Chapter 79: Satisfied

For the first time eating with Qiu Sui’s parents, Shen Zhixiao appeared perfectly natural. He answered the couple’s questions in an orderly manner, a faint, gentle smile always on his face.

If Qiu Sui hadn’t noticed Shen Zhixiao’s left hand—hidden under the table—clutching their family’s beige tablecloth into a crumpled ball, he might have believed the guy was truly at ease.

Qiu Sui had never seen Shen Zhixiao like this. Afterward, when his dad pulled him aside for a chat, he sat ramrod straight with both hands cradling a teacup, like a first-grader on their first day of school.

It was so funny that Qiu Sui snuck a photo of Shen Zhixiao and turned it into an emoji to send right back to him.

Shen Zhixiao’s phone buzzed on the table, Qiu Sui’s profile pic and note popping up. He casually covered the screen, listening to Qiu Dad while glancing back at Qiu Sui leaning against the liquor cabinet.

Qiu Sui flashed a mischievous grin and lightly raised his brow at him. The tension and stiffness churning in Shen Zhixiao’s chest eased in an instant.

Qiu Dad didn’t keep Shen Zhixiao talking for long. He handed the guy back to his eldest son, who had been “lying in wait” nearby, and told him to take Shen Zhixiao around the area to play for the next few days.

Qiu Sui gleefully bumped Shen Zhixiao’s shoulder and led him to his room for a tour.

Lady Zhuang had already tidied his room ahead of time. The bedsheets and blankets were neatly made, and the little knickknacks on the desk were arranged perfectly.

Qiu Sui’s room connected directly to a small walk-in closet without a door, offering a clear view of an entire wall of models and blind box figures lining the corridor walls.

Once the room door clicked shut, the serious, composed look on the Alpha’s face vanished. He lunged forward, wrapping his arms tightly around Qiu Sui’s waist and nuzzling bonelessly into his neck with a whine. “Uncle and Auntie aren’t dissatisfied with me, are they…?”

Qiu Sui shrugged his shoulders. For now, my dad and mom seem pretty pleased with you. But if my mom opened the door right now and saw your true face, she might change her mind.

Saying that outright would just make Shen Zhixiao smug, so Qiu Sui tilted his head up with a wicked glint. “Who knows? Hard to say.”

The licking and kissing against his neck halted abruptly. Qiu Sui couldn’t hold back his laughter and grabbed a fistful of Shen Zhixiao’s hair.

“I’m kidding. Can’t you tell how they feel about you?”

Heaven knew how his heart had skipped a beat at Qiu Sui’s words. Shen Zhixiao pressed his sharp fangs threateningly against Qiu Sui’s neck and ground them lightly. Qiu Sui yelped, yanking his hair in a fluster. “You’ll leave a mark…!”

Shen Zhixiao pretended to suck, and Qiu Sui frantically shoved at his head—only for Shen Zhixiao to grab his cheeks and pull him into a kiss.

Besides the good-morning kiss before heading out that morning, they hadn’t kissed all day. For someone as clingy as Shen Zhixiao, who loved snatching kisses from Qiu Sui at every opportunity, it had been torture—especially since he’d have to sleep alone tonight in a cold, empty bed.

He gripped the back of Qiu Sui’s neck, slowly maneuvering him around until they faced each other. Rubbing the warm, soft flesh of Qiu Sui’s cheeks, he plunged into a deep, heavy kiss.

Qiu Sui had grown somewhat used to these devouring, ferocious kisses. His arms loosely circled Shen Zhixiao’s neck, thinking the guy was mad about his teasing. A fragmented smile slipped through during the kiss, his lips curving up slightly.

After all, they were in Qiu Sui’s house, so Shen Zhixiao didn’t dare go too wild. Finally, he released Qiu Sui’s lips with a rough growl, eyes dark and wolfish yet a bit aggrieved as he pecked Qiu Sui’s lower lip. His voice hoarse, he murmured, “If only we were already married.”

Then, after meeting the parents, they could just head home together.

