The Whole Family Are Villains, I’m the Group Pet 46

Chapter 46

A strange silence fell over Shen Baizhou’s classroom.

The monster teacher, his hands trembling as he held the textbook, stood at the podium, black smoke seeping from his forehead, his lips quivering.

“…Th-This question…uses…the concepts from…chapter one…we…we can first…calculate the velocity…”

Under Shen Baizhou’s menacing gaze from the back row, the monster teacher wanted to eat the textbook.

Why did he have to study even as a monster?!

He only knew how to grade tests using the answer key; he didn’t actually know how to solve these problems!

Shen Baizhou, frowning, flipped through his physics test paper, increasingly frustrated.

The other students, sensing something was amiss, glanced at him nervously, not daring to speak.

Finally, unable to bear the monster teacher’s stumbling, error-filled explanations any longer, Shen Baizhou interrupted him.

“You don’t know how to teach. Get another teacher.”

He wasn’t going to let anything interfere with his physics lesson this morning!

The monster teacher, as if granted a reprieve, nodded and quickly scurried out of the classroom without looking back.

Xing Nuo opened the firefly box and, looking at the small, glowing firefly hovering in front of him, his eyes widened in surprise.

Following the instructions the stranger had given him, he clasped his hands together and thought:

Dad! Brother! Teacher Xiao Song!

The firefly flickered, its light dimming as it faced a barrage of names.

Xing Nuo, seeing the motionless firefly, tilted his head and poked it with his finger.

“Why…not moving?”

He poked it again. “Fly…take Zaizai…find people…”

But the firefly remained still, its faint, warm glow flickering as if about to extinguish.

Xing Nuo scratched his chin, thought for a moment, then patted his head, letting out a small “Oh!”

“Remember now…need…think name!”

He tried to remember, but his mind was blank.

What was Dad’s name?

And Teacher Xiao Song? Was her name just Xiao Song?

He blinked, and a spark of recognition flashed in his eyes.

He remembered! His brother’s name was Shen Baizhou!

Dad had yelled at him at the dinner table after he got a 7 on his chemistry test:

“Shen Baizhou, are you an idiot?!”

Remembering the only name he could, Xing Nuo quickly thought:

Shen Baizhou!

The little firefly, receiving the correct signal, its light brightening, flickered and flew down the corridor.

Xing Nuo, holding the flashlight, hurried after it.

The corridor outside the classroom was dark, the black air like a thick, all-consuming liquid.

Only the small area illuminated by his flashlight had a faint glow.

Xing Nuo walked with his head down. After what felt like a long time, he reached the next classroom.

Inside, everyone seemed to be engaged in some kind of chaotic struggle, tearing and biting at each other.

Fortunately, the firefly didn’t stop, and Xing Nuo, not looking inside, continued down the hallway.

He reached the end of the corridor.

The firefly hovered at the top of the stairs, as if waiting for him to catch up.

But going down the stairs wasn’t easy for Xing Nuo, especially with the small wooden chair still attached to his bottom.

Xing Nuo frowned, thought for a moment, then lay down on his stomach and started crawling down the stairs backward, his bottom in the air.

He gripped the edge of each step, his little feet dangling in mid-air for a moment before finding purchase.

After much effort, his forehead covered in sweat, he straightened up and sighed.

He hadn’t even reached the next floor, and he was already exhausted. He sat down on his chair to rest.

Wiping his sweat, he smiled.

Good thing he had brought his little chair!

Otherwise, climbing the stairs would be so tiring, with nowhere to rest!

After resting for a bit, he stood up and continued his descent.

Following the firefly, he went down two floors.

Finally, the firefly stopped on the third floor.

Xing Nuo watched as it floated down the corridor, wiped his sweat, and sighed in relief.

His brother was a high school student, so he must be in one of these classrooms!

He walked down the corridor, the sound of his little slippers echoing in the quiet night.

Suddenly, he felt himself being lifted by the back of his collar.

“Let’s see, what little creature have we here?”

A female teacher with black-framed glasses, her face stern, despite the darkness of the corridor, clearly saw Xing Nuo’s face.

“Oh my, a human cub!”

The monster teacher licked her lips, her mouth watering, wanting to devour the little one in a single gulp.

“Such a pity, your instance doesn’t seem to be connected to this school.”

Xing Nuo’s kindergarten had only been partially consumed by the energy from the horror world.

Therefore, his instance wasn’t connected to the others, and the horror world monsters couldn’t directly sense or consume him.

Only after all the humans in the partially consumed areas perished would those parts of the real world become fully integrated into the horror world.

The monster teacher’s face lit up with a malicious glee.

“Oh, but when our school consumes more people…”

She trailed off, her laughter unsettling.

