Those Years I Spent at Fengrui: As far as I know, President Cen’s mood has been pretty stable recently. A while back, when that Starlight Entertainment artist had an incident, everyone was scared to death, but nothing ended up happening.
Fengrui Little Brat: The company’s been doing fairly well lately, too. It doesn’t seem like there have been any slip-ups. Just yesterday I heard our department head say a huge project was signed, worth hundreds of billions.
I Want to Be Fengrui’s Cleaning Auntie: In summary, since it’s not a company matter, then it’s a family matter. Conclusion drawn.
I Cheer for Fengrui: Oh? A family matter? Don’t tell me it’s what I think it is?
Fengrui is My Home: Pupils shocked. Could we be about to have a Madam?
Fengrui Construction Engineer: Pupils shocked. As everyone knows, that’s impossible.
Fengrui Little Brat: Pupils shocked. Not necessarily.

It was time to test Jiang Nian’s arm strength. In the original work, Duke Devin scooped up Celine, carried him on his back as he climbed the iron ladder, and then carried him in his arms all the way back to his room.
Li Ran smiled at Jiang Nian. “You have to be careful. If you bump into anything, Qinghe won’t talk to you later.”
Lin Qinghe smoothed out the wrinkles on his clothes and, upon hearing this, looked up and replied, “It’s fine. I trust my senior brother.”
Jiang Nian was a few centimeters taller than Lin Qinghe, and his frame was a bit broader, too. He asked for Lin Qinghe’s exact weight and visually assessed that it shouldn’t be a problem. With that in mind, he hesitated for a moment before speaking. “How about we give it a try first?”
“Mm. Are there specific positions for this part?” Lin Qinghe had already moved from solely relying on Li Ran’s instructions to actively thinking for himself. Sometimes he even discussed his own interpretations with Li Ran, gradually putting himself in a more dominant position. For Li Ran, this was a good sign.
Li Ran said, “There’s no specific position for the water scene. As for the cradle carry, I think just casually draping him over Jiang Nian’s arms will do.”
Lin Qinghe nodded and looked at Jiang Nian. “Senior brother.”
Jiang Nian bent down slightly, placed one hand on Lin Qinghe’s upper waist and the other hand under his legs. He exerted strength to straighten up, and Lin Qinghe’s feet left the ground.
Fan Wenbo spoke up. “How is it, Jiang Nian? Is Little He heavy?”
“Looking at this, he’s not heavy. Little He is quite slender,” Li Ran said, leaning against the stool. “Jiang Nian, try taking a few steps.”
Jiang Nian walked around the set for a dozen or so steps as Li Ran instructed. He put the person down and said easily, “No problem. My junior brother is very light.”
“Alright, let’s get to work then!”
Duke Devin reached out and touched Celine’s heart. The heartbeat was normal. The fish tail that had been pressed against him retracted and transformed back into human legs.
After swimming a distance, Duke Devin adjusted his position, letting Celine lie on his broad back. He climbed the ladder one-handed, the burst of strength making him incredibly sexy.
The long ladder seemed to lead nowhere. His slightly curled hair clung to his ears, and sweat mixed with seawater slid down his face. Duke Devin’s jawline was tight, and his strength ebbed away with every rung he climbed.
Behind him, unseen, Celine opened his eyes. They closed again shortly after, as if it had been an illusion.
But the strength of the arms around Duke Devin’s neck tightened a little.
“You’d better not let go. If you fall, I won’t save you a second time.” Those were the words he said, but Duke Devin’s actions clearly showed the exact opposite.
The person behind him no longer gave any reaction. He collected his thoughts and concentrated completely on climbing back up to the cruise ship.
“We’re okay! We’re saved!”
“The storm has passed. It’s completely calm now! Thank God, we survived that disaster.”
“There are so many fish on the deck! They must have been sucked up by the waterspout.”
“Tell the chef, can we have a grilled fish feast tonight?”
The moment Duke Devin appeared before everyone carrying Celine in his arms, it inevitably caused a commotion.
“Duke Devin, are you alright?”
“He’s completely drenched.”
“What happened? It looks like he fell into the sea.”
Someone whispered, “He’s passed out.”
“Duke.” Ian pushed through the crowd and looked at the person in Duke Devin’s arms. “What happened to him?”
Duke Devin replied shortly, “As they said, he fell into the sea.”
“He needs to see a doctor.” Ian’s gaze had been fixed on Celine, and his tone was firm. “He doesn’t look well.”
“No.”
“Doctor Jesse is right here. Falling into the sea could make him feverish, dizzy, even…”
“I said, no.” The refusal was forceful. Duke Devin seemed to have noticed something. He stared at Ian, his gaze somewhat sharp.
