Chapter 29: Hating Alpha’s Beta Part 2

The gentle demeanor Shen Anliu had shown during the live stream was nowhere to be seen. His body language screamed Alpha possessiveness and dominance, yet he wasn’t just aggressively plundering—he kissed the fingers with a hint of appeasement.

Click—

“Holy shit!”

One of the passersby finally snapped out of it and whipped out his phone to snap a few photos.

Only then did the two inside seem to react.

Shen Anliu instantly masked his injuries with an expression of mild harmlessness. He released Yu Sui but stepped forward, shielding him behind his back. “What do you all think you’re doing?”

The teammates who had witnessed the whole thing looked absolutely grim—especially Jiang Nianxing.

He even suspected Shen Anliu had orchestrated the whole thing just to get caught in this moment, so everyone would ship the two of them.

And the onlookers? They were totally hooked.

Seeing it online was nothing compared to the real thing.

Plus, Yu Sui had been crying, his lips swollen—it was hard not to imagine they’d been making out.

“Are they getting frisky in there?”

“Who said anything about a fight? Aren’t we just ruining their good time?”

Even as they said it, the clicking of phone cameras didn’t stop.

The two paparazzi, however, looked thunderstruck.

They felt utterly played.

Thinking back, they’d gotten in way too easily. The hotel had been so cooperative. And a big company like Star Sea Entertainment hadn’t gotten wind of it at all?

But entertainment reporters were quick on the uptake.

They snapped away furiously with their cameras, already plotting new headlines.

Only then did the security guards move in to disperse the crowd.

He Baiyan eyed the two reporters. “Please apologize for your behavior.”

“It was that Yu Sui who told me there was drama in your group,” one paparazzo shot back.

Caught off guard by the counterattack, the paparazzo decided to go down swinging.

The gossip-hungry passersby halted in their tracks, ears perked.

A twist?

The paparazzo pulled out his phone and tapped into his contacts.

He Baiyan snatched it from his hand.

“So you’re saying this is Yu Sui’s alt account?”

He glanced at the chat log and chuckled. “You two coordinated a secret code to get in, but Yu Sui never responded. So how exactly did you manage to barge in?”

“I…”

They were clearly in the wrong here, but hadn’t it all started because Yu Sui had reached out to them first?

“Maybe you should chat with my manager,” He Baiyan said, handing the phone back.

He then called Chen Qing and gave a quick rundown of events.

The two reporters opened their mouths to protest, but He Baiyan fixed them with a deep stare. Their bodies stiffened, and they fell silent.

The incident wrapped up for the moment, and the crowd dispersed with obvious reluctance.

They all felt this meal had been worth every penny.

A new post rocketed up the hot search rankings on Weibo.

TYE Restroom Finger Sucking#

The awkward tag left passersby baffled enough to click in—and then they were glued for ages.

[Holy shit! What the hell?]

[What are those two doing?]

[Holy shit holy shit!]

[Is this safe for work?]

[Xiao Shen’s sexual tension is off the charts. No way an Alpha’s that innocent.]

[Our Sui Sui is too delicate~]

[Damn, that crying is hot.]

[This has gotta be NSFW.]

[Staged for hype, way too posed.]

[The vibe is insane.]

[Check out that marketing energy.]

[I ship Sui Sui Ping An!]

Seeing the flood of comments, the original poster jumped in to explain the full story.

[First time seeing them up close—god-tier visuals, absolute stunners! Their eye contact was straight-up dripping with tension. No Alpha’s acting that good; Xiao Shen legit wants to devour his bro.]

“Sui Sui Ping An” was the CP name for Yu Sui and Shen Anliu. It had gained a small fanbase during their first live stream.

Unfortunately, as total newbies, they had zero exposure and no fresh content. The morning’s video and photos had glossed right over Shen Anliu, leaving the shippers starving.

Who could’ve guessed that just a few hours later, heavenly manna would drop from the sky?

The dramatic turn at the end felt straight out of a soap opera, and plenty suspected more Star Sea Entertainment hype.

[Not gonna lie, this promo’s kinda fresh.]

[Thanks, first time as an immersive background NPC. Ending shocked me for 300 years.]

[If you wanna call it a fight, sure—didn’t you see Sui Sui crying?]

[Younger gong energy is feral.]

[Star Sea Entertainment hired a genius.]

[I was eating at the restaurant too. Their acting was top-notch. Three guys blocking the door like their lives depended on it—I was heartbroken, thinking my idol had crumbled… but nope!]

[When it comes to Queerbaitingpairings, TYE reigns supreme.]

In the restroom, the captain took the two paparazzi off to wait for the manager. Lu Jinxia discussed damage control with the lobby manager.

The suddenly empty hallway left Jiang Nianxing standing alone.

