Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 13

Ouyang Yuyuan was even more convinced than Xiao Liu and the others. Damn, the way Yi Ge spoke was almost identical to what he had said when they first met.

He had already been proven right, so this Master Cheng…

Ouyang Yuyuan exchanged a glance with Mu Jiajun, and in the end, Ouyang Yuyuan spoke up: “Yi Ge, you also saw that he has a Blood Light Disaster?”

“I only said his Qi Yun was declining and that he would encounter bad things.” With such heavy Yin Qi, Lonely Ghosts and Wild Ghosts liked to target him—weren’t those bad things?

Whether it involved blood or not, Chu Yi couldn’t say for sure.

Director Mo’s heart skipped a beat. The word “also” from Ouyang Special Assistant made him think twice!

With the previous events as precedent, Director Mo had no choice but to believe. He asked uneasily, “Young Master Chu, can you tell what’s the problem? Is there a way to resolve it? To be honest, Master Cheng has a bit of a temper, but in terms of professionalism, he’s qualified. If my film crew loses him, we won’t be able to shoot the action scenes later…”

He looked at Chu Yi pleadingly. Surely, if he joined the crew, he wouldn’t want the filming to stop either?

“I haven’t found the source yet.” Chu Yi said. That thing seemed to deliberately avoid him when it saw him. “But if Director Mo isn’t at ease, I can join the crew as soon as possible.”

Director Mo was overjoyed: “That would be great! How about Young Master Chu moves in tonight? Our film crew rented a hotel next to Film City. Others share rooms in pairs, but if Young Master Chu is willing to come, I can arrange a single deluxe suite for you!”

Director Mo felt a bit embarrassed as he said this. Their film crew’s budget was limited, and a single deluxe suite was already the best he could offer—he lived in one himself.

Chu Yi thought of his dingy rental room, and his eyes lit up as he was about to agree. But then he reconsidered. He had just obtained the Spirit Pearl and taken fifty thousand from Mu Jiajun, enough to prepare a set of cultivation medicinal liquid. Besides, he still didn’t know the source of the Yin Qi, so it was better to make some preparations first.

“Give me three days, Director Mo. I’ll join the crew on time after that.”

Director Mo nodded repeatedly: “Sure, sure. I’ll have someone prepare it for you.”

Ouyang Yuyuan and Mu Jiajun sent Chu Yi back to the rental house and then left.

When Chu Yi went upstairs, he ran into Shen Zuwei who was coming out of his door again. The moment Shen Zuwei saw Chu Yi, his face lit up with schadenfreude: “Where did you go this afternoon, kid? Your cousin came looking for you, looking furious. He kicked the door when he couldn’t find you. If the landlord hadn’t stopped him, he might have broken in.”

Chu Yi glanced at the shoe prints on his door and knew Shen Zuwei wasn’t lying—those hadn’t been there when he left that morning.

“I heard you got your Eldest Uncle beaten so badly his leg was broken, and he’s still in the hospital. I have to say, that’s not right of you. Your uncle raised you, fed you, and clothed you all these years—how could you bite the hand that feeds you? And your grandpa and grandma are getting on in years, yet you don’t even call home…”

As he spoke, Shen Zuwei glanced at Chu Yi’s hand and was surprised to see him holding the latest model of a certain brand’s Mobile Phone: “Where’d you get the money for that Mobile Phone? Did you steal someone’s cash?”

Chu Yi rolled his eyes at him: “Did you see the guys who just dropped me off? It was a gift—no charge. He even hooked me up with a new job, good pay. I’m moving out soon, so take care of yourself from now on.”

For someone like Shen Zuwei, just hinting that he was doing better was enough to make him squirm.

Chu Yi turned back: “Oh, right. Guess why I didn’t have my ID Card before and had to borrow your Extra Actor Permit to work? All the money I earned in the past two years went straight back to them—I didn’t even have enough left for food. At the worst, I had to drink cold water to fill my stomach and scavenge your leftovers… Keep those ‘well-meaning’ family members for yourself. I’m free of them now.”

Chu Yi had noticed that while he was talking to Shen Zuwei, many doors in the hallway had cracked open quietly. Clearly, Chu Dazhi’s commotion that afternoon had drawn everyone’s attention.

