◎ Xie You Stole Our Third Master’s Partner ◎
Wen Tong was serious.
He was straight. He didn’t like men.
Death would be different. He wouldn’t feel anything anyway—Lu Fei could do whatever he wanted with his corpse.
Seeing no reaction from Lu Fei, he added, “Once I’m dead, you can do whatever you want.”
The way he was trying to sell his own corpse amused Lu Fei. He was laughing inside, but he didn’t let it show.
He said casually, “That won’t do.”
“I like them with some fight in them. It gets me going.”
His expression was as lazy as ever. Wen Tong studied him for a moment but couldn’t tell whether he was joking or stating a fact.
He cursed him as a psycho in his head, then thought of Bai Yue.
Bai Yue was so much better-looking than him, yet Lu Fei only had eyes for Wen Tong.
He had a feeling the pervert was telling the truth: he liked resistance, which meant he had no interest in Bai Yue, who had taken his beating obediently.
Mistake. He should never have thrown that punch.
Wen Tong felt a pang of regret, lowered his eyes, and decided that from now on, he would be an obedient, boring man.
Half an hour later, the vehicle pulled into CT10 Pier at Xingyun Port.
Green Face parked in a corner, got out, took a box from the trunk, and handed it into the back seat.
Wen Tong watched Lu Fei open it. Inside were a change of clothes and some cash.
The cash clearly wasn’t RMB. Before he could make out the currency, a piece of clothing was tossed onto his face.
“Put it on,” Lu Fei said.
Wen Tong pulled the clothes off his face and looked up to find Lu Fei already shirtless.
The windows were tinted black, making the interior dim, but he could still clearly see the many wounds on Lu Fei’s waist, abdomen, and back.
Knife wounds, bullet wounds—some shallow, some deep. They were frightening, yet they fit Lu Fei’s aura perfectly, adding to his feral air.
Perhaps sensing Wen Tong’s gaze on the wounds, Lu Fei asked as he dressed, “Scared?”
What was there to fear about healed wounds? Wen Tong curled his lip.
Once dressed, Lu Fei turned and saw Wen Tong still in the bloodstained hoodie. “Hurry up and change.”
Wen Tong hugged the clothes and asked, “Now?”
“What else?” Lu Fei glanced at him. “You want someone to see the blood on you?”
Wen Tong took a deep breath and reminded himself that Lu Fei was a bastard and not to snap back.
Lu Fei said, “If you don’t change, you’re welcome to go out naked.”
Wen Tong: “…”
He gritted his back teeth and forced down the urge to swear.
He didn’t want to change simply because he had nothing on under the hoodie and didn’t want to strip naked in front of a dangerous man like Lu Fei.
Wen Tong looked down at the T-shirt in his hands, thought for a moment, and instead of taking off the hoodie, pulled the T-shirt on over it.
Just like that, he layered a patterned T-shirt over his hoodie.
“Done.”
Lu Fei looked at his bizarre outfit. It should have looked ridiculous, but with Wen Tong’s face in the equation, the getup somehow became oddly cute.
He pushed open the door and got out, stood beside the car, one hand braced on the roof, and leaned down to warn Wen Tong inside: “If you dare run even one step on this stretch, I’ll find one more man to fuck you.”
The threat landed. Wen Tong gave a reluctant “Oh.”
The pier was already bustling with workers.
Lu Fei knew Wen Tong would pull something the moment he got a chance. He held his hand out in front of Wen Tong and ordered, “Hold on. Stay close.”
Wen Tong didn’t plan to resist, but he didn’t want to touch Lu Fei’s hand. A thought struck him; he slowly reached out and caught Lu Fei’s sleeve.
He didn’t even want to touch more of Lu Fei’s clothes than necessary. He pinched the sleeve between his index finger and thumb—a token grip—and got out of the car with his head down.
Lu Fei lowered his eyes, his attention fixed entirely on Wen Tong’s hand.
Wen Tong’s hand was beautiful—pale and slender, his nails a faint pink. Because he was pinching the fabric with only his index finger and thumb, his fingertips had gone white from the effort, while the pads flushed an arresting light red, like flower buds.
The cuff dipped slightly under the pull, and for a moment, Lu Fei’s heart seemed to dip with it.
He pressed his lips together. “Keep hold of it.”
The pier was noisy; Wen Tong couldn’t catch his tone and took it for a question. He nodded. “I’m holding it.”
