Chapter 47
Hearing that Lu Qi was studying at the school, Xing Nuo gasped softly.
“I no like study.”
Xing Nuo didn’t like kindergarten.
Even though the teacher gave him little red flowers and praised him for being a good boy, he still didn’t like it.
He couldn’t see Daddy or Big Brother for most of the day.
And during class, he had to keep his hands on the table, while the annoying chubby boy kept making faces at him.
Hearing how much Lu Qi loved studying, even living at the school, Xing Nuo sighed in admiration.
“You so amazing.”
Lu Qi smiled, a flicker of satisfaction in his stiff, mechanical face.
“I’m not amazing. I’ve never been human. I don’t understand many things.”
So he had to study hard and learn how to be a human.
He couldn’t help but reach out and touch Xing Nuo’s warm, soft cheek with his cold fingers.
“Xing Nuo is the amazing one!”
Praised so sincerely by another child, Xing Nuo blushed, wiping his watery eyelashes.
“Not.”
The “amazing” Xing Nuo couldn’t even do addition and subtraction within ten.
During their short conversation, Xing Nuo’s knee had almost completely healed.
Although it was still slightly red and swollen, it no longer hurt to walk.
Lu Qi rolled up the bandage and tucked it into Xing Nuo’s pocket.
“Here, Xing Nuo. You can use it a few more times.”
These prop bandages, although their healing power was limited and couldn’t heal fatal wounds, were convenient to carry and inexpensive in the market.
Lu Qi turned and rummaged through the storage room again, like a treasure-hunting mouse.
He straightened up, holding a brooch, and pinned it to Xing Nuo’s clothes.
“Here, Xing Nuo. Wear this.”
An S-level prop brooch that could deflect a fatal blow from a high-level monster.
A life-saving prop every player dreamed of.
Lu Qi wanted to give Xing Nuo all the good things he had snatched from other monsters, but Xing Nuo took a step back, shaking his head, refusing to accept them.
“Daddy said…no take other people’s things.”
Lu Qi gave up, then took Xing Nuo’s hand, feeling his strong pulse.
“So good. I can touch Xing Nuo now.”
His new friend always said things Xing Nuo didn’t understand.
But Xing Nuo didn’t mind. He stomped his foot, confirming his knee no longer hurt, and turned to leave, looking for the missing firefly.
“I go find Big Brother now.”
He couldn’t waste any more time!
Little Knight Xing Nuo had to find reinforcements and rescue the children from the bad teacher!
Lu Qi, hearing this, tilted his head, a flicker of light in his dull eyes.
So good. Xing Nuo is still so brave!
He took Xing Nuo’s hand.
“I take you!”
Xing Nuo’s eyes lit up.
“You know where…my Big Brother?”
Lu Qi nodded, ready to showcase his abilities.
Streams of blue data flashed before his eyes, the entire school shrinking into a small map.
From south to north, the school plaza, the fountain, the teaching buildings, the cafeteria…everything was visible to him.
He filtered out all the horror world dungeons, leaving only the two that had merged with the real world.
One was Xing Nuo’s kindergarten classroom.
The other was Shen Baizhou’s high school.
The high school classroom was on the same floor as them, on the east side, while the storage room was on the west side.
“Found him. We just need to go straight there.”
The blue light in Lu Qi’s eyes faded, and he turned to Xing Nuo, his voice cold and mechanical.
“We’ll pass five dungeon classrooms. Two of them have monster teachers. One is special, with a PE teacher lurking outside the hallway.”
Each classroom had a different test, and the players inside were struggling to answer the questions.
In some dungeons, even a second’s delay would break the rules, resulting in being devoured by the monster teacher.
Lu Qi briefly scanned the content of these dungeons and looked at Xing Nuo.
“We can’t go directly. The dungeons are dangerous, and we might be caught by patrolling teachers.”
Lu Qi had used all his energy to knock out the female monster teacher who had caught Xing Nuo earlier.
He wasn’t sure he could handle another one.
Xing Nuo, listening to Lu Qi’s logical analysis, although not understanding everything, nodded obediently.
“Then…what we do?”
Lu Qi quickly calculated and, after a moment, spoke.
“There’s a way.”
The monster teacher, chased out of the classroom by Shen Baizhou, crouched in the hallway, panting.
