“Zhizhi, move the camera up a bit more.”
A low, magnetic voice emerged from the earpiece.
Liang Zhixia fiddled with his phone and obediently shifted the camera upward. In a aggrieved tone, he said, “I’m already speaking in a male voice. Why won’t you believe me?”
The video feed on the other end showed only a white wall and that hand—the one that made him want to lick his screen. Watching in video was completely different from looking at a photo. L’s hand was so sexy. While complaining, he secretly took a screenshot for his collection.
Amid the hazy sound of running water, L’s voice rang out again. “How do I know you didn’t use a voice changer? Lots of people do that these days.”
“You’re just… being unreasonable!”
He gritted his teeth, deciding to go all out. After all, he’d already sent those photos, and they were both guys.
It was totally normal for buddies to check out each other’s abs and pecs.
With that, he yanked up his sleepshirt, revealing his flat chest dotted with two small, exquisite nipples. Below that were the faint outlines of his abdominal muscles.
“Now do you believe me? I’m really a guy.”
He quietly sucked in a breath, trying to make his abs stand out more.
Little did he know, the man on the other end of the video was staring intently at his stomach, his gaze burning with obsession. Zhizhi’s belly was so white and soft, with a thin layer of skin stretched over beautifully defined lines—even his navel was adorable.
He ogled without restraint, as if marking his territory or scouting the perfect spot.
It could probably reach there.
When the time came, he’d grab Zhizhi’s hand and make him touch it. Zhizhi would surely be startled, then cry in that pitiful way, and he could lick away those tears.
In a husky voice, he said, “Zhizhi, pinch yourself.”
“?” Liang Zhixia tilted his head in confusion. “What?”
L drawled slowly, “I need to confirm you’re not wearing a muscle shirt.”
What the hell?
Liang Zhixia frowned. His abs were the real deal!
And L had the nerve to suspect they were fake!
No guy could tolerate that!
He zoomed the camera in closer. His slender fingers trailed down the contours of his abs, occasionally pinching the thin skin of his belly.
After giving a full display from every angle, he huffed at the screen. “See? My abs are real—not fake at all!”
L’s voice came through the speaker, sounding a little breathless. “Then can Zhizhi let me appreciate them a bit more? I’ve never seen such beautiful abs.”
Being complimented on his abs by a guy with an incredible physique made Liang Zhixia feel a rush of pride. He lifted his chin slightly and granted magnanimously, “Fine.”
On the other side, Lu Quan reached out and muted his audio. He felt the burning heat pooling in his lower abdomen and furrowed his brow in restraint. His long fingers dangled limply, veins bulging faintly on his arms as he threw his head back, gasping for air.
The gorgeous little treasure on the video was still innocently holding up his shirt, showing off that stunning body.
Though he couldn’t see that beautiful face, Lu Quan could picture Baby’s expression perfectly: delicate brows lightly furrowed, the corners of his eyes and lips flushed red and glistening with moisture. When he spoke, his tongue would peek out unintentionally—trembling, wet, and soft, like it might melt right in his mouth.
The panting in the bathroom grew louder.
Liang Zhixia had been holding up his shirt for ages, but he heard no more words from the other end—not even the sound of water.
He lowered his aching arm, letting his shirt fall back over his stomach, and breathed a sigh of relief. Sure, showing off his abs was fun, but holding his breath that long was exhausting.
“L, you still there?”
He chattered on for a bit, but there was no response.
“Did it lag?”
He shook his phone, and for a split second, that pretty face appeared in the frame. Lu Quan caught a clear glimpse.
Just as he’d imagined—Zhizhi’s lips were indeed beautifully red, begging to be kissed.
…
…
Just as Liang Zhixia was about to end the call, a muffled grunt came from the other side, followed by the sound of something spraying out.
The audio wasn’t very clear, so he asked worriedly, “What happened? Are you okay?”
A moment later, L’s slightly panting voice replied. “It’s nothing. I bumped into the shower gel and accidentally squeezed some out.”
Liang Zhixia muttered under his breath, “Who told you to video call me while you’re in the shower?”
L let out a soft chuckle, his voice lazy and languid, carrying that post-climax haze. “It’s also a way to prove you’re a guy.”
“…”
What nonsense.
“So, do you believe me now?”
“I do.”
Liang Zhixia let out a deep breath of relief. L finally believed he was a guy.
“You know I lied to you, so… you don’t like me anymore?”
Lu Quan, who was drying off, arched a brow and smirked wickedly. “Baby, I never said that if you’re a guy, I won’t like you.”
“Then what do you mean?”
The man’s half-naked body suddenly filled the frame. His chiseled waist leaned forward toward the camera, a pale wrist resting against his neck. Liang Zhixia could even see L’s Adam’s apple bobbing.
“What are you doing…”
The proximity felt too intense.
Liang Zhixia instinctively leaned back until his shoulders hit the headboard, only then realizing they were just on a video call.
Lu Quan, of course, caught Zhizhi’s adorably silly reaction and let out a low chuckle from deep in his throat.
“What I mean is, since you made me fall for you, Zhizhi, you have to take responsibility.”
