My Villainous Shizun Has It So Hard [Transmigration]

Chu Wuyue transmigrated into The Devil Venerable, a power fantasy he had written in his youth.

He found himself in the body of the story’s formidable leader of the righteous path: Venerable Xuanji, a revered figure of the Fengyun Sect.

Venerable Xuanji was handsome, aloof, and powerful enough to summon wind and rain. When he spoke, no one dared gainsay him. In short, he was the sort of man who had it all.

That should have been a good thing. The problem was that he was also the male lead’s bitter, vindictive shizun—and, so far, the biggest villain in the story.

The higher the villain soared, the harder he fell. The male lead, who never forgot a slight, eventually nailed Venerable Xuanji to a pillar in the sect with Soul-Devouring Nails. He crippled him, destroyed his voice, and left him to endure half a year of having his soul gnawed at every day before he finally died.

It was a gruesome end.

[Your mission is to take Venerable Xuanji’s place and see the Main Storyline through to the end.]

Chu Wuyue: …I’m screwed.

With the script of a great villain in hand, Chu Wuyue spent every day on edge. He did his utmost to play the shizun and carefully followed the Main Storyline.

Under the System’s watchful eye, he taught the male lead what he was supposed to teach him, scolded him when he was supposed to scold him, and even put on a stirring display of righteousness by turning against his own disciple when the moment called for it.

In a word, he was ruthless.

But when nearly half the story had played out and Chu Wuyue was preparing to bow out, something went wrong.

The disciple who was supposed to hate him to the bone now looked at him with nothing but tender devotion, bashful affection, and an admirable commitment to the core socialist values.

…

Wait. Wasn’t he supposed to be the villain?

The Villain System, which had watched the whole thing unfold, only sneered.

“Who knows?”
