Chapter 82: Reunion

Qiu Sui pulled his luggage toward the exit and immediately spotted Shen Zhixiao’s figure, standing out head and shoulders above the crowd.

The Alpha stood about ten meters away. When he saw Qiu Sui, a faint smile instantly softened his expressionless face. Joy lit his eyes as he waved gently.

Qiu Sui’s heart began to race uncontrollably. He quickened his pace, dragging his suitcase closer and closer, until he couldn’t hold back any longer. He released the handles and leaped straight into the arms of the Alpha, who had opened them wide.

Shen Zhixiao caught him steadily, wrapping his arms around Qiu Sui’s waist and pulling him tight. His breathing grew heavy as he buried his face in the warm crook of Qiu Sui’s neck.

The familiar scent and body heat made them both tremble uncontrollably. They forgot everything around them, wanting only to close their eyes and savor this moment’s reality.

Qiu Sui had no idea how long they clung to each other like that, oblivious to the world. His forehead rested against Shen Zhixiao’s shoulder, where he could feel the Alpha’s palm gently kneading the ends of his hair and the hot rush of breath against his neck. A dense itch bloomed deep in his chest.

“Baby.”

The Alpha beside him murmured the word, his voice more real and magnetic than over video calls.

Qiu Sui nuzzled his head against Shen Zhixiao’s shoulder. With his face buried, his muffled reply came out nasally: “Hm?”

“Did you spray perfume?” Shen Zhixiao asked with a chuckle, lightly sniffing the side of his neck.

Qiu Sui’s ears visibly reddened at the words. His whole body stiffened, and it took him a long moment before he let out a quiet “Mm.”

Shen Zhixiao tilted his head to brush a kiss against that heated skin. He desperately wanted to cup Qiu Sui’s face and kiss him properly, but knowing it might make the other bristle, he settled for pressing his lips to Qiu Sui’s earlobe instead.

He slowly released the person in his arms and studied Qiu Sui’s face intently.

The brief ten or twenty days apart hadn’t changed Qiu Sui at all. Those dark, bright eyes gazed up at him, soul-stealing in their intensity, leaving Shen Zhixiao utterly captivated.

He stroked Qiu Sui’s cheek and asked with concern if he was hungry, what he wanted for lunch.

Qiu Sui’s flight had departed just after eight, landing in Sea City past ten.

He nodded and reached for the suitcase handles, but Shen Zhixiao had already grabbed them first.

Qiu Sui had risen early for the flight, and turbulence on board had kept him from napping. Once in the car, he barely exchanged a few words with Shen Zhixiao before dozing off in a haze. Seeing this, Shen Zhixiao eased off the accelerator.

Back at the apartment, Qiu Sui was still yawning.

Shen Zhixiao cupped his face for a kiss, then tucked him into bed. “Cooking will take a bit,” he said softly. “Sleep a little more.”

Qiu Sui wasn’t as sleepy as before, but with the covers tucked in and curtains drawn, he burrowed under the blankets, inhaling Shen Zhixiao’s scent with a hum, and closed his eyes. He woke again right at mealtime.

While Qiu Sui slept, Shen Zhixiao went all out in the kitchen, preparing a full table of dishes.

Qiu Sui tended to wolf down his food when hungry. Shen Zhixiao had to grab him by the collar several times to remind him to slow down before he finally settled.

Like a bottomless pit, he polished off the entire spread, then lounged on the sofa with his stuffed belly, digesting lazily. Unbeknownst to him, nerves began to build about tomorrow’s visit to Shen Zhixiao’s family at the Main Residence.

The Alpha, having loaded the dishes into the dishwasher and washed his hands, came over to Qiu Sui and rubbed his belly. The abs had temporarily vanished beneath a thin layer of softness.

Qiu Sui had low body fat and a lean constitution; even with a big appetite, he didn’t gain weight easily.

In a way, Shen Zhixiao felt they complemented each other perfectly.

Qiu Sui let out a soft hum at the touch and nudged Shen Zhixiao’s side waist, probing: “Tell me about your family quick. I’m scared I won’t know how to answer if they ask me stuff.”

He wasn’t as quick on his feet as Shen Zhixiao. When nervous, his mind blanked, leaving him frozen.

Staring blankly at Shen Zhixiao’s family would be mortifying.

Shen Zhixiao let out an “Hm?” His other hand suddenly pinched Qiu Sui’s approaching cheek, pursing his lips into a slight pout.

Qiu Sui blinked up at him, waiting for an answer. Shen Zhixiao chuckled lowly, unable to resist leaning down to kiss him.

Are you even listening to me?!

Qiu Sui screamed internally, but his body responded obediently to the tongue slipping in. In moments, he was kissed senseless, slumping against the sofa and panting heavily.

Shen Zhixiao touched his cheek, then poked at his long, dark lashes. Unable to hold back, he kissed Qiu Sui’s forehead again. “I’ve already told them everything,” he said warmly. “Tomorrow’s just a simple meet-and-greet over dinner. No issues.”

Qiu Sui had seen how his own parents grilled Shen Zhixiao for over an hour, then chatted half the afternoon over tea. If it were him, he wasn’t sure he could handle it.

