After Luo Fei figured things out, he felt a sense of clarity.
That very evening, he sent a text message to Mo Han: “Mo Han, can I treat you to lunch tomorrow?”
The message received no reply for a long time. Luo Fei waited anxiously.
It wasn’t until half an hour later that he got a response: “I was in the shower just now. For lunch tomorrow, Iman invited me over to his place. I already agreed.”
Luo Fei: “!!!!”
That little rascal Iman moved so fast!
For an Omega to so proactively invite a peer Alpha to his own home… Iman, you really are too much!
A splitting headache struck Luo Fei. He immediately called out to Chongming. “I recall Iman is also a student at Herman University. Do a thorough check and see if any Alphas are pursuing him at school.”
Chongming continued its gloating. “Master, you want some other Alpha to pursue Iman so you can rescue Mo Han from his clutches?”
Luo Fei: “Smart. That Iman is too enthusiastic. I’m afraid Mo Han can’t handle him. This is my only way to a roundabout rescue!”
Chongming promptly started looking up information.
Strictly speaking, since Uncle Brian married earlier than his Royal Father, Iman was also born two years before Luo Fei. He was the same age as Mo Han and had coincidentally also been admitted to Herman University’s Mecha Manufacturing Department.
From the data Chongming pulled up, due to Iman’s overly flamboyant style, he had many friends at Herman University—Alphas, Betas, Omegas—but no Alpha had ever pursued him. They all treated him as a good buddy. He was also a top student at school, usually sleeping in class and goofing off, yet he always scored top marks on exams. His father was a renowned genius mecha designer in the empire. Iman not only inherited his father’s thick skin but also his talent in mecha manufacturing. University courses were simply too easy for him.
This aspect made him remarkably similar to Mo Han. Both were top students, genuine schoolmates, and both were deeply interested in intelligent systems and mecha manufacturing. Once Iman became familiar with Mo Han, the common topics between them would be countless.
Luo Fei’s headache intensified. “Is there really no one interested in him? Iman is quite cute. Are the Alphas at his school blind?”
Chongming replied, “Probably because Iman is overly enthusiastic, flirting with those Alphas every day. Many Alphas got scared off by him.”
Luo Fei: “…”
It seemed his ’roundabout rescue’ plan—finding another Alpha to pursue Iman—was completely unviable.
Whatever happened, he couldn’t let Iman and Mo Han get too close. He had to quickly stop this solo ‘date’ of theirs.
Thinking this, Luo Fei immediately declared, “Tomorrow, we’re also going to Uncle Brian’s house.”
Chongming said, “But Mr. Brian didn’t invite you! If you just barge in like that, won’t the Queen beat you up?”
Luo Fei said, “I’ll just say Chongming’s system is malfunctioning and ask Uncle Brian to check it.”
Chongming immediately protested, “My system isn’t broken!”
Luo Fei said, “To help your master find an excuse, can’t you pretend to be broken for once?”
Chongming: “Oh…”
It paused, then seemed to recall something and perked up. “By the way! I can exactly ask Mr. Brian to add two extra layers to my defense net! That way, if you end up together with that hacker Mo Han, he won’t be able to invade my system. Let’s definitely go visit Mr. Brian tomorrow!”
Luo Fei nodded. “That’s decided then.”
The next noon, Iman personally went to the hotel to pick up Mo Han.
An Omega going to pick up an Alpha—probably only someone like him could pull that off. But Mo Han, seeing Iman’s eyes curved into happy crescents, felt this guy was indeed rather endearingly straightforward.
The two quickly took a hovercar to the villa Mr. Brian owned on Capital Star.
Brian’s property was vast, with three standalone villas alone, plus a five-story tall building in the courtyard center, almost rivaling a school’s teaching block in size.
Iman introduced, “The villa on the left is where my father and dad live their daily lives. The one on the right is where I, my younger brother, and sister stay. There’s also a guest villa reserved for grandpa, grandfather, and others. The five-story building in the middle is my father’s mecha workshop. It holds many mecha parts and manufacturing blueprints. When he doesn’t feel like going to the Mecha Association, he just researches here at home.”
