“I don’t want to kill,” Wu Yingzong replied. “When I’m with Master, I rarely get a chance to act anyway.”
Chaosheng touched his face. Wu Yingzong snapped back to attention and said, “Let’s go. I’m much better now.”
Just as he was about to transform into the Ape Body again, black qi suddenly swirled around them. Wu Yingzong hadn’t stood yet, but Chaosheng sensed it sharply and blocked in front of him.
Demonic Qi surged like ocean tides, turning the top of their rock mountain into an isolated island amid a vast black sea. Wu Yingzong’s eyes widened, while Chaosheng stood firm, sensing an extraordinary presence.
“Wait!” Chaosheng said.
Darkness enveloped everything; light vanished from the world. Amid the surging Demonic Qi sea, a Demon Person appeared.
Wu Yingzong instantly felt the complete suppression of Demonic Aura. All Yao Clan felt an instinctive racial fear when facing demons, for over thousands of years, demons had been a higher order than monsters. When the Heavenly Demon manifested, the Yao Clan had to obey it.
Only Chaosheng stood tall and unmoved, his robes fluttering in the green light.
“Found you,” Mr. Qin said. “Take you back to the Heavenly Demon Palace, and the Heavenly Sovereign will be pleased.”
“You alone?” Chaosheng formed hand seals for spellcasting, utterly unafraid.
Mr. Qin said slowly, “Come with me, Chaosheng.”
Wu Yingzong panted heavily, resisting Mr. Qin’s pressure, and struggled to stand.
Mr. Qin’s body was still damaged from his last encounter with the Wisdom Sword and hadn’t fully healed. Black qi trailed from his lower body as he slowly approached Chaosheng and Wu Yingzong.
Chaosheng focused solely on Mr. Qin, rotating green light in his hands. In an instant, both struck! Mr. Qin charged at Chaosheng, clawing down at his head. Chaosheng unleashed a beam of life light, pushing toward Mr. Qin. All of Chaosheng’s lifelong skills were for protection and healing; he had never practiced killing spells. The green light surged wildly, and at the moment of collision with the Demonic Qi, vines intertwined thickly, climbing up Mr. Qin’s body.
Mr. Qin’s surrounding Demonic Qi exploded, shattering the vines. As his claws closed on Chaosheng’s throat, Wu Yingzong overcame his inner fear with a roar and blocked in front of Chaosheng.
Light burst from Wu Yingzong’s chest, blocking Mr. Qin.
“No, no!” Chaosheng suddenly realized what Wu Yingzong intended. Magical Power erupted next; Wu Yingzong was unleashing his final Burning God Technique, detonating his Inner Elixir in an explosion to perish together with Mr. Qin!
“Chaosheng—!” Another voice rang out.
Hulü Guang appeared abruptly, rushing from the side to save Wu Yingzong.
Mr. Qin’s eyes widened suddenly. White, gentle light burst around Hulü Guang.
With a “clang,” his chest trembled like a great bell tolling across the heavens. A ring of white light expanded, instantly sweeping away the black fog of the Demonic Qi sea. Mr. Qin, caught off guard, retracted his Demonic Qi to clash with the white light. Behind Hulü Guang, a divine form appeared!
The figure of Dipamkara emerged behind Hulü Guang. Its divine eyes remained closed, golden robes fluttering, as sacred chants echoed and rolling golden light surged, dispersing the black qi completely.
Hulü Guang: “???”
Hulü Guang stared in disbelief, floating in midair and looking back at the Dipamkara Dharma Image behind him.
“What is this thing?!” Hulü Guang muttered to himself.
As the Demonic Qi dispersed, Chaosheng shouted, “Opportunity! Gather your power!”
The sudden change snapped Wu Yingzong back. He shouted, “Drive him back!”
“I… I don’t know how!” Hulü Guang yelled.
Wu Yingzong hovered in midair, turning his shoulder to give Hulü Guang leverage. Hulü Guang stepped on his back, spun around, and faced the Demon Person directly. They locked eyes. Mr. Qin’s black qi had dissipated, revealing his human form, shock in his eyes.
Hulü Guang: “Punch him? But my blade’s gone!”
No answer came, but Chaosheng pressed his back, and Spiritual Qi surged madly, stimulating his Meridians.
Though Chaosheng practiced Immortal Technique and couldn’t kill enemies, his control over Magical Power was unmatched by ordinary people. After pressing Hulü Guang, he gathered the Spiritual Power for him, retracting the sky full of white light.
“Point at him!” Wu Yingzong shouted.
With their assistance, Hulü Guang leaned sideways, extended his right hand, and pointed his finger remotely at Mr. Qin.
Mr. Qin immediately gathered Demonic Qi to counter. A beam of light shot out, piercing the Demonic Qi and striking Mr. Qin’s chest. White light erupted, leveling the mountaintop and sweeping away every trace of Demonic Qi. Mr. Qin roared amid the gale as his black fire was utterly destroyed, turning into a wisp of green smoke. Not even his soul remained; he vanished completely.
The world returned to normal. Wu Yingzong and Hulü Guang landed one after the other. Hulü Guang flipped agilely and bowed upon landing, while Wu Yingzong crashed to the ground with a “bang.”
Chaosheng looked at the two, then up at the sky.
“He’s dead?” Wu Yingzong said.
“Seems… like it?” Chaosheng nodded uncertainly. After assessing, he ran to Wu Yingzong.
“Are you okay?” Chaosheng asked.
Wu Yingzong signaled he was fine, but Chaosheng was furious. “Why did you do that just now?”
Wu Yingzong didn’t know how to respond.
Chaosheng said, “If Hulü Guang hadn’t come, you’d have blown yourself up! Do you think detonating your Inner Elixir could defeat him? Without the Wisdom Sword and Heart Lamp, you couldn’t… Huh? Why is the Heart Lamp with you?”
Wu Yingzong didn’t answer. Chaosheng furrowed his brows deeply, snapped back, looked at Hulü Guang, pondered, and both realized the power from moments ago.
“Was that the Heart Lamp?” Wu Yingzong asked. “Why is it with you?”
Chaosheng said, “Yes! The Dipamkara Dharma Image appeared! I saw Divine Descent!”
“Wh-what?” Hulü Guang replied. “I don’t know!”
“What about Lord Xiao and Master?” Wu Yingzong asked.
Hulü Guang looked at Chaosheng, then Wu Yingzong. The three stared at each other atop the rock mountain for a moment. Hulü Guang remembered why he was there and paled. “Bad news! We have to go now!”
