Chapter 44
Hearing the system announcement, the monster teacher had only one thought:
What the—?!
How could the exam time actually be extended?
What was wrong with this dungeon’s boss?!
The teacher’s flickering form hovered in the air, a mixture of anger and bewilderment.
This school dungeon was a large survival-type dungeon composed of classrooms, a sports field, a library, and other school facilities.
The monster teacher had infiltrated the school, hoping to take advantage of the dungeon’s setup and snack on a few humans.
Despite his arrogance and swagger in front of the human students, he was nothing compared to the dungeon boss.
If he remembered correctly, this school dungeon’s boss was an S-level monster.
It had been replaced so easily?
How terrifying must the new boss be?!
A flurry of emotions flashed across the monster teacher’s stiff face, but, not daring to disobey, he gritted his teeth and endured.
“Fine, since the exam time has been extended, you get another half hour!”
He glared at Shen Baizhou, who was still struggling with the problems, and stomped back to the front of the class.
The students, their faces dazed, all looked at Shen Baizhou.
The PE representative gasped, stunned.
“Dude, how did you do that?!”
The exam time had actually been changed!
Shen Baizhou, having finally solved the first problem, carefully wrote down the answer and smiled confidently.
He looked up, noticing the other students staring at him, and frowned.
“What are you looking at?”
He then realized. “Don’t tell me you want to copy my answers?”
Even if he was a poor student, Shen Baizhou wouldn’t let anyone copy his hard work!
He frowned and covered his answer, much to the other students’ annoyance.
“Who wants to copy your answers?! I’m already on the tenth problem!”
“Shen Baizhou, you just talked back to the teacher like that? And nothing happened?!”
As the other students looked at him with curiosity and confusion, Shen Baizhou carefully covered his answer and continued working on the problems.
Someone was already on the tenth problem!
He had just finished the first!
In the kindergarten classroom.
The monster teacher, standing at the front, having heard the system announcement, chuckled dismissively.
“Alright, children, let’s begin our lesson!”
The moment he finished speaking, the children’s cries erupted again, louder than before.
The teacher frowned, irritated.
The little brats were crying non-stop before the lesson even started!
The chubby boy next to Xing Nuo was especially loud, his wails like a siren, drowning out the other children’s cries.
“I want Grandma! I want Mommy! Waaaaah!”
He wiped his tears, and, unable to leave his chair, he stood up, his bottom still glued to the seat.
Xing Nuo’s eyes widened, and he gasped softly.
“Chubby, you so amazing!”
The chubby boy, hearing the compliment, turned and, seeing it was Xing Nuo, whom he disliked, huffed and waddled to the door, his chair still attached to his bottom.
The monster teacher, caught off guard, watched as the other children imitated the chubby boy, standing up with their chairs and trying to escape.
“What’s happening?! Stop right there!” he yelled.
Xing Nuo, wanting to find Teacher Xiao Song and Daddy, waddled towards the door, his small chair attached to his bottom like a turtle shell.
The monster teacher, exasperated, chuckled coldly.
“This stupid dungeon! My powers are suppressed in the human world, and now I’m being outsmarted by a bunch of brats!”
If this were the monster world, these little things wouldn’t even be able to stand, let alone run!
The children were running around the classroom, their chairs attached to their bottoms.
The monster teacher tried to catch them, but they were slippery as eels, wriggling free from his grasp.
Xing Nuo, seeing the teacher’s angry face, stood at the door and yelled:
“Bad teacher catching children!”
The children, hearing this, became even more excited, running towards the door.
The monster teacher roared:
“Stop! Just wait until class is over!”
The dungeon rules forbade teachers from punishing students before the end of class.
But the lesson hadn’t even started yet, and he couldn’t even keep these brats in their seats, let alone punish them!
Xing Nuo and the chubby boy squeezed through the doorway.
Outside, the bright sunlight was gone, replaced by a dark, moonless sky.
The kindergarten’s cheerful, colorful hallway had become a dilapidated corridor, the walls covered in damp moss and peeling paint.