The rest of the words stuck in his throat. Ian found Duke Devin’s actions impossible to understand. Seeing a doctor when sick was the most normal thing in the world. Why was Duke Devin not worried at all, and why did he refuse so righteously? He had no right at all to make decisions for the patient. Just as expected, this was a thoroughly, utterly despicable selfish bastard. Perhaps saving that person was only to satisfy his own whims.
“But…”
“But what?” Duke Devin’s tone rose at the end.
The servants who attended him at court knew that by now, his heart was already growing impatient.
Whether it was Duke Devin’s counter-question or his expression, both told Ian one thing: he had no qualification or standing.
Ian’s face was ashen. “Nothing. It’s nothing. Suit yourself.”
“Colonel Ian, know your place.” Duke Devin stepped forward, his gaze fixed ahead as he passed Ian.
The latter clenched his fist, suppressing his indignation and disdain.
…
Celine slept in Duke Devin’s room for three whole days. There were guards outside the door, and no one except Duke Devin could enter.
In the evening of the third day, the person lying flat on the bed finally stirred.
Celine slowly sat up, extended his right hand, looked at it for a long while, and then let it fall again. His spiritual power was pitifully scarce.
“In a few more hours, the cruise ship will reach the mainland.”
Moonlight streamed through the window. Duke Devin bent one knee and leaned against the wall. Celine looked up at him, a flash of light passing through his eyes.
— Dream of the Blue Moon Night, Volume I · End
Hearing that Lin Qinghe was planning to stay at the hotel, Li Ran found a staff member to take him to collect his key card. The production team had previously rented out nearly half a floor at the Floating Fate Hotel. Aside from those who lived nearby and wanted to go home, or those who weren’t formal cast members, everyone had their own room. He was a famous, great director, after all. He didn’t bat an eye while swiping his card.
The hotel environment was excellent, lacking for nothing. Lin Qinghe only needed to bring some everyday clothes and toiletries and such.
He and Xi Nian went up to the second floor. The young man leading the way stopped at room 226 and said, “Teacher Lin, this is your room. If there’s anything you need help with later, you can call me. If nothing else, I’ll head down now.”
“Thank you.” Lin Qinghe took the key card and thanked him.
“No need to be so polite. Goodbye.”
Just as Lin Qinghe was about to swipe his card to enter, he suddenly heard someone call his name.
“Qinghe?”
It was Zhong Yu’s voice. He turned around and saw Zhong Yu opening the door a crack. He was dressed very uniquely, in a large pair of shorts and a white undershirt. Two tufts of his hair were sticking up high, his chin stubble was a little long, and dark circles hung under his eyes.
Zhong Yu also knew his current image was moving. He rubbed his nose and smiled. “Pulled an all-nighter gaming last night. A bit too let loose.”
After saying that, he asked, “Are you staying at the hotel too?”
Lin Qinghe nodded in response. “The hotel is more convenient.”
“That’s great! We’re opposite each other. We can look out for each other from now on.”
Staying at a hotel was a novel experience, and staying with the cast and crew doubled that novelty.
Lin Qinghe smiled. “That is quite a coincidence.”
“What about your luggage? I see you haven’t brought anything,” Zhong Yu said, noticing that both Lin Qinghe and Xi Nian were empty-handed.
“Mm, I haven’t packed my luggage yet. I have to go back.”
“Oh, oh, I see.”
Zhong Yu waved his hand casually. “Then go ahead and take care of that. I’ll send you a list of some essential items later. I’m going to catch up on some more sleep. See you later.”
“See you later.”
Lin Qinghe didn’t have much luggage. Aunt Su found him a suitcase that was neither too big nor too small. Ever since she learned that Lin Qinghe was going to stay at the hotel, her spirits had not been very high. During this time, she had grown used to having another person in the house to talk to.
“How long will you be staying? Until the filming is over?”
Folding his clothes, Lin Qinghe replied uncertainly, “Not necessarily. That might be the case.”
Su Rong sighed, “Aye, it’s tough on you, too. If you ever have a free day, you can come back home to rest. Aunt Su will make you something delicious.”
Lin Qinghe’s voice was gentle. “I will.”
“Alright, that’s about it. I don’t think there’s anything left behind.”
He finished packing in no time. Su Rong took the initiative to mention, “Cen Han will probably be back very late tonight, so you two won’t be able to see each other. You should let him know.”
It was only right to tell him.
The suitcase was loaded into the car. Lin Qinghe bid Aunt Su goodbye, took out his phone, and found the pinned conversation.
Lin Qinghe: Mr. Cen, I’m heading to the hotel now. Goodbye.
Lin Qinghe knew perfectly well how busy Cen Han was, so he was not at all surprised that he didn’t receive an immediate reply.
The message came just as he was about to arrive at the hotel.
Cen Han: Mm.
Cen Han: Didn’t you forget something?
