Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 8

Mu Chenxing still didn’t manage to buy any medicine in the end.

Because they got caught.

A patrolling Alpha teacher zoomed over their heads on something like a balance board with a whoosh, ready to haul them back to the Administrative Building.

Along the way, the Alpha teacher hovered halfway in the air and teased them: “Omegas still don’t fight much, huh? Cameras are everywhere on the road—did you think running a few hundred meters meant you’d escaped?”

He pointed in a direction. “Learn from those two Alphas; they’re long gone now, and another teacher’s still chasing them.”

Mu Chenxing nodded. “Got it. I’ll pay attention next time.”

Xia Weizhen: “…”

Alpha teacher: “?”

He glared down at him from above. “Pay attention to what? A perfectly good Omega—how can you get into fights?”

Mu Chenxing stayed silent and tugged at Xia Weizhen, who looked ready to speak.

Xia Weizhen glanced at him and shut his mouth.

Under the watchful eye of the teacher patrolling overhead, the two of them endured the stares from students along the road and slowly made their way to the Administrative Building.

Two Alpha teachers and the familiar Professor Zhang were already waiting for them in the Counseling Room.

When they entered, the two Alpha teachers stepped out first, conveniently closing the door behind them.

Professor Zhang glanced at Xia Weizhen, confirmed he was fine, then glared at Mu Chenxing. “What’s the matter with you? You caused trouble just a couple days ago, and now you’re fighting again? Have you been too rowdy lately?”

Mu Chenxing: “Prof—”

“Professor,” Xia Weizhen interrupted him, “could you please check him out? His condition lately has been off—that Alpha’s pheromones have affected him too much.”

Mu Chenxing: “…”

Professor Zhang’s expression softened a bit. “That Alpha’s pheromones are too aggressive; it could indeed make the recipient impulsive and hyperactive… We’ll talk about that later. Come here first—let me measure you. Anywhere uncomfortable?”

Mu Chenxing: “…”

Is there really such a thing?

“Bones might be an issue. It hurts.”

Professor Zhang frowned and had him roll up his pant legs and sleeves.

Mu Chenxing sat down and rolled them up.

“Hiss.” Xia Weizhen saw his arms and legs covered in bruises and turned pale. “That’s bad.”

Professor Zhang’s face darkened too. He scanned Mu Chenxing’s arms and legs one by one with something like a temperature gun. Once finished, his expression grew even grimmer. “Minor fractures in the right forearm and left leg.”

Xia Weizhen looked like he was about to cry. “It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t paid him any attention, this wouldn’t have happened.”

Mu Chenxing breathed a sigh of relief. “No big deal. Lighter than I thought.”

His right arm and left leg had blocked most of the attacks, and they were only minor fractures—this Omega body had decent constitution. Once he built up his muscles, he’d be able to withstand Alpha attacks.

He even comforted Xia Weizhen. “Next time he mocks you, just throw today’s events back at him. Or wait till I train more and beat him for good.”

Xia Weizhen threw his arms around him. “Wahhh, Xingxing, how are you so nice~~”

“Still fighting?!” Professor Zhang smacked each of them on the back of the head. “You’re Omegas—don’t fight like Alphas every day!”

Mu Chenxing and Xia Weizhen: “…”

Professor Zhang put away the scanner and sprayed some ointment on his wounds.

A cool sensation seeped into his skin, penetrating straight to the bone.

Mu Chenxing’s pain eased by more than half in an instant.

His eyes lit up. He stared at the bottle. “Teacher, how many times a day does this need to be sprayed?”

Professor Zhang kept spraying without looking up. “It’s bones, after all. Three days, twice a day at noon and evening in the Medical Building.”

Mu Chenxing thickened his skin. “That’d trouble you too much. How about giving me this bottle? I can spray it myself.”

Professor Zhang paused and looked up with a glare. “This is a controlled medication. No.”

Mu Chenxing: “Something not controlled, weaker effect is fine—I can buy it.”

Professor Zhang eyed him suspiciously. “What do you need it for?”

Jackpot. Mu Chenxing kept a straight face. “We Omegas are delicate and frail; we bump into things easily. Better to keep some spare meds in the dorm.”

Professor Zhang: “…Why don’t other Omegas need that?”

Mu Chenxing: “They’re not as fragile as us.”

Professor Zhang: “…” He flicked him on the forehead. “You little punk—fix your clothes.”

Mu Chenxing pouted.

Once he’d straightened his clothes, Xia Weizhen went to open the door.

The two Alphas came back in, followed by an Omega teacher.

After registering their schools, majors, and classes, they began lecturing them.

Mu Chenxing listened attentively for a few minutes.

The Alpha teachers mainly scolded him for his arrogance and overestimating himself, warning this Omega not to be impulsive again.

