Chapter 60: Advance Payment Part 1

Fu Zheng didn’t believe it.

He felt that everything was just Tao Zhi brushing him off.

He had kissed a guy and still claimed to be straight—who would believe that?

No matter who believed it, Fu Zheng didn’t. He wasn’t a three-year-old kid. He stubbornly insisted that Tao Zhi was lying, but he couldn’t figure out why he would lie. What was wrong with admitting he was gay?

Fu Zheng frowned and pondered for a long while, but he didn’t come to any conclusion. Instead, he saw Fu Si Heng walking over, and his face immediately fell. He had no time to think about those things anymore, and his tone was very sharp: “Why haven’t you rolled out yet?”

In the past, Fu Si Heng had always just dumped him at the hospital and left.

Why wasn’t he leaving now? So damn annoying.

Fu Zheng tried to get up to block his path toward Tao Zhi, but the nurse pressed on his wound again, and he instantly couldn’t hold back. He grimaced in pain.

Fu Si Heng ignored Fu Zheng.

He had actually finished his call long ago. When Tao Zhi said, “Although I was kissing your brother, that doesn’t mean I’m gay,” he had been listening.

Like Fu Zheng, he was shocked by the statement, and his steps halted, which was why he only came over now.

Though he found it ridiculous, Fu Si Heng didn’t take it too seriously.

In his view, Tao Zhi was just being stubborn.

They had done everything but the final step, and Tao Zhi didn’t resist—in fact, he even moaned so nicely. How could he possibly be straight?

The kid just couldn’t accept it temporarily. Give him some time.

Boil the frog in warm water—he had plenty of time to take it slow with Tao Zhi.

Fu Si Heng convinced himself like this. Though a faint unease lingered in his heart, he ignored it.

He simply redirected that bit of displeasure onto Fu Zheng.

“That’s enough. Let’s leave it at that.” Fu Si Heng glanced at Fu Zheng’s face. The areas that needed medicine had been treated. Today, he had been very measured in his blows—all just superficial wounds, nothing serious.

He dismissed the medical staff and then sat down on Tao Zhi’s left side.

Fu Si Heng sat on the left, Fu Zheng on the right, and Tao Zhi was the pitiful sandwich in the middle, surrounded by two intimidating men. He felt immense pressure, trembling slightly as he nervously twiddled his fingers.

“Fine, I won’t argue with you about this. If you want to be straight, then be straight.” The invisible battle had begun.

Fu Si Heng had called away the doctor, but Fu Zheng beat him to it and pulled Tao Zhi’s attention: “I have something else to ask you.”

Sure enough, Tao Zhi turned his head naturally upon hearing him, leaving Fu Si Heng with only a profile view.

The soft, gentle lines of his profile, with the slightly puffed cheek that made one want to bite it. Because of Fu Zheng’s words, he tilted his face up slightly, his eyes naturally looking over with a hint of confusion.

“What?”

“Why did you kiss Fu Si Heng?” The same question, but with a different meaning.

The previous question focused on why a straight guy would kiss Fu Si Heng. This one focused on what their relationship was, why they kissed, and if they were that close.

Tao Zhi understood, but he didn’t know how to answer. His expression was very awkward.

“Heh.” Fu Si Heng let out a light, mocking laugh from his nose.

“I wasn’t asking you!” Fu Zheng was extremely irritated right now.

Irritated and breaking down. He had been gritting his teeth and suppressing his anger on this topic from the start, and now Fu Si Heng was here stealing the spotlight.

“Why are you making a sound!”

“Don’t fight, don’t fight.” Yelling and shouting in a hospital was really too rude. Tao Zhi was a university student who followed social norms, was polite, and civilized.

He hurriedly pulled at Fu Zheng’s arm: “This is a public place.”

“Fu Zheng…” Tao Zhi coaxed him gently.

Fu Zheng: “…”

He was just acting cute.

With a face ashen, Fu Zheng reluctantly shut up for Tao Zhi’s sake.

“What do you think is the reason for two men kissing?”

Tao Zhi had just stopped Fu Zheng when Fu Si Heng piped up again.

A calm voice, indifferent attitude, yet every word danced on Fu Zheng’s nerves.

Fu Si Heng: “Obviously, Tao Zhi is my—”

“Sir, sir, don’t add fuel to the fire.” Seeing Fu Zheng about to explode again, Tao Zhi hurriedly turned his head and anxiously grabbed Fu Si Heng’s sleeve to stop him from continuing.

Fu Si Heng lowered his gaze.

Slender, pale fingers rested on the black suit jacket, knuckles slightly bent, touching the hard muscle beneath.

Tao Zhi is touching me, Fu Si Heng thought.

“Let me explain, let me explain.” There had never been a moment when Tao Zhi wanted to come clean more than now.

Tao Zhi stopped both of them at once and took a deep breath: “You two stop talking. Let me explain.”

“It went like this…”

In less than a week, he had confessed the only sneaky thing he had ever done in his life—twice. Tao Zhi really couldn’t take it anymore.

Ah? Me?

Ah? Me?

Tao Zhi had struggled immensely to make it from the countryside to the big city through sheer hard work on the exams. His family was dirt poor and couldn't afford to send him to university, so he shouldered student loans and scraped by with part-time jobs. He juggled classes and work, heading out early and dragging himself home late, pinching every single yuan until it screamed. Life was brutally tough. Until a rich second-generation heir moved into his dorm as a roommate. The roommate was fierce. Bad-tempered, petty, and loaded with young master syndrome. On his very first day, he bossed Tao Zhi around, making him wash his clothes, polish his shoes, attend classes in his place, and fetch his packages. ...And then handed him a thousand yuan as a hardship fee. Tao Zhi, who had just been inwardly griping about how over-the-top this new roommate was: Huh??? The little money-grubber's eyes lit up. - From that day on, Tao Zhi dutifully stepped up as the rich heir's little lackey. When the roommate ate, he passed the chopsticks. When he drank water, he twisted off the cap. When the roommate bullied someone... he hung back, using his own scrawny frame to prop up the scene. But he didn't quite nail the act and got chewed out for it. That night, he rushed to the library and crammed through over a dozen novels, studying up on how to play the haughty, overbearing lackey. One weekend. Tao Zhi had just returned from the library when he spotted an uninvited guest in the dorm. Dressed in a sharp suit, exuding a cold, imposing aura. The man stood before the roommate, wiping blood from his knuckles. His gleaming leather shoe ground Tao Zhi's god of wealth—his roommate—into the floor. "If I catch you stirring up trouble at school again, you're out." Tao Zhi was petrified. He stood there frozen, not daring to twitch. Only after the man left did he scramble over to help his roommate up. The roommate gritted his teeth, wiped the blood from his nose, and spat at Tao Zhi, word by word: "I order you to seduce my brother, toy with him, then dump him hard. Steal his company's trade secrets while you're at it. I'm seizing power—I want *him* gone!" Tao Zhi: "?" Huh? Tao Zhi's vision went black. Thinking back to the man's icy demeanor, he collapsed straight to the floor and jabbed a finger at himself. "M-Me?" ** Reading Guide: 1. Both pure, mutual first loves.