Mo Han wasn’t particularly interested in the villas, but his attention focused on the mecha workshop.
Iman grinned, grabbing his hand. “Come on, I’ll show you around!”
Just as they approached the villa entrance, they saw a young boy standing there, his expression icy. His sharp gaze swept over Iman’s fingers holding Mo Han’s arm.
Iman introduced with a smile, “This is my younger brother, Ethan. He’s still in secondary school.”
Ethan frowned, his eyes still fixed on his brother’s hand latched onto Mo Han’s arm. “Brother, who is this?”
Iman said, “This is Mo Han, my schoolmate. I invited him over as a guest.”
Ethan stated coldly, “You just casually bring Alphas home like this?”
Iman said, “Mo Han is my friend, what’s there to mind? Mo Han, ignore him. Let’s go inside and look around.”
Mo Han found it rather amusing. This Alpha was probably the rumored one who’d inherited his dad’s aloof personality. The two brothers had completely opposite temperaments. The Omega had skin as thick as the palace city walls, while the Alpha was cold and proud. It was obvious this younger brother was very protective of his older sibling, afraid his scatterbrained brother might get tricked by some bad Alpha. His tightly drawn little face was quite interesting to behold.
Mo Han followed Iman into the mecha workshop. The ground floor housed vast quantities of mecha parts. Seeing so many for the first time, Mo Han felt a thrill of excitement.
Iman introduced as they walked, “These are only low-level components. The precious metal parts needed to manufacture S-Class mechas are all on the fourth floor. But those are too valuable—father keeps them locked up, afraid we might break them if we mess around.” He turned back to ask his brother, “Is Father home?”
Ethan raised an eyebrow with displeasure. “He’s on the fourth floor.”
Iman said, “Let me take you to meet my father.”
Just as he spoke, a man descended in the elevator. His golden hair was so bright it nearly blinded, and his deep, sapphire-blue eyes were like the sea. His features were remarkably handsome, and he wore a constant smile—a smile that, upon closer inspection, bore considerable resemblance to Iman’s own.
Guessing this was Iman’s father, Mr. Brian, the president of the Imperial Mecha Association, Mo Han immediately bowed politely. “Mr. Brian, hello.”
Brian looked him over with a smile. “You’re the ‘Mo Han’ our little Angel was talking about?”
Iman protested, “Father, don’t call me that!”
Angel was another meaning of the name; when Iman was born, his dad had doted on this Omega son immensely and named him Angel, signifying he was the little angel who came to his dad. The name Iman was only added later for school records, but the family still preferred calling him Angel. However, Iman felt that being called “little angel” every day was way too sappy. He didn’t much like his father calling him that.
Brian, doting on his son immensely, immediately corrected himself at the boy’s protest. “Alright, alright, little Iman. You brought a friend to tour the mecha workshop?”
Iman said, “That’s right. Mo Han also understands intelligent programming and even participated in developing the new generation of intelligent spaceships. He’s very interested in the intelligent mechas you’ve built, so I brought him to have a look.”
Just then, the machine butler suddenly announced, “Sir, His Highness the First Prince requests an audience outside.”
Brian raised a surprised eyebrow. “Luo Fei? What brings him here? Let them in.”
Moments later, Luo Fei hurried in. “Uncle Brian.”
Brian smiled. “Luo Fei, what brings you to me so suddenly?”
Luo Fei said, “Chongming’s system has malfunctioned. I wanted to ask you, Uncle, to check what’s going on.”
Hearing this, Mo Han interjected with a half-smile, “Did Chongming’s system really break?”
Startled, Luo Fei turned to face him, steeling himself. “Yes, it broke last night…”
Mo Han stated flatly, “It wasn’t me.”
Luo Fei forced a dry laugh. ‘Of course, I know it wasn’t you. It was Chongming itself that scrambled its own system. Just to create an excuse to stop you and Iman from growing closer.’
For its master, it was really going all out this time. It deserved a Most Loyal Mecha award.
Brian’s gaze shifted between Luo Fei, Mo Han, and his own son Iman. A knowing smile curved his lips. “My house is certainly lively today!”
So, what exactly were you youngsters plotting?