With strangers, Qiu Sui struggled to keep up enthusiasm for long. He dreaded killing the conversation.

Hearing this, he relaxed a bit, shifting to look up at Shen Zhixiao. “Your dad won’t be too scary, right?”

Qiu Sui recalled Shen Zhixiao’s description and pictured a cold, stern figure.

In truth, he wasn’t far off.

Shen Zhixiao’s father was a domineering S-Rank Alpha with absolute authority in the family. Living under the same roof as another S-Rank Alpha like Shen Zhixiao often sparked friction.

Not to mention Shen Zhixiao’s lingering resentment over his father once urging his mother to abort his younger brother, then kicking her out, and later hiring people to forcibly confine him, preventing him from searching for Qiu Sui.

Shen Zhixiao didn’t elaborate, only saying they just didn’t get along. From as far back as he could remember, his father hadn’t liked him much, though he was even-tempered with everyone else. Not exactly “scary.”

Qiu Sui wanted to punch his earlier self for asking. He tugged at his brows with an “Aww,” then awkwardly comforted: “Your dad might just… um, have high expectations for you, so he’s strict…”

Shen Zhixiao lowered his eyelids and nuzzled Qiu Sui’s head. “He’s not like that with my brother.”

Qiu Sui choked, clenching his fists and punching the air. “That’s so biased! Don’t think about him anymore…”

He inched closer, flushing with embarrassment as he lowered his voice to mumble: “Don’t you have me? I’ll bias toward you from now on.”

The Alpha against his head paused, then his brows lifted. He pinched Qiu Sui’s heated ear and murmured, “Really?”

“Everything biased toward me?”

The words felt off, Qiu Sui thought.

Before he could dwell, Shen Zhixiao nudged insistently with a low “Hm?”

Interrupted, Qiu Sui nodded along. “Toward you. All toward you.”

Pleased with the answer, Shen Zhixiao laughed joyfully, cupping Qiu Sui’s face for sloppy pecks that left his head lolling.

Just a verbal promise, and he’s this happy. He’s so easy to please, Qiu Sui thought.

But he regretted it the next second.

The Alpha, kissing from cheek to the side of his neck, suddenly mumbled thickly: “Then, can I give you a Temporary Mark anytime I want, baby?”

Qiu Sui met Shen Zhixiao’s dark eyes and shrank back sensitively. His Gland at the nape already throbbed with conditioned heat. He wanted to take back his words right then.

Shen Zhixiao pressed a finger to his lips, drooping his eyes pitifully. “You just said you’d bias toward me in everything…”

No, that’s not what I meant! Qiu Sui wailed inwardly.

“Baby…” Shen Zhixiao leaned forehead to forehead, dragging out the word to play pitiful.

Qiu Sui’s lashes fluttered in defeat. He pried away the finger on his lips and muttered, flustered: “Not outside. No biting.”

Shen Zhixiao’s pitiful look vanished. Victorious, he agreed.

Qiu Sui didn’t understand Shen Zhixiao’s obsession with biting his Gland. He couldn’t retain Pheromones anyway; any Mark faded no matter how many times.

He chalked it up to the Alpha lacking security. Alphas claimed sovereignty through Pheromones, after all.

Shen Zhixiao started licking and biting at his Gland, injecting Pheromones. Qiu Sui’s body tensed rigidly as pain and intense numbness exploded from his nape.

It wasn’t all pain—the sensitive skin brought a secret physiological thrill too.

After the Mark, Qiu Sui briefly carried the scent of Shen Zhixiao’s Green Tea Pheromones, claiming ownership. But he only smelled his own green tea perfume, head against Shen Zhixiao’s shoulder as he panted softly.

Shen Zhixiao carefully licked the wound clean. Once the throbbing pain passed, electric pleasure took over. Qiu Sui’s breaths quickened.

If not for tomorrow’s trip to the Main Residence, Shen Zhixiao would’ve stripped him bare and dragged him to bed long ago.

Over a month without intimacy—enduring his Susceptible Period through sheer will—had stoked his desires fiercely.

For now, he held back, settling for Qiu Sui’s hand.

Qiu Sui braced against Shen Zhixiao’s collarbone, watching. His chest heaved wildly. Even as Shen Zhixiao wiped him clean with a wet tissue, he hadn’t recovered.

Shen Zhixiao kissed his flushed cheek, eyeing Qiu Sui’s dazed gaze. With a low chuckle, he asked: “Besides that video time, have you secretly done it yourself lately?”

Images flashed in Qiu Sui’s mind. His lashes trembled, throat bobbing silently.

Shen Zhixiao hummed questioningly, fixing his waistband. “Have you, baby?”

Qiu Sui dodged shyly. Of course—who wouldn’t?

The Alpha wouldn’t let go, teasingly pressing close until Qiu Sui cracked, blurting: “Yes!”

Shen Zhixiao felt no shame discussing it, nose to nose as he probed: “How many times? When?”

Qiu Sui bristled all over, eyes squeezed shut. “Dunno.”

Shen Zhixiao laughed lowly in his ear. Qiu Sui wanted to hit him. He clapped a hand over Shen Zhixiao’s face, shoving him onto the sofa and clawing wildly, leaving the Alpha’s sweater a tangled mess.