He didn’t care what these people thought, but he still needed to explain—otherwise, all the hardships the original body had endured would be for nothing?

Chu Yi had been puzzled before why the Chu Family hadn’t come looking for him sooner. Turns out Eldest Uncle Chu Jiaxing had his leg broken.

Grandpa Chu was old and never meddled in affairs; he couldn’t even figure out the hospital situation. After Chu Dazhi settled his dad and dealt with that illegitimate child, he couldn’t easily give up on his girlfriend either… With all that going on, it was no wonder it delayed him until now to settle scores.

The original body didn’t have a phone, just this rental address, so Chu Dazhi couldn’t track him down.

Chu Yi wasn’t afraid to confront Chu Dazhi, but he wasn’t a pushover—why let a dog keep eyeing him?

With that thought, Chu Yi glanced at Shen Zuwei again: “You’re not planning to keep Chu Dazhi’s number and text him the moment I go inside to come block me, are you?”

Shen Zuwei gave a dry laugh: “How could I?”

Chu Yi didn’t bother with his excuses: “Text him now. Tell him if he dares come looking for me again, I’ll spread his dad’s dirty secrets all over his school—make sure every classmate and teacher knows.”

Shen Zuwei was baffled: “Why should I?”

“Because my fist is bigger than yours. Send it or get beat—that reason good enough?” Chu Yi looked down at him coldly, raising his fist with a smirk.

He always settled scores clearly. He had even given Shen Zuwei an extra forty bucks before—this more than covered asking him to send a text.

“…” It was a compelling reason.

Shen Zuwei weighed the pros and cons and realized he couldn’t take Chu Yi. He still vividly remembered getting beaten black and blue last time. The others in the rental house would just watch from the sidelines—no one would open their doors to help…

Chu Yi narrowed his eyes: “Decided? Send it or not?”

“Send, sending!” Shen Zuwei caved, pulling out his Mobile Phone while probing: “Yi Ge, what did Chu Dazhi’s dad do? You gotta tell me clearly so I know what to write.”

Chu Yi shot him a look, and Shen Zuwei shrank back, not daring to speak. He obediently edited the text as instructed. Chu Yi glanced over: “Good. Send it like that.”

For the sake of that text, as he left, he advised Shen Zuwei one more time: “If it really doesn’t work out, go home and get a job. Your parents don’t expect you to achieve great things—just staying home to keep them company would be filial.”

Shen Zuwei was just an ordinary guy. After floundering into his thirties with nothing to show, he gave up and didn’t dare go home, afraid his parents would be mocked by the neighbors.

Before, if Chu Yi had said that, Shen Zuwei would have taken offense and flipped out. But now, with Chu Yi’s changed appearance and tough attitude, for him to sincerely offer advice like this… Shen Zuwei thought of his parents back home, and his nose tingled, nearly bringing tears to his eyes.

Chu Yi ignored him and shut the door.

On the other side, Chu Dazhi received the text and smashed his Mobile Phone in rage. No wonder his dad said Chu Yi seemed like a different person—hard to control. He hadn’t even done anything yet, and Chu Yi was already threatening him back!

But he had to admit, that text hit Chu Dazhi right where it hurt. He could find another girlfriend if she ran, but if his reputation tanked, he’d be done for at school…

The next day, Chu Yi asked the landlord Liu Quan for info, then went to the local Herbal Medicine Market and spent thirty-five thousand. With the remaining money, he bought some Red Rope, Golden Bell, Peach Wood, Cinnabar, Yellow Talisman Paper, and other items—fifty thousand spent down to the last cent.

To avoid disturbances, he specifically went to a mountain outside the city and lived like a wild man for three days, of course with his Mobile Phone turned off.

When he turned it back on, the missed calls nearly blew up his Mobile Phone.

Besides Ouyang Yuyuan, Mu Jiajun, and Director Mo, there were several unfamiliar numbers. Chu Yi wondered as another call came in. He picked up, and an urgent voice with a Cantonese accent—somewhat familiar—came through: “Master, it was Cheng who failed to recognize an Expert before and offended you greatly. I apologize! Master, please save me. I, I’ve seen a ghost…”
