Chapter 89: Dream
The kindergarten’s walls were covered with rose vines. The golden September was the last month for the roses to bloom, and the flowers on the entire wall had a kind of brilliant beauty, as if they were blooming to their fullest.
“Gu Ze! Where are you?”
Nuonuo ran forward along the rose wall, cupping his little hands around his mouth and shouting as loudly as he could.
Running to a place with dense petals, a black shadow flashed before Nuonuo’s eyes. He thought it was Gu Ze and quickly ran over in pleasant surprise.
“Gu Ze… huh?”
Nuonuo stopped his steps. Seeing the black cat that had jumped down from the flower bushes, he couldn’t help but stop his voice.
This was the first time Nuonuo had seen such a black little cat. Only the tip of its tail was white, and the rest of its body was as black as a shadow.
The cat stretched out its four paws and lay on the ground, letting out a lazy yawn. Seeing the human cub in front of it, it didn’t directly go up and scratch it.
The saying “respect the old and love the young” was indeed true for cats.
Even when Nuonuo reached out his little hand to touch its head, the cat just glanced at him lazily and then lay back down on the ground, continuing to doze with its eyes squinted.
“Little kitty, I have yummy wittle cookies here. Do you want to eat them?”
Nuonuo’s little hands stroked the cat’s fur. He took out the little cookie he hadn’t been willing to finish from his pocket, bent down, and handed it to the little cat.
But the cat just glanced at him lightly, flicked its tail, and turned its head, ignoring him.
Nuonuo thought the little cat hadn’t seen it, so he continued to stick his bottom out, lay his little head on the ground, and pushed the little cookie in front of the cat.
“You eat the wittle cookie, ya. I… I only have this one!”
This little cookie had a filling. Nuonuo himself hadn’t been willing to eat it. Looking at the little cookie, he couldn’t help but swallow.
The little cat looked up at Nuonuo, its gaze as if it were looking at a little fool.
But the little fool was crouching on the ground, looking at him with great anticipation, his eyes reflecting a small cat shadow, which made the little cat can’t help but lower its tail helplessly.
Lowering its head slightly, the black cat took the cookie in its mouth and, with a few leaps, its figure once again disappeared into the flower bushes.
And seeing the little cat take the little cookie away, Nuonuo happily clenched his little fists, not even noticing the several rose petals that had fallen on his head.
Gu Ze ran over from the corner, covered in sweat. Seeing Nuonuo, his tightly pursed lips finally relaxed.
“Nuonuo!”
Gu Ze didn’t even bother to wipe his sweat. He ran over and took Nuonuo’s hand, took a deep breath, and said, “I’ve been looking for you for a long time. What are you doing here?”
Nuonuo’s eyes crinkled. He tilted his little face up, his eyes sparkling as he said, “I fed a wittle kitty! A very pwetty bwack wittle kitty!”
Gu Ze nodded. “I saw it just now too. It’s indeed quite black.”
It was because of this cat that Gu Ze had thought Nuonuo was over here.
This cat often roamed around the kindergarten. The teachers around were already familiar with him and would occasionally bring him ham sausages, cat food, and other things to feed him.
Unfortunately, this cat was extremely noble and cold. It completely looked down on the things they offered. Sometimes, when it was annoyed, it would even slap the ground with its paw, flick its tail, and walk away directly.
But Nuonuo didn’t know this. He even said cheerfully, “The kitty ate my cookie. I’ll bring him more next time!”
Gu Ze let out a “hmm.” “But you have to tell me next time. You can’t just run off by yourself.”
Nuonuo nodded his little head and walked to the lawn with Gu Ze. Just in time, he saw Teacher Xiao Ran clapping her hands and gathering everyone together.
“Little friends, it’s time to play. Now I’m going to start calling the roll!”
There were nine little friends, not a single one missing. Teacher Xiao Ran then took these little radish heads back inside.
“We’re going to have a class later. This class is called ‘My Dream.’ Are there any little friends who want to come and talk about what their dream is?”
Teacher Xiao Ran made a hand-raising gesture, and soon, Bai Xin, this loyal little fan of Teacher Xiao Ran, raised her hand.
“Okay, then let’s have our little friend Xinxin come up and talk!”
Bai Xin was not at all stage-frightened. She walked up to the stage generously and curtsied to everyone, holding her skirt.
A princess’s curtsy required her to lower her body and squat a little. When Bai Xin did this, her skirt would sway slightly, elegant and beautiful.
The few little girls below the stage who were closest to Bai Xin clapped their hands. Seeing Princess Bai Xin on stage, their little faces were flushed red and even showed a hint of pride.
“My dream is to become a more outstanding princess!”
Bai Xin truly loved the identity of a princess and even wanted to make it her lifelong goal.
In her narration, a princess would live in a rose castle, trim the flower branches and feed the small animals every day, and a noble and handsome prince would ride a white horse towards the princess under the sunset glow.
“The prince in my heart is Big Brother Fei Jing. When I grow up, I will marry him.”
At this point, Bai Xin was a little embarrassed. Her shy little face was red, and she pursed her lips and quickly came down, holding her skirt.
But the moment she came down, Bai Xin was surrounded by a few girls, who chattered on with sparkling eyes.
“Xinxin, are you really going to marry Fei Jing? I like him a lot too!”
“But Xinxin is a princess, and a princess is supposed to be with a prince!”
“It’s so good to be a princess!”
Bai Xin’s narration was too dreamy, and the girls were all immersed in it, their little mouths chattering nonstop.
Zhuang Rou, who had been unable to get a word in, blinked her eyes, looked at the princess crown on Bai Xin’s head with a bit of envy, and said in a small voice, “I also want to be a princess.”