“How am I supposed to do that?”
Liang Zhixia couldn’t quite wrap his head around L’s words.
Suddenly, his eyes lit up, his brows curving in excitement. “I get it! You want me to help you find a girlfriend, right?”
L didn’t respond.
Had he guessed wrong?
Tentatively, he asked, “Or… should I help you find a boyfriend?”
He frowned, mumbling to himself, “Finding a boyfriend isn’t impossible, but it might be tricky. What kind do you like? Any preferences on height, personality, or looks?”
After a long silence, L’s voice came through, flat and emotionless. “I only want you.”
The man’s low timbre wrapped around him like an embrace.
That pleasant voice hooked into his ears like a little barb.
It made his heart itch in a strange way.
He grumbled, “I never said I like guys.”
L chuckled lightly. “Zhizhi, you can’t like guys. You can only like me.”
How could anyone be so domineering?
Liang Zhixia jabbed a finger at the screen in annoyance. Suddenly, L extended his finger too, their tips aligning perfectly across the glass.
It felt like touching an electric current—a shiver raced down his spine.
Blushing furiously, he yanked his hand back.
“But I really don’t like you that way.”
He’d just… gotten used to having someone around.
L seemed to anticipate his reaction and smoothly followed up. “Let’s make it fair then. You sexually harassed me for a month, so now you owe me one back.”
“How… do I pay it back?”
L was like a big bad wolf eyeing a naive little rabbit.
“Be my boyfriend for a month.”
Before Liang Zhixia could refuse, L added, “After a month, you won’t owe me anymore.”
No more debt to L.
That struck a chord with Liang Zhixia—he hated owing anyone favors.
“I need some time to think about it.”
“Tell me your answer tomorrow morning, Zhizhi. I’ll wait.”
With that, L hung up.
So quickly that Liang Zhixia didn’t even have time to react.
He blinked at his reflection in the darkened phone screen.
He’d asked for at least a week to think, but L wanted an answer by morning.
Not even twenty-four hours.
But being L’s online boyfriend didn’t sound like a bad deal. It was just a net romance—typing messages with his fingers, no real-life meetings.
And they’d split after a month.
Pretty much like being a chat companion.
Suddenly, he remembered the real one he’d added earlier. He pulled up their chat and typed.
【Zhizhi】: Have you ever been someone’s online boyfriend?
The other person seemed to be online 24/7 and replied instantly.
【Chat Companion No.1】: Sure have, cutie. Want me to be your online boyfriend? How intense should we go?
【Zhizhi】: …
【Zhizhi】: Not for me. I want you to teach me how to do it?
【Chat Companion No.1】: Oh, gotcha (smiley face)
【Chat Companion No.1】: I can teach you—guaranteed to learn on the first try! Easy way to win them over, so they only have you in their heart, no one else.
【Zhizhi】: …
At that moment, Lu Quan emerged from the bathroom. Only then did Liang Zhixia realize how long Lu Quan’s shower had taken.
Luckily, he’d taken a long bath himself today, or Lu Quan might have overheard.
He still clearly remembered Lu Quan’s homophobia.
He absolutely couldn’t let Lu Quan find out he was about to become someone’s online boyfriend.
Otherwise, Lu Quan would kick him out of the dorm for sure.
Lu Quan’s hair was still damp. As his indifferent gaze swept over, Liang Zhixia instinctively flashed an obedient smile.
He then grabbed a notebook and pen from nearby—time to take notes for class.
On his phone, the Gold Medal Chat Companion was asking where he had gone.
Liang Zhixia hurriedly lowered his head and typed a reply.
【Zhizhi】: Here! I just went to grab a pen and notebook.
【Chat Companion No.1】: Then let’s officially get started.
He held a pen in his hand, typing replies to the Gold Medal Chat Companion with one hand while taking notes with the other. He was so busy that he completely forgot about Lu Quan for the moment.
The bed curtain in front of him was only half-drawn. Lu Quan leaned against the corner of his desk, his gaze dark and inscrutable.
From his angle, he could see every one of Zhizhi’s movements, even the expressions on his face.
He could also tell that Zhizhi was chatting with someone else—and grinning happily while doing it.
But the phone on Lu Quan’s desk remained utterly silent, without a single notification.
If it wasn’t a message for him, then who was it for?
That so-called boyfriend of his?
His long, distinct fingers tapped lightly on the desk. Suddenly, they paused as a memory surfaced.
That day, when he had returned to the dorm, he had overheard Zhizhi chatting with someone at the door.
The voice on the other end belonged to a young man.
Their conversation had sounded intimately familiar. He clearly remembered the guy on the phone saying he would steal the boss’s money to support Zhizhi after graduation.
Steal the boss’s money to support Zhizhi?
A mocking smile tugged at the corner of Lu Quan’s lips.
What right did someone like that have to like Zhizhi?
Only he could give Zhizhi the life he wanted. He would love him forever.
His slender, pale fingers toyed with his phone as his deep gaze fixed on Zhizhi. He had no idea what the other person said, but the young man laughed happily.