What kind of human was that?!
So strong!
And he broke the rules, attacking a teacher!
The monster teacher shuddered, remembering being smashed into the desk and used as a tablecloth.
He couldn’t face that human again!
Shen Baizhou wanted a physics teacher?
The monster teacher decided to find someone else for the job.
In the hallway.
A PE monster teacher, wearing a tank top, was lurking by the back door of a classroom, his eyes on the students inside, who were taking a test.
The players didn’t dare look back, their foreheads sweating as they desperately tried to recall the clues they had found.
The monster PE teacher’s mouth watered, saliva dripping onto the floor.
He couldn’t wait to devour a human!
Just as he was imagining the delicious meal he would soon have, he heard someone call him.
“Still waiting for the players to make a mistake?”
Another monster, who had managed to snag a spot in the human world dungeon, strolled over, shaking his head at the PE teacher.
“I’d say, just find a ready-made one!”
The PE teacher, strong but not very bright, looked at him blankly.
“What do you mean?”
The monster grinned, his expression smug.
“My class is almost over, time to harvest some students, but…”
He sighed dramatically and patted the PE teacher’s shoulder.
“I’m not as strong as you. There’s a weak little human in there I can’t seem to catch. So much delicious meat, but I can’t have it.”
The PE teacher’s mouth watered.
“You’re too weak! Of course you can’t eat him!”
The confident PE teacher eagerly followed the monster, his laughter sharp and unsettling.
“Let me handle it, hehehe!”
The monster watched him go, sneering, and thought, Idiot.
What good would it do him?
They were from different worlds. Unlike him, whose virtual projection could interact with the real world, the PE teacher couldn’t actually harm the humans.
But it was a good way to get rid of him.
Shen Baizhou wanted a new teacher?
Who said a PE teacher couldn’t teach physics?
The monster teacher, having accomplished his task, was about to return to the horror world, thinking he wouldn’t be getting a meal today, when he heard two faint voices in the darkness.
“Xiao Qi, are you sure Big Brother is in that classroom?”
“I’m sure! Shen Baizhou, right? I’m never wrong about finding people!”
“Wow, let’s go then!”
Hearing the name “Shen Baizhou,” the monster felt a sudden pang of pain, then quickly recovered.
What did that child call Shen Baizhou?!
Big Brother!
Instantly, his pain vanished, and he straightened up, grabbing the two little ones hiding in the shadows.
“Hahaha! Gotcha!”
He held a child in each hand, shaking Xing Nuo, his grin wide.
“Did you just say Shen Baizhou is your Big Brother?”
Xing Nuo, remembering Lu Qi’s instructions, nodded.
“Yes, Shen Baizhou my Big Brother.”
The monster chuckled, then dropped the other child on the floor.
“Perfect! I’m going to find your Big Brother too! I’ll just take you with me.”
His smile was sinister, imagining the scene of using the little one to threaten Shen Baizhou, black smoke seeping from his body in excitement.
Shen Baizhou, you arrogant little human! Now I have leverage!
He remembered the force of Shen Baizhou’s punch, his eyes gleaming.
If he devoured Shen Baizhou, he might be able to level up to A-rank!
Then he could rule this school!
The monster teacher, carrying Xing Nuo, didn’t take him back to his kindergarten classroom, but turned towards the high school classrooms.
Just as Lu Qi had calculated, the monster teacher easily reached the high school classroom with Xing Nuo, avoiding the dangers of the other dungeon classrooms along the way.
Xing Nuo, dangling in mid-air, looked through the window and saw his brother sitting in the last row, his head down, looking at a test paper.
He kicked his little feet and called out:
“Big brother!”
Inside the classroom.
The PE teacher had already become another tablecloth on the teacher’s desk.
Shen Baizhou, flipping through his test paper, his sharp hearing picking up the faint voice, looked up, his monolid lifting.
He thought he heard his little brother’s voice!
The window was covered with a privacy film, so he couldn’t see outside. He stood up and tapped the student in front of him on the shoulder.
“Hey, did you hear my little brother’s voice?”
The student, both awed and terrified of Shen Baizhou, who was even more dangerous than the monster teacher, trembled.
“Um, I don’t know your little brother…”
How could he possibly know what his little brother sounded like?!