Zhuang Rou had an introverted personality, and her voice was also light and soft, a complete opposite of the generous and lively Bai Xin. She was like a little hamster hiding in a tree hole. If she spoke more than two sentences with others, she would blush and lower her little head.
But Bai Xin liked to play with her very much because Zhuang Rou was very pretty, and Bai Xin was a complete face-con.
Hearing Zhuang Rou’s words, Bai Xin tilted her head slightly and opened her mouth. “Then you can be a princess too!”
Zhuang Rou, on the other hand, quickly waved her hands. “I can’t.”
Bai Xin frowned in confusion. “Why not? Aren’t you a girl?”
Zhuang Rou nodded her head and said yes in a small voice.
Bai Xin: “Then that’s it. Every one of us girls can become a princess!”
Zhuang Rou was completely stunned now. She reacted for a long while before saying, “Really?”
Bai Xin answered with great confidence, “Really! I’m the princess of Baizhou, so you can be the princess of Yunzhou!”
A visible light lit up on Zhuang Rou’s little face. She clenched her little fists, her eyelashes fluttering as she said with a bit of excitement, “Then… then my dream is also to be a princess!”
Only then did Bai Xin nod. “That’s right. You can do whatever you want, because you are a princess!”
With that, Bai Xin even added, “But I am the only princess of Baizhou.”
After the girls finished chattering, there were several more princesses in Yunzhou.
Bai Xin even took Zhuang Rou’s hand and ran to Nuonuo’s side.
“Nuonuo, can you tell your papa to order Zhuang Rou to be made a princess?”
Bai Xin knew that Nuonuo’s papa was the highest council president of Yunzhou, just like her grandpa, so he definitely had the right to make Zhuang Rou and the others princesses.
Back then, when Bai Xin was one and a half, her grandpa had personally put the crown on her head, and only then did she officially become the little princess of Baizhou.
Nuonuo was trying his best to think about his own dream. Hearing Bai Xin’s words, his little head was full of confusion.
But looking at the other girls’ expectant eyes, Nuonuo still nodded. “Okay, ya.”
Bai Xin clapped her hands and nodded. “Then let’s go together after school. We’ll go and talk to Uncle Fei together!”
Nuonuo still nodded blankly.
After the girls left, Nuonuo finally raised his little hand. After Teacher Xiao Ran clapped her hands to quiet everyone down, he ran up to the stage.
“I… my dream is to be a wittle villain!”
Teacher Xiao Ran looked at Nuonuo’s tense, chubby round face, his eyes still holding a hint of seriousness, and almost couldn’t hold back her laughter.
It had to be said that children’s ideas were really strange.
But Bai Xin’s princess was still understandable. Nuonuo’s little villain was really incomprehensible.
“Then why does Nuonuo want to be a little villain?” Teacher Xiao Ran asked at the right time.
Nuonuo pursed his lips. It was his first time speaking on stage, and he was so nervous he wrung his little hands. He took a light breath and then said, “Because I will also be a wittle villain in the future, ya.”
Teacher Xiao Ran nodded, at a loss whether to laugh or cry, and also clapped her hands in encouragement. “Okay, thank you for sharing with us, Nuonuo!”
If Nuonuo were a little older, perhaps Teacher Xiao Ran would have had a good talk with his parents about his psychological problems.
But Nuonuo was a soft and well-behaved child. You could tell from his eyes that he had a good personality, so Teacher Xiao Ran was not at all worried that he would do anything bad.
Lei Xiaoyan, on the other hand, couldn’t think of anything himself. He thought Nuonuo’s idea was so cool and simply copied it.
“I’m going to be a big baddie in the future!”
The clever Lei Xiaoyan had even deliberately modified his wording, shaking his little head and thinking he was the smartest in the world!
But reality was cruel. Before he could even get off the stage, he was taken to the side by Teacher Xiao Ran and was lectured for more than ten minutes.
Amidst the chattering and laughter of the children, the sun finally slowly set in the west, and the orange-golden light once again fell on the earth.
Nuonuo lined up, obediently carrying his little backpack as he walked out of the school gate.
Fei Zhiyan had long been waiting outside the gate. Seeing Nuonuo come out, he quickly took two steps and picked up the little one.
“Papa!”
Nuonuo wrapped his arms around his papa’s neck, leaned against his papa’s chest, swung his little feet, and squinted his eyes happily.
“Uncle Fei!”
Bai Xin also walked over with the other girls, all of them tilting their little faces up to look at Fei Zhiyan.
Fei Zhiyan, on the other hand, nodded coolly, his face slightly cold, not saying much.
He had thought of just saying hello and leaving, but in the next second, Bai Xin’s words almost made Fei Zhiyan’s indifferent mask crack.
“Uncle Fei, can you make Zhuang Rou and the others princesses?”
Fei Zhiyan looked at the few girls with a speechless expression. One of them, a shy and pretty little girl, had the brightest eyes, the anticipation in them almost overflowing.
“Your parents are here.”
Averting his head, Fei Zhiyan glanced at the other parents who were in a frenzy, and took half a step back to make room for them.
The parents’ faces were visibly embarrassed. They quickly said, “We’re so sorry for the trouble,” and then carried their children away from this place.
In an instant, the school gate became empty. Bai Xin was also pulled by the hand by the butler and, with an unwilling look on her face, was pulled into the car.
Fei Zhiyan looked at the spoiled little princess being pulled away and sighed lightly.
Although this princess was a bit arrogant and bossy, she had a kind of drive and courage that others did not. Once she thought of something, she would immediately put it into action.
It was the same last time she wanted to see Fei Jing. She had arrived in Yunzhou in the morning and had run to Fei Zhiyan’s villa in the afternoon.
Compared to her grandfather, that old man who could only be rigid and old-fashioned, she was indeed much stronger.