“Just imagine it, then.” Qiu Sui pressed their foreheads together, lips quirked in a soft tease, his warm breath teasing like little hooks dancing everywhere in front of Shen Zhixiao.

Shen Zhixiao stared into those upturned peach-blossom eyes, entranced, wanting to kiss him again.

But Lady Zhuang’s voice drifted faintly from outside. He could only grind their noses together reluctantly before letting go.

Even so, Qiu Sui looked thoroughly ravished. Shen Zhixiao had kneaded his cheeks too hard—now they were flushed pink, and his lips were wet and red from the kissing.

Luckily, Lady Zhuang didn’t barge right in. She just knocked and, hearing their responses, smiled and asked if Shen Zhixiao wanted to go out for a stroll.

Qiu Sui answered for him, then punched Shen Zhixiao after checking his reflection and seeing his wrecked state.

Stepping out of the room, Shen Zhixiao reverted to his mature, steady demeanor, chatting politely with Lady Zhuang. Standing beside him, Qiu Sui inwardly grumbled, Looks all proper but is a total dog inside.

Stream City’s nightscape was vibrant and beautiful. Qiu Sui’s home was close to the commercial district—a few minutes’ walk and they were there.

Lady Zhuang enthusiastically took Shen Zhixiao to check out Stream City’s hot night spots, then for some sweet soup. On the way back, she set plans for dim sum together tomorrow morning.

Zhuang Ni glanced at the time—it wasn’t early anymore. Gripping the steering wheel, she asked with concern, “Where’s Xiao Xiao staying? We’ll drop you off first to rest.”

“No worries, Auntie. I’ll head back with you all—it’s not far.” Shen Zhixiao smiled.

At the neighborhood entrance, Qiu Sui hopped out too, telling his mom he was walking Shen Zhixiao back.

The teasing glint in Zhuang Ni’s eyes nearly overflowed.

Qiu Sui’s face burned as he bolted from the car. Crossing the crosswalk with Shen Zhixiao, he sneaked a hand to pinch his neck, whispering, “Happy now? I can stick around a bit longer.”

Mindful of Zhuang Ni spotting them, Shen Zhixiao didn’t dare cup Qiu Sui’s head for a kiss. He just held his hand, intimately rubbing his palm, and chuckled lowly that yes, he was happy.

Shen Zhixiao’s place was nearby—a few minutes’ walk. Qiu Sui’s job was just to see him to the gate, but Shen Zhixiao was too clingy, dawdling at the entrance while holding his hand.

The security guard’s gaze swept over occasionally, making Qiu Sui mortified. He shoved Shen Zhixiao’s head. “I’ll walk you upstairs.”

Upstairs, Shen Zhixiao’s true colors fully emerged, shoving Qiu Sui’s clothes aside for endless neck kisses.

The weather had warmed lately; Qiu Sui wore just a jacket over a base layer for warmth. Now, Shen Zhixiao had him pinned against the entryway cabinet, kissing down to his neck.

Qiu Sui arched back slightly, hands fumbling at Shen Zhixiao’s head buried in his chest. Biting his lip, he struggled to breathe steadily.

Qiu Sui wouldn’t let him kiss his face, so Shen Zhixiao targeted hidden spots, his palm intimately stroking Qiu Sui’s lean, powerful waist.

The onslaught of sensitive touches made Qiu Sui’s legs tremble, his voice unsteady. “O-okay? I need to go.”

The Alpha bit down reluctantly, and Qiu Sui’s back bowed, tears pricking his eyes.

Shen Zhixiao emerged from under his clothes, breath hot as he lightly kissed Qiu Sui’s lips before releasing him.

As Qiu Sui turned to leave, Shen Zhixiao followed to see him off.

Qiu Sui pressed his shoulders, half-laughing. “I’m seeing you off, then you see me off—we’ll be at this all night and never get home.”

Shen Zhixiao swallowed hard, unable to resist touching Qiu Sui’s face. The more he looked, the more he wanted to kiss. Finally reining himself in, he murmured, “I’ll just walk you to the neighborhood gate…”

Seeing those pitiful drooping eyes, Qiu Sui relented and let him come down.