With everyone gone, Yu Sui gave Shen Anliu a shove.

By then, the two had straightened their clothes and stepped out. Yu Sui had been racking his brain for a way to avoid landing on the hot search like that.

Shen Anliu picked up on his distress and felt a pang of irritation. The young man was that unwilling to be tied to him?

“If you go out now, people will notice something’s off,” Shen Anliu said. “I’ve got a plan.”

“What?” Yu Sui asked on instinct.

“When true and false blend seamlessly, fake becomes true. The company already scripted some CP bait for today—let’s lean into it while it’s hot. No one will suspect a thing.”

Yu Sui wavered.

“The more staged the pose, the more mysterious it seems.” Shen Anliu pulled him back to the sink.

After washing their hands, he trapped Yu Sui in his arms. “Don’t move. Wait for them to come in.”

Yu Sui followed his lead completely.

Seeing the chaos resolve, he let out a breath of relief.

Shen Anliu didn’t mind being pushed away. He leaned casually against the sink.

Jiang Nianxing stepped in and sized them up.

Their clothes were rumpled, and their expressions told the tale.

Jealousy twisted in his gut. “Couldn’t you two wait until you got back?”

Yu Sui started to leave but stopped dead at the words, eyes widening. “You…”

A bad feeling bloomed in his chest.

“Shen Anliu, you couldn’t hold back for even a second. Putting your master in danger without a care.” Jiang Nianxing dragged him while propping himself up. “A selfish Alpha like you doesn’t deserve to be your master’s dog!”

“Who are you calling master?” Yu Sui took a step back, genuinely startled.

“I…” Jiang Nianxing flushed, realizing he’d blurted out his inner thoughts. “I… cough… anyway, I’m your dog, so calling you master isn’t wrong, right?”

Yu Sui pressed. “What about all those messages you sent me? What’s your take?”

“I like them. Love seeing that stuff.” Jiang Nianxing answered honestly.

Yu Sui’s vision went dark.

Shen Anliu noted the gravity in Yu Sui’s expression and narrowed his eyes.

“I need to see a doctor,” Shen Anliu said, turning to Yu Sui. “Bro will come with me, right?”

Yu Sui opened his mouth but couldn’t muster a rebuttal.

Jiang Nianxing’s face twisted oddly. He glanced at Shen Anliu. “You… you two?”

He looked back at Yu Sui in shock.

“What are you staring at?” Yu Sui snapped, annoyed.

“I was drugged,” Shen Anliu explained with a straight face. Then he tugged Yu Sui away.

Jiang Nianxing frowned, doubting the story.

Yu Sui had no choice but to follow Shen Anliu.

A massive crowd clogged the restaurant entrance.

Rather than risk it, they returned to the private room to wait for the manager.

Jiang Nianxing trailed a step behind. A sudden thought struck him: if those two had done something like that, how had not a whiff of pheromones leaked out?

Yu Sui kept mentally calling for the System until it finally responded.

[You… you made out with someone?]

Yu Sui hadn’t expected that to be its opener. He gnashed his teeth. “What was that you said before? That Shen Anliu only went after Jiang Nianxing because… and then…”

He gave a vague recap of events, including Jiang Nianxing’s weirdness.

[How did this happen? Was the predecessor’s intel wrong?] The System sounded stunned.

“You…” Hearing the shock in the System’s voice, Yu Sui didn’t know what else to say.

[Let me calm down for a bit.] The System sighed. [Sorry, Host. It’s all my fault. Taking shortcuts really was a mistake.]

“This isn’t your fault.” Yu Sui comforted it. After all, the System had only meant well.

[Thank you, Host.] The System sounded grateful. [Just wait while I look into this world’s situation.]

Lu Jinxia had only discussed safety precautions before heading back to the private room ahead of the others.

The manager arrived with a team of bodyguards and made straight for his office.

He Baiyan was already there, along with the two reporters.

The moment Chen Qing walked in, the pair tensed up warily. Even so, they stuck to their story—it was the truth, after all.

“What line of work do you two plan on pursuing from here?” Chen Qing asked, his smile warm and friendly.

The implication hung unspoken in the air: they could forget about staying in this industry.

“What I said is true! It was Yu Sui from your group who approached me!” One of the men fumed inwardly, cursing himself for not recording the encounter. Yu Sui was far more calculating than he’d realized.

Chen Qing said nothing. Instead, he turned to He Baiyan. “Baiyan, were you aware of this?”

“It’s not that big a deal.” He Baiyan offered no explanations and changed the subject. “Judging by the online buzz right now, most people probably think we’re just hyping things up.”

Which was exactly what it was!

The two reporters screamed it silently in their minds. They’d been reduced to pawns in this major company’s scheme!

“Why not go with the flow, then?” He Baiyan gazed at them evenly. “You’ve both got solid acting chops, by the way.”

