Chapter 215: Master Comes to Give Property

When Lian Li woke up the next morning, he felt a bit skeptical about whether Yun Huizhou’s brief return had been a dream.

It wasn’t until he saw the clothes Yun Huizhou had changed out of over there that he was certain it hadn’t been a dream; the man really had returned yesterday.

However, that was merely a small interlude. Following that, Yun Huizhou truly did not return again, and even the South Island Lord, who used to occasionally come back to guide him in his martial arts practice, no longer appeared.

Half a month later, the South Island Lord suddenly arrived at Lian Li’s residence.

Seeing him appear, Lian Li called out “Master” and immediately looked behind him.

Seeing his movement, the South Island Lord subconsciously glanced back as well. Finding nothing behind him, he was somewhat puzzled, but since Lian Li’s gaze wasn’t fixed on him, he couldn’t directly let Lian Li know what he was trying to express.

Thus, he could only ask, “What are you looking at?”

Lian Li withdrew his gaze and shook his head, saying, “Nothing. Master, why are you back? What about Grandmaster’s side…?”

Lian Li was curious about what he was taking out when he saw the man hand the stack of papers to him.

“What is this?” he asked while taking the stack.

However, before the South Island Lord could answer, Lian Li’s eyes suddenly widened, and he cried out in shock, “Land deeds? House deeds?”

The stack of papers in his hand wasn’t particularly thick—about a dozen sheets—but the thought that these papers were all house and land deeds made his scalp tingle.

He recognized the locations of several house deeds; they were for quite prosperous shops in Jianggao City.

Besides Jianggao City, there were also shops in other relatively bustling cities.

Lian Li instantly understood the meaning of becoming rich overnight.

He looked up at the South Island Lord and said, “Master, are these all for me?”

The South Island Lord nodded and said, “Yes. This is the reward for you reaching the Second-Class level. They were originally meant to be given to you as soon as you returned, but I came back suddenly and was busy guiding Yun Huizhou’s martial arts, so it was delayed.”

Lian Li looked through them one by one. After getting a general idea of how much property was now under his name, he said to the South Island Lord, “But, I don’t have time to manage them, and I don’t have anyone I trust who can help me manage them.”

The South Island Lord naturally knew Lian Li’s situation, so he replied, “They are registered under your name anyway. Just keep them safe; there are people already operating and managing them.”

Oh, so that meant he didn’t have to worry about anything and just had to wait to collect money every month. This was exactly the life he dreamed of.

In that instant, he felt like he was going to be lured into corruption by money and just rot away from then on.

Fortunately, it was only for an instant before he cleared his head.

If he slacked off now, he would immediately face a mixed triple-beating from the three Island Lords, and his rewards would be confiscated.

Taking a deep breath, he neatly arranged the land and house deeds, found an exquisite silver box, and placed his family assets inside one by one.

Just as he finished putting them away, the South Island Lord spoke again: “Pack up everything you need to bring over the next few days. We will set out as soon as Yun Huizhou returns.”

By the time he reached the last word of that sentence, the man had already drifted far away. When Lian Li turned around, he had completely vanished from sight.

Having received his reward and learned that everything was going smoothly for Yun Huizhou—who would be back soon—Lian Li happily spun around the room several times. Only after his excitement slowly subsided did he seriously begin packing the things he needed to take with him.

When Yun Huizhou entered the room, he saw Lian Li had brought two boxes from somewhere and was stuffing things into them.

He lightened his footsteps and walked up behind Lian Li.

Seeing that Lian Li was still focused on putting things into the boxes, Yun Huizhou paused and then leaned close to Lian Li’s ear.

He was too close; Lian Li wasn’t dead, and even if he was off-guard, he could still sense it.

He grabbed a piece of clothing and swiped it by his own ear, which happened to smack right onto Yun Huizhou’s face.

At the same time, he turned around to see Yun Huizhou grabbing his own wrist, trying to pull the garment off his face.

“Trying to scare me? Not only is there no door, there’s not even a window [and you still couldn’t scare me],” Lian Li said smugly.

Yun Huizhou took the garment off and looked at Lian Li with a grin, saying, “You didn’t react at all, so I thought you didn’t know I was back.”

Lian Li snatched the garment from his hand and put it back into the box, saying, “It’s good that you’re back. Hurry up and see if there’s anything else to bring, then pack it all up.”

Yun Huizhou followed his movements and looked at the box, finding that it was divided into several sections containing different types of items.

He blanked for a moment and then asked Lian Li, “Are you packing the things for us to take when we go out?”

Lian Li nodded. “Yeah. Take a look, is anything missing?”

Seeing his serious expression, Yun Huizhou scratched his cheek and said tactfully, “Nothing is missing, but I feel like it might not be great to bring all of this.”

“I knew you’d say that.” Lian Li closed the box and then flipped it over to show him the bottom. “Look, I specially customized this luggage case. There are small swivel wheels on the bottom.”

Then, he flipped the box back over and pointed to a spot. “Here, there’s a handle that can be pulled out from inside. We can hold the handle and then drag the case like this. It’s very convenient.”

Yun Huizhou took the case from his hand and dragged it around the room for two laps. Then, he looked into Lian Li’s eyes very sincerely and said, “It is quite convenient. If we go out for leisure in the future, this will be perfect.”

As soon as Lian Li heard that, he knew the other man was too embarrassed to say the other half of his thoughts.

It was likely that if they went out this time, bringing this wouldn’t be very convenient; they needed to travel light and keep things simple.

Lian Li curled his lip and was about to speak when Yun Huizhou leaned in and gently stroked his face with a finger, saying, “This trip out won’t be like the previous ones. We might encounter dangerous situations or circumstances where we have to travel for long periods.”

“Aside from the medicine bottles, banknotes, and horses we carry on us, other things might be discarded at any time. Even if we don’t actively discard them, they might get lost.”

Lian Li raised his eyes and stared at Yun Huizhou for a while. Yun Huizhou thought he was unhappy and was about to say something more when he saw Lian Li push the luggage case under the bed.

Lian Li said, “What you said makes a lot of sense. This time we’re going out for a trial, not for a vacation. Bringing medicine, money, and some waterproof bags is enough. Other things can be bought at any time.”