The clear, pleasant voice reached his ears. Something flickered in Lu Fei’s eyes. He ignored the strange feeling in his chest and started forward.
Wen Tong walked beside him, eyes darting everywhere.
It was eight in the morning, and the pier workers were already at work. They hurried past, wholly absorbed in the tasks in their hands, eyes fixed on the containers around them. Not one spared Wen Tong a glance.
Wen Tong looked around but didn’t see anyone resembling security or police.
Soon they reached a yacht.
It wasn’t the shabby little boat Wen Tong had imagined. It stood four decks high, unexpectedly luxurious—at first glance, it looked like a villa floating on the water.
A middle-aged man stood at the entrance. Seeing Lu Fei and the others, he bowed his head respectfully. “Third Master.”
“The fuel tank is full. It’ll get you to the island.”
Lu Fei grunted in acknowledgment and stepped aboard.
The four of them boarded. The taciturn driver who had been driving the SUV headed straight for the helm.
The engine started with a roar, churning the water. The yacht slowly pulled away from the pier.
“Watch him. I’m going to shower,” Lu Fei said, then headed into the cabin.
“Yes,” Green Face and Qiang Ji said, nodding in unison.
Wen Tong watched Lu Fei’s back until he disappeared. Only then did his tense body relax a little.
He let out a breath and found a chair to sit on.
Wen Tong raised his eyes and sized up the two “door gods” standing in front of him.
They both looked to be in their twenties, at least six feet tall, broad and muscular, chests out, backs straight. They stood as if trained, carrying themselves like soldiers—not ordinary thugs.
Wen Tong blinked and began to think through his mission.
The mission was to be kidnapped alongside Bai Yue and die by the kidnappers’ guns. No specific time or place had been given—meaning neither was restricted.
He was still in the kidnappers’ hands. If he got shot dead during this time, it would count as completing the mission.
The question was: how was he supposed to die by the kidnappers’ guns?
These underlings obeyed Lu Fei without question. Without his order, they would never shoot him.
The simplest, crudest method was to make Lu Fei shoot him.
Lu Fei did want to fire at him—just not with a pistol. The gun he had in mind was the one between his legs.
At that thought, Wen Tong couldn’t help curling his fingers, unconsciously picking at the chair.
After a moment, he ventured, “Does he kill people often?”
Green Face and Qiang Ji exchanged a glance. They knew “he” meant Lu Fei.
Qiang Ji nodded.
Green Face shook his head.
The two exchanged another look. Green Face’s mouth twitched, and he hissed, “What are you nodding for?! In front of our sister-in-law—have you no sense of occasion?”
Wen Tong: “???”
“Who’s your sister-in-law?”
Green Face apologized at once. “Sorry, Madam. My mistake.”
Wen Tong: “…”
Madam, my ass.
He couldn’t help reminding them, “I’m your hostage right now.”
Green Face nodded vigorously. “Yes. Whatever you say.”
Wen Tong: “…”
He didn’t know when Lu Fei would finish his shower, so he stopped wasting time on the title and pressed on. “So he really doesn’t kill people often?”
“Of course,” Green Face said with a vigorous nod, expression unchanged. “How could Third Master kill people often? We’re all law-abiding citizens.”
Wen Tong stared at him blankly.
Some law-abiding citizens—murderers and kidnappers.
Green Face kept lying through his teeth. “Look at you and Bai Yue. You’re both perfectly safe, aren’t you?”
Wen Tong said dryly, “Bai Yue’s just lucky to be alive. Otherwise he’d be dead by now.”
Green Face said shamelessly, “The result is what matters.”
“Besides, Third Master didn’t kidnap you and Bai Yue because of you. It’s all because of Xie You.”
“Xie You did that to Third Master. No man could tolerate it. Third Master had no choice but to act.”
Wen Tong gave him an odd look. Xie You had said it was Lu Fei who did wrong.
Seeing that Green Face could twist black and white at will, he turned to Qiang Ji and asked, “What did Xie You do to him?”
“Xie You—” Qiang Ji began, but Green Face stepped on his foot, cutting him off.
Green Face smiled at Wen Tong. A snake coiled around a sword was tattooed on his right cheek, but his features weren’t fierce; when he smiled, he even looked somewhat amiable.
“Xie You,” Green Face said with a long sigh, as if the injustice pained him deeply, “stole our Third Master’s partner!”
Wen Tong had never heard this one before. He blanked for a second, then asked curiously, “Who?”
Green Face said two words: “You.”
Wen Tong: “…”