“I wasn’t acting!” One reporter nearly spat blood.

“Go on,” Chen Qing said, shooting their captain a meaningful look.

“Given how things are developing, we could use reporters like you,” He Baiyan added, meeting the man’s eyes directly.

Chen Qing got the picture. The story had likely unfolded just as the reporters described, but some unforeseen mishap had snowballed into the current mess.

Letting them walk would only tarnish the group’s reputation. Better to bring them on board outright.

“Do you two have a team?” Chen Qing asked.

They blinked in surprise, their eyes lighting up. “No, we don’t.”

“Want to join Star Sea Entertainment?” Chen Qing extended the offer, his expression mild.

“Us?”

Their heads spun. Who would’ve thought a sudden turn like this was possible—getting poached by a powerhouse like that?

“That’s right.”

Of course they had no objections. They’d gone independent precisely because elite firms like that never scouted them before.

He Baiyan handed them off to the manager, murmured a few words, and turned to leave.

His mind raced with bewilderment, though. Why had Yu Sui pulled a stunt like that?

And those last two… had they actually hooked up?

He quickened his pace.

Back in the private room, all four elites were present. The atmosphere hung heavy and strange.

Shen Anliu sat right beside Yu Sui, gripping his hand with unyielding determination. Yu Sui could only seethe in silent fury.

Their roles had flipped entirely.

Lu Jinxia glanced back and forth between them, utterly baffled. What kind of game was this?

How Miserable is a Straight Man Playing a Tool Character in Restricted Novels [Quick Transmigration]

直男扮演限制文工具人有多惨[快穿]
Status: Completed Native Language: Chinese

After his death, Yu Sui was bound to the System. All he had to do was play the role of a tool character in R18 novels, pushing the plot along to gather revival energy.

System: You're really just foreplay for the protagonists.

Yu Sui: Fine.

World One: Beta Who Hates Alphas

[You are a foolish Beta who hates Alphas. You disguise yourself as a high-class Alpha to infiltrate an all-Alpha boy band, using a fake identity to belittle your teammates. Out of jealousy for their talents, you become twisted, hell-bent on ruining them as you repeatedly court disaster—but you always end up hoisted by your own petard. Thanks to your schemes, the protagonists find their happy ending. Then your true identity is exposed, and brutal revenge awaits...]

Yu Sui diligently stuck to the script. By day, he trashed his teammates to build up their hatred. Behind the scenes, he pulled off one shady stunt after another.

To cook up a teammate scandal, Yu Sui used an alt account to add one of them and chat about flirty topics. But his target dove in even harder, obsessing day after day over his legs, his waist, dying to kiss his mouth...

Yu Sui was floored. Whatever happened to that deep devotion, with eyes only for the protagonist shou and everyone else just background noise? Did a dog eat that character setup?

Desperate to snap proof of infighting, he racked his brains to stir up trouble between them.

Instead of teaming up to mess with him as scripted, his teammates actually threw down for real!

All over his missing underwear...

Yu Sui: He felt a little dead inside. Exactly who the hell stole his underwear?!

The scheme to drug his teammates and make them look bad—which was meant to accidentally spark the protagonists' romance—backfired spectacularly. Yu Sui took the hit instead. His Alpha-phobic teammate rubbed his ankle with an ambiguous purr. "Tried to screw me over? So how should I make you pay?"

Terror gripped Yu Sui. Fear consumed him. He shook his head wildly.

Don't come any closer!

World Two: Incompetent Husband

[Unable to give your beautiful wife the happiness he deserves, you've grown psychologically warped, forever fantasizing that he's stepping out on you. To test the theory, you drag your boss home, engineering one chance after another for them to be alone as you try to catch them in the act. In the end, they really do cheat—and since you can't cross the boss, you swallow your rage and play dumb...]

Yu Sui threw himself into the role of the paranoid, spineless husband. Timid and cowering outside the home, he'd raise a fuss indoors, inviting the boss over again and again to give the pair "privacy."

But the wife—supposed to lose patience and hook up with the boss out of spite—ditched his usual restraint. Pinching Yu Sui's waist, eyes red with fury, he snarled, "Shoving me aside over and over, then bringing your boss home to make googly eyes—do you think I'm blind?"

Body and soul worn to the breaking point, Yu Sui refused to give up on salvaging the plot. He cornered the boss to test the waters.

Spotting Yu Sui's suggestive outfit, the boss's voice soured. "Didn't you promise to keep him away?"

Eyes lighting up at the jealousy, Yu Sui figured a job threat was coming next.

"Stringing me along every damn day—when are you dumping him so I can step up?" The boss's gaze burned with envy.

Yu Sui: ???

When the hell had he strung the boss along?! No way—the plot was derailing again!