The chubby boy, his nose running, stared at the dark school outside, his mouth agape.
Xing Nuo looked around, but all he could see was a dilapidated teaching building across the way, its windows brightly lit.
Inside each classroom, students in strange clothes were either scratching their heads or on the verge of tears, taking tests.
This entire school, from a single classroom to the entire building, was part of the dungeon.
The chubby boy, scared, took a step back.
“This not our kindygarten!”
Xing Nuo also felt a surge of fear and sniffled.
The monster teacher caught up to them, his voice cold.
“Little ones, it’s not safe out here. Better to come back to my class and be eaten by me than be discovered by other monster teachers!”
He grinned, licking his lips, his mouth almost watering.
“I’ve never eaten children like you before. You must be delicious!”
The monster teacher hadn’t expected this dungeon to involve children!
Xing Nuo, shrinking his neck, took a step forward.
He wasn’t going to be caught by this bad teacher!
He was going to find Daddy and Big Brother and make them chase the bad teacher away!
While the monster teacher was busy catching the other children, Xing Nuo, his chair still attached to his bottom, ran out of the classroom.
“Get back here!” the monster teacher roared.
Xing Nuo didn’t listen.
If he was caught, he would be eaten!
He ran down the left corridor, his small figure swallowed by the darkness.
Even though the classrooms next door were lit, the hallway was pitch black, eerily so.
The chubby boy, seeing Xing Nuo run away, frozen in fear, didn’t dare move.
He was too scared to follow.
Xing Nuo, who looked like a weak little girl, was the bravest one in the class.
The chubby boy was easily caught and dragged back to the classroom by the monster teacher.
The hallway wasn’t long, but it felt like forever before Xing Nuo reached the next classroom.
He wanted to find Teacher Xiao Song to deal with the bad teacher. He stood at the doorway, his chair on his back, and peeked inside.
Inside the classroom.
Several players, surrounded by monster students, their foreheads sweating, were frantically working on a test.
They had one hour to answer three questions correctly to clear the dungeon.
Having explored the principal’s office during the day, they had exchanged information and could only answer two of the questions!
“Damn it! I remember now! The principal’s introduction was hanging in the hallway!”
But during the day, they had focused on the office and hadn’t paid attention to the introduction hanging on the wall!
But now they were taking the test and couldn’t leave the classroom!
“Ahhh, what do we do?! How many generations of monster students has this principal taught?!”
As they racked their brains, trying to remember, they looked up and saw a human child standing at the door.
“Holy crap?! Am I seeing things?! Why is there a human child out there?!”
All the monster students turned to stare at Xing Nuo.
Xing Nuo, startled by their creepy gazes, shrank back.
He peeked inside, saw no sign of his brother or Teacher Xiao Song, and turned to leave.
Just as he took a step, a voice called out from inside the classroom.
“Kid! Wait!”
Xing Nuo turned back, looking at the players, his voice soft.
“What?”
A player, trying to stay calm, swallowed and took a deep breath.
“Kid, what are you doing here? Can you help us look at the principal’s introduction in the blue frame on the wall outside?”
Another player’s eyes lit up, then dimmed.
“How old are you? Can you read?”
Xing Nuo shook his head, then nodded.
He had learned some characters at kindergarten.
But he didn’t know many, only numbers up to ten.
“Zaizai count to ten!”
The players sighed, exchanging glances.
A female player gritted her teeth and took a gamble.
“Little boy, while the monster teacher isn’t here, can you tell us all the numbers in the blue frame?”
The principal’s introduction would definitely mention how many generations of students he had taught, and it would be written in numbers!
They could only hope that the number wasn’t too high, something the little one could recognize!
Xing Nuo tilted his head, looked at the dark hallway, and shook his head.
“Too dark. Zaizai can’t see.”
The female player took out a prop flashlight from her bag and tossed it to Xing Nuo.
“This flashlight is pretty good. It should light up the hallway.”
Afraid Xing Nuo wouldn’t help, or that he might be some kind of monster in disguise, she added an incentive.
“Tell us the numbers, and we’ll trade you a prop!”