The Omega teacher who’d arrived later asked if they’d run into trouble, if those Alphas had bullied them. After negative answers, he repeatedly emphasized seeking teacher help if there were problems.

Mu Chenxing got it.

He’d gotten caught fighting, but no punishment.

Which meant once he built strength and muscle, he could still go another round with Xu Zhicheng.

He settled in and listened quietly to the lecture.

Professor Zhang, who’d pulled up a chair beside him, clapped his hands. “Alright, he’s just an Omega—why be so harsh? Where’s that Alpha? Since when can Alphas lay hands on Omegas?”

One Alpha teacher quickly said, “We’re already disciplining him and docking points. But…”

“No buts. I don’t care about school rules.” Professor Zhang reminded them, “Mu Chenxing has high-tier Alpha pheromones on him—highly aggressive. You must have noticed. He won’t say it, but I suspect that Alpha was influenced too.”

The two Alpha teachers exchanged glances.

“We asked earlier—they’re not in the same class and don’t interact daily. The influence shouldn’t be that strong,” one said.

Xia Weizhen raised his hand. “Teacher, I’m with Xingxing every day; I have pheromones on me too. Xu Zhicheng interacts with me more.”

Professor Zhang frowned immediately.

Alpha teacher: “It’s been through so many layers by now—shouldn’t affect him, right?”

Professor Zhang countered, “No, it could.”

His expression turned grave. “We overlooked something. A couple days ago, he overexerted during exercise, causing pheromone disorder. The released Alpha pheromones stimulated every Alpha in the Gymnasium.”

The Omega teacher came to a realization and looked at Mu Chenxing in shock.

Alpha teacher, puzzled: “Wasn’t it mainly his Omega pheromones?”

Professor Zhang: “…”

He rolled his eyes. “What do you illiterate types know?”

Alpha teacher, innocent: “Well, what else could it be?”

Professor Zhang: “Tell me, when are Alpha pheromones most aggressive?”

Alpha teacher: “Obviously during a partner’s pheromone rampage—huh?”

Professor Zhang snorted. “Get it now?”

The Alpha teacher frowned and looked at Mu Chenxing along with the other one.

Xia Weizhen looked at Mu Chenxing too.

Mu Chenxing: “…What does that mean?”

The Omega teacher spoke first. “How old are you?”

Mu Chenxing had checked this body’s info. “18, turning 19 in two months.”

The Omega teacher frowned; Professor Zhang added, “Still a kid.”

Mu Chenxing was confused and wanted to ask, but Professor Zhang turned to the Alpha teachers. “Is your boss around? I need to talk business.”

“…He is.” The Alpha teacher grumbled, “Professor Zhang, don’t call him that, or it sounds like we’re in some triad gang.”

Professor Zhang brushed it off. “Oh.”

He turned to the two of them. “Nothing else—head out.”

Mu Chenxing and the others had no choice but to leave.

Out of the Administrative Building, they headed toward the Cafeteria. Xia Weizhen said worriedly, “Your pheromones won’t cause issues, right?”

Mu Chenxing shrugged. “Doesn’t matter. Doesn’t affect my life, and it’ll be gone in three weeks anyway, yeah?”

Xia Weizhen disagreed. “It already has—you’re covered in injuries.”

Mu Chenxing flexed his limbs. “All good now. Professor Zhang’s meds are great. Next time I can go all out.”

Xia Weizhen: “…See? You’re influenced by the Alpha pheromones!!”

Mu Chenxing: “…”

Xia Weizhen was genuinely worried and still shaken by the fight. He nagged nonstop during dinner.

Mu Chenxing just hummed along, mouth never stopping—too damn good.

Technological progress brought culinary bliss; specialty ingredients from planets he’d never seen or tasted.

Even big-pot school cafeteria food was this delicious—who knew how amazing outside eats would be.

Once he’d cleaned his tray, Xia Weizhen finally stopped, scarfed his food, and they headed back to the dorm together.

No matter how good the meds, Mu Chenxing had fractures—he had to skip evening workouts. Bored, he hunkered down studying.

When Tong Xiao and the others returned with weird looks, Mu Chenxing was still wearing earphones listening to elementary lessons.

He jumped when tapped, paused the holo-screen, and looked up at his roommates.

Tong Xiao looked bizarre. “You fought an Alpha?”

Mu Chenxing glanced at Xia Weizhen, who waved it off—nope, not him snitching.

Tong Xiao: “No hiding it. Class group, club group—it’s everywhere. Photos, videos from every angle.”

Tao Xirui: “You hurt?”

Mu Chenxing, touched: “I knew Xirui cared—”

Tong Xiao knocked his head.

“How dare you? Alphas are innately stronger, crush Omegas—”

“My bad, my bad.” Xia Weizhen hugged his arm. “Xu Zhicheng mocked me again; Xingxing just couldn’t stand it and helped. Don’t blame him!”