Leaving the neighborhood, Qiu Sui felt the guard’s puzzled stare again, utterly embarrassed. He turned to Shen Zhixiao with a goodbye.

But Shen Zhixiao didn’t leave, standing there to watch him go.

Qiu Sui had crossed the first crosswalk, nearly out of sight, when he glanced back. Shen Zhixiao was still rooted like a pole, staring unwaveringly. Sensing the look, he even waved.

Shen Zhixiao must’ve watched my back like this so many times before.

Qiu Sui had that sudden thought.

But I’d never once turned to meet his gaze.

Seeing Shen Zhixiao’s silly stance, Qiu Sui grinned foolishly and waved back before continuing on.

Without Shen Zhixiao to warm his bed that night, Qiu Sui slept restlessly, even though it was his own bed from years ago.

But thinking of dim sum together the next morning, he rolled over and forced himself to sleep. When Shen Zhixiao knocked to wake him, he was still groggy.

Lady Zhuang was knocking next door, calling Qiu Shun. Her voice filtered faintly through the crack.

On vacation, Qiu Sui slept in every day. Rising this early felt like part of his soul had been yanked out.

He burrowed in bed forever until Shen Zhixiao fished him up for washing. His eyes cracked open just a slit.

When he returned from the bathroom, Shen Zhixiao had neatly made the bed and even pulled a full outfit from the closet like the man of the house.

Forgetting Shen Zhixiao was there, Qiu Sui sluggishly stripped off his sleepwear to change.

The Alpha beside him watched his back arch and skin tense as he bent over, subconsciously licking his lips. Soon, the pale view was covered by clothes.

Shen Zhixiao’s eyes dropped to Qiu Sui undoing his pants, but as soon as Qiu Sui’s hand touched the waistband, he whipped around. Shen Zhixiao’s gaze gleamed like a wolf on the prowl.

Qiu Sui bolted into the bathroom without a word, denying him.

The dim sum spot bustled at seven or eight, families chatting noisily.

Qiu Sui, who’d never had dim sum in Sea City, revived as baskets arrived. In ten minutes, he’d downed two cages of shrimp dumplings and a beef ho fun.

While chatting with Shen Zhixiao, Zhuang Ni didn’t forget Qiu Sui. “Xiao Xiao’s only been to Stream City once. Take him to Xincheng for shopping or a scenic spot later. The shop’s busy over break—your dad and I won’t have time to hang out after this.”

Qiu Sui mumbled around Shen Zhixiao’s shrimp dumplings. “Of course. I’m taking him to play ball with Lin Kai and them this afternoon. Probably won’t be home for dinner.”

Maybe even crash out overnight.

“Sounds great! Introduce Xiao Xiao so everyone gets to know each other.” Zhuang Ni beamed, then regaled Shen Zhixiao with Qiu Sui’s high school mishaps with friends.

Qiu Sui didn’t need to guess: tales of tardiness with Qiao Keren, spraining his hand in a class basketball game, getting caught sneaking out for hotpot during training camp. His ears burned hotter with each one, interrupting repeatedly.

“Aw, sorry! I won’t say more—you chat with Xiao Xiao yourself.”

Zhuang Ni laughed as she spoke. Feeling Shen Zhixiao’s gaze, Qiu Sui’s ears scorched. He propped his face and stuffed his mouth.

Zhuang Ni really couldn’t linger—gone by nine-thirty.

Qiu Shun, stuffed on half dogfood and half dim sum amid his bro’s undercurrents, grabbed a call and fled.

It was nearly ten now. Qiu Sui, full, followed Shen Zhixiao out, fiddling restlessly with the drawstrings on his hoodie.

Stream City’s sun warmed things right up. Coming from the chilly house into sunlight, they shed jackets, down to matching hoodies.

Qiu Sui planned to take Shen Zhixiao to Xincheng, but he wasn’t into shopping. In the end, they headed back to Shen Zhixiao’s neighborhood together.