Xing Nuo couldn’t see her face, but hearing her strange laughter, he struggled, kicking his little feet.

“Let me go!”

The little firefly continued flying down the corridor, not waiting for Xing Nuo.

Watching it fly away, Xing Nuo’s eyes widened anxiously, kicking his feet.

He still had to find his brother!

He struggled, but the monster teacher’s grip was too strong. She lifted him and turned back.

“I know who you are. You’re the little one who escaped from class earlier, aren’t you? Such a naughty child, skipping class.”

A hint of envy flickered in her eyes.

“This instance, merged with the human world, actually has such a tender little cub. I should have fought for this assignment!”

But all she could do now was reluctantly carry the little cub back to the male monster teacher’s classroom.

As they reached the stairs, Xing Nuo struggled even harder.

Suddenly, the grip on his collar loosened, and he fell to the ground with a thud.

He landed on his knees, the skin scraping painfully.

He slowly got up, clutching his knees, tears welling up in his eyes, and rubbed them with his small hand.

But the female teacher’s pained cries were much louder.

She had been thrown against the wall and now lay slumped on the floor, semi-conscious.

Just as Xing Nuo was about to take this opportunity to escape, a cheerful voice called out:

“Xing Nuo!”

Xing Nuo’s flashlight had fallen to the ground. He picked it up and shone it on the approaching figure.

His eyes widening, he shook his head slightly.

“Who…you? I don’t know…you…”

The little zombie wore a large hoodie he’d gotten from somewhere and grinned, running towards Xing Nuo excitedly.

“Xing Nuo, don’t you remember me?”

The little zombie he had met in the zombie instance, his face pale and bloodless under the flashlight.

But his speech was much clearer now, his movements no longer stiff like a typical zombie.

He walked over to Xing Nuo, a wide smile revealing his small, sharp teeth.

“I’m Lu Qi.”

Xing Nuo didn’t remember the little zombie who had helped him escape the zombie horde. Seeing the little monster introduce himself, he replied politely:

“I’m Xing Nuo. Do you know me?”

Lu Qi nodded vigorously, his black hair bouncing.

“Yes! Xing Nuo, what are you doing here?”

He remembered Xing Nuo being carried away by a large monster, leaving the horror instance.

He had wanted to follow, but his body had been too damaged, and he could only watch helplessly as Shen Baizhou took Xing Nuo away.

Later, he learned that the monster was Xing Nuo’s older brother, so he wasn’t worried about his safety.

He took Xing Nuo’s hand and asked again:

“Why are you here?”

Shouldn’t he be back in the human world?

Xing Nuo, too young to explain his current situation, just continued rubbing his knee.

“I…I don’t know…but I…need…find…brother!”

The bad teacher was bullying the children, and he needed to find his brother to rescue them!

Lu Qi’s dark eyes lit up.

“I’ll help you find him!”

He was overjoyed to see Xing Nuo again, his smile unwavering.

Xing Nuo felt a strange sense of familiarity with Lu Qi, assuming he was a classmate from another kindergarten class.

“Okay! We…find brother…chase away…bad teacher!”

Xing Nuo limped forward, wanting to follow the little firefly, which had flown away earlier.

But because of the delay caused by the monster teacher, the firefly had vanished into the darkness.

“Oh no! Firefly…gone!” Xing Nuo anxiously took a couple of steps forward.

Lu Qi, holding Xing Nuo’s hand, looked down at his bleeding knee, his voice serious.

“Xing Nuo, your leg is bleeding.”

Xing Nuo wiped away a tear that had escaped from the pain and pouted.

“It’s okay…we find…brother…”

When they found his brother, he would take Zaizai to soak in the pool and heal.

But Lu Qi disagreed. He pulled Xing Nuo’s arm, leading him in a different direction.

“No, we need to treat your injury first!”

Excessive blood loss was dangerous!

Xing Nuo, unable to resist Lu Qi’s pull, his little feet dragging on the floor, was led to a storage room.

Lu Qi, seemingly unafraid of the monster-infested school, stood on tiptoe and turned on the light.

Xing Nuo, his eyes sensitive after being in the darkness for so long, shielded them with his hand.

“Where…is this?”

He peeked through his fingers, looking around the room.

Lu Qi rummaged through the storage room and found a medical prop bandage.

“This is where I’m staying for now.”

He wrapped the bandage around Xing Nuo’s knee. Within seconds, the pain subsided.

Xing Nuo wiggled his leg, no longer bleeding, and asked curiously:

“Xiao Qi, you…live…in school?”

The familiar form of address made Lu Qi pause. He looked at Xing Nuo, his gaze distant, as if looking into the past.

He smiled and nodded.

“Yes, I have to…study human knowledge…in school…”
