Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 25 Part 1

Yu Qingxian’s reason was ready-made: “I’ll stay behind to take you back.”

Chu Yi thought about it and realized it made sense. He didn’t have a car, and President Yu was, after all, the client for this job. It was only right to be a little more dutiful. “Alright then.”

“Master, take a quick look at Xiaoxiao. Why is she getting more and more transparent?” Wei Mother suddenly called out. Together with her husband, she gazed at her daughter, who seemed about to vanish, at a complete loss.

Chu Yi had noticed it long ago. He turned to Wei Xiaoxiao. “You gave half of your soul force to Li Yunkai, didn’t you?”

She had only been an incomplete remnant soul to begin with. The reason she had held on until now was thanks to the Peach Blossom Evil amplifying her obsession with Li Yunkai. Now that she had split off half of it, of course she was on the verge of dissipating.

“What? Xiaoxiao, how could you be so foolish!” Wei Mother said anxiously.

Wei Xiaoxiao hung her head low. “He only ended up like this because of me…”

She no longer liked Li Yunkai. She did it purely out of guilt. It was good that she had paid it back. Now, the only people she felt she had let down were her parents. They had done so much for her, and she didn’t know when their hair had turned white or when so many wrinkles had appeared on their faces. Just looking at them made her nose tingle.

Seeing the anxious looks on Wei Father and Wei Mother’s faces—as if they wanted to drag Li Yunkai back—Chu Yi spoke up to reassure them. “She’s turned her own mistake into a correction. You as parents did wrong by her, and her repaying it for you has resolved the karma. Although her power was limited, for the sake of her pure filial piety, I’ll send her to reincarnation.”

Wei Father and Wei Mother exchanged a delighted glance. Finally, Wei Father spoke. “Then, in her next life… in her next life, can Xiaoxiao still be reborn as a human?”

“Rest assured, her soul is clean. There’s no problem with her being reborn as a human next time.”

“Then what you said about the karma and sinful force…”

“Wasn’t that Peach Blossom Evil already struck by heavenly thunder?”

Wei Father was at a loss for words. He pretty much guessed that the master had tricked them, but he felt relieved. As long as Xiaoxiao could reincarnate, that was good…

Chu Yi continued, “However, I’m only responsible for sending her into reincarnation. If you want her to have a healthy body and a worry-free life in her next life, you’d best do more good deeds and pray blessings for her. It’ll also redeem your own sins.”

Shame appeared on Wei Father and Wei Mother’s faces upon hearing this. They had gullibly believed the slander of a petty person and nearly harmed their daughter because of it…

Wei Xiaoxiao suddenly grew anxious. “My mom and dad didn’t do it on purpose. Little brother, please help them. I… I don’t have to go to reincarnation!”

“Xiaoxiao!” Wei Father was startled and quickly scolded her. He then looked at Chu Yi with trepidation. “Master, Xiaoxiao doesn’t understand anything. She’s just talking nonsense…”

“Dad, I’m not talking nonsense!”

Seeing the father and daughter—one human, one ghost—on the verge of arguing, Chu Yi said coolly, “Don’t worry. They’re still far from the end of their lifespans. If they start doing good deeds from now on, it’ll be enough to redeem their sins.”

Only then did Wei Xiaoxiao finally quiet down.

To prevent his daughter from spouting more nonsense, Wei Father hurriedly reminded Chu Yi, “Master, given Xiaoxiao’s condition, when would be a suitable time to send her off?”

Though reluctant, the opportunity was rare. And the master had said their daughter’s soul force was very weak. If they didn’t let her go, were they supposed to watch her soul scatter right before their eyes…

Wei Mother glanced at her husband and understood his concern. She lowered her swollen, tear-reddened eyelids and said nothing.

Chu Yi raised his hand and calculated, quickly selecting the nearest auspicious time. He then used the materials he had brought to set up a small Reincarnation Array. After Wei Xiaoxiao tearfully bid farewell to her parents, her soul body floated into it. “Dad, Mom, I’m going. Take care of yourselves…”

“Xiaoxiao—!!”

Wei Mother watched her daughter dissipate in the white light, knowing this was truly the last time. She cried out and collapsed to the ground, her legs giving way.

“Ah Hui!” Wei Father hurriedly knelt and held his wife. The same bewildered expression appeared on both their faces. Ever since their daughter died, all their hopes had been pinned on that peach tree.

Now the peach tree was destroyed, and their daughter had gone to reincarnation. The sudden emptiness felt like it was taking their remaining half-lives.

But remembering Chu Yi’s earlier words and knowing they still had to do good deeds for their daughter, they soon rallied.

Chu Yi said, “Take the things under the peach tree and the bone remains with you. Scatter the bone remains on Wei Xiaoxiao’s grave. No need to rebury them.”

Wei Xiaoxiao had already gone to reincarnation. There was no point in those false rituals. It was better for the couple to save the money for good deeds.

Chu Yi sighed inwardly. Wei Xiaoxiao’s parents had paid a price too. They were fated to have another child, but their mess had ruined it… But there was no need to tell them that.

Chu Yi took out his Mobile Phone and started fiddling with it. Yu Qingxian asked curiously, “What are you doing?”

Playing on his phone at a time like this?

Chu Yi gave up after typing two characters and handed the Mobile Phone over. “You do it instead. Help me notify the Special Affairs Office and have them investigate that middle-aged man. I suspect he’s cultivating some evil technique.”
