finally clean little one, sighed in relief, feeling more exhausted than after inspecting his manor.

He wrapped Xing Nuo in a large towel and placed him on the bed.

“So demanding.”

It had taken him forever to get the little one clean.

Xing Nuo, wrapped in the towel, smelling the fragrant soap on his skin, giggled.

He rolled around on the bed, then coughed slightly, his weak body sensitive to the sudden change in temperature.

The flush on his cheeks hadn’t faded, either from the warm bath or the cool air.

Shen Wen, exasperated, rolled up his wet sleeves and pinched Xing Nuo’s cheek.

“Why are you so troublesome? Don’t tell me you’re getting sick again after just a bath.”

He knew human children were fragile, but not this fragile!

Xing Nuo, his head slightly dizzy after the bath, his earlier cheerfulness gone, mumbled:

“Daddy, Zaizai no sick.”

If he got sick, Daddy would make him drink bitter medicine, and the unfamiliar doctor would poke his bottom!

Shen Wen, looking at the little one’s flushed cheeks, noticed that his skin was slightly warmer than usual.

He withdrew his hand, his brow furrowed, thinking the little one might actually be sick.

His heart sank. He racked his brain, but he had no idea how to deal with a sick human, especially a human child.

He wrapped Xing Nuo in a blanket.

“I think humans take medicine when they’re sick. I’ll go downstairs and see if we have any. Stay here and don’t run around.”

Xing Nuo mumbled in agreement, his face buried in the blanket.

“Zaizai always good.”

Shen Wen, hearing this, his usually cold expression softened for a moment.

It was true. He wondered how his future self had managed to raise such a well-behaved child.

Although he looked frail, easily tired and prone to illness.

But Xing Nuo’s bright, cheerful spirit was warmer than the sun.

Shen Wen, his eyes half-closed, instinctively reached out and gently stroked the little one’s head.

Xing Nuo, feeling the warmth and gentleness in his dad’s touch, smiled softly.

Daddy remembers Zaizai again!

Until one day, he discovered the knife his dad carried when going out was stained with red blood. Eerie wails often drifted from the company his older brother ran, and his chuunibyou second brother could actually punch ghosts and monsters with his bare hands. A transparent "other" member also joined the family, coaxing Xing Nuo to call him Grandpa. Xing Nuo was scared. Holding a small wooden sword, revealing his neat little baby teeth, he let out a "Hiya!" and, standing on tiptoe, poked, poked, poked at the monster.