Tong Xiao: “Doesn’t mean you fight—wait, is that Xu Zhicheng nuts? Harassing you again? What’s his deal?”

Xia Weizhen glanced at Mu Chenxing and fidgeted shyly. “Xingxing says he has a crush on me.”

Tong Xiao: “…”

Tao Xirui: “…”

They exchanged looks, shoved him onto the bed, and started grilling:

“You aren’t blind enough to like that guy, right?”

“Xingxing got fractures from him—no liking!”

“I don’t!!”

“Then why blush?”

“Spill it…”

Mu Chenxing: “…”

He chuckled helplessly, climbed into his bunk, popped on earphones, and resumed elementary lessons.

The next day, after class, Mu Chenxing headed to the Medical Building with his three tag-alongs for meds.

At the door, the smart lock scanned his wristband, sending Professor Zhang’s exact floor and room.

Following directions, he led the trio upstairs, found the office, and rang the bell.

The door clicked open. Professor Zhang sat inside on a video call. Spotting them, he pointed to the sofa and kept talking.

“…How’s this student gonna last the month?—Bullshit, indiscriminate attacks on all Alphas is dangerous—”

“No excuses. Just tell me who this is—so cocky—”

“You don’t know?—Pfft, what good are you then!!”

Professor Zhang hung up, slamming the desk in fury.

The four kept their heads down, not daring to breathe.

Professor Zhang took two breaths, stood, rummaged in a cabinet, tossed a bottle to Mu Chenxing. “Spray it yourself.”

“Oh, thanks, Professor.” Mu Chenxing caught it.

Professor Zhang’s expression eased. He glanced at the three beside him and smiled. “Your roommates?”

Mu Chenxing nodded.

Xia Weizhen and the others greeted him.

Professor Zhang waved. “Sit.”

They sat; Mu Chenxing rolled up sleeves and pant legs.

Professor Zhang watched. “Your pheromones—you’ll just have to tough it out till they fade.”

Mu Chenxing nodded. “Can’t make suppressants, right? It’s fine.”

Professor Zhang’s brow furrowed; he chose words carefully. “That’s one thing. Second… you really don’t know that Alpha?”

Mu Chenxing shook his head. “Nope.”

Professor Zhang frowned at him.

Mu Chenxing stressed: “For real.”

Professor Zhang: “Then why won’t the other side… release it?”

Mu Chenxing: “Huh?”

Professor Zhang said, “We originally thought you two didn’t know each other and it was an emergency, so the other party used a Temporary Mark. That’s why we didn’t think in that direction. But I had someone contact the other party, and they refused to provide help or assist you in breaking down the Alpha’s Temporary Mark.”

Tong Xiao and the other two paled in unison.

Mu Chenxing understood, though. “It’s probably a matter of personal privacy.”

After all, in his original world, the higher up you went, the fussier people got about that stuff.

Professor Zhang replied, “No. The pheromones on your body are too aggressive toward Alphas. This isn’t some temporary fix.”

He stared at Mu Chenxing, enunciating each word. “The other party is declaring their ownership of you to all Alphas.”

Mu Chenxing: “……”

Pfft, like hell with that ownership bullshit!

Mu Chenxing met with an ambush and died while carrying out a mission. When he woke, a bizarre heat and dizziness overwhelmed his body. He spotted the shady figures around him and calmly grabbed a wine bottle. Clang! He smashed it and jabbed the jagged edge into his thigh before charging forward— By the time he pieced together what had happened, he realized he'd transmigrated into some bizarre world. The interstellar expanse stretched vast, technology advanced beyond measure, but humanity's classifications were downright strange. His kind was called Omega—weak as dodder vine, their lives seemingly revolving around nothing but marriage, popping out kids, going into heat, and hooking up with guys. Fuck! Pei Yao was notorious for despising Omegas—until he witnessed that spectacular showdown at the mouth of the alley. He caught the lingering scent of wine in the air and suddenly thought, Omegas aren't so bad after all. He couldn't stop thinking about that Omega from that night. When he attended his alma mater's celebration, he ran into that very same pretty Omega with explosive power from the alley. He immediately blocked his path and smiled. "Little beauty, looks like we're pretty fated. Wanna bond with me?" What came back at him was a vicious groin kick from the little Omega. Pei Yao: *Hiss... that's hot. At the University Arena Competition between interstellar universities, a pretty Omega burst onto the scene out of nowhere. He crushed a horde of Alphas and stormed into the finals. Online, the insults, mockery, and disgust began to brew into a storm of negativity. But then the Omega-phobic Admiral—judged doomed to a life of lonely widowhood—suddenly opened a Starbo account. His first post was just a single photo: A bruised-faced Omega kicking an Alpha opponent flying. @Pei Yao: *My wife—handsome, right? The entire net: *...* Mu Chenxing: *...*
