Chapter 67: Physical Examination
“The Alexandria galaxy is adjacent to the Empire. Their defense line has been invaded by the Zerg, and it may affect the Empire’s F galaxy cluster. Marshal, if necessary, can the research institute provide biological weapon assistance against the Zerg?”
The incessant reporting voice.
“On the premise that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has negotiated the conditions with the king of the Alexandria galaxy, it can be approved.”
A cold male voice passed through the dream, as if through a membrane, blurry, but also seemed to be at hand.
“Captain Ross, the last stronghold of the skull in the Empire, has requested to lead troops to destroy it.”
“Approved for execution. The safety of the hostages has the highest priority.”
“Yes.”
“Marshal, the《Alien Convention》that we drafted has been rejected by the Interstellar Alliance again. The reason is that it lacks the royal family’s seal.”
A long silence.
The person in charge of the meeting indifferently lowered his silver eyes, his expression uncertain. The atmosphere of the meeting instantly became dead silent, and no one dared to make a sound.
The Marshal was clearly on the top floor, but the secretary-general, who had been forced to arrange today’s schedule as an online meeting, was tense. The adjutant also did not dare to breathe.
To put it bluntly, the Interstellar Alliance just didn’t want to deal with it. They had come up with countless reasons to prevaricate and refuse over the years, but the military had no way. Every time the Marshal heard this news, he would be in a low mood for a few days and would frantically train with his officers.
The adjutant foresaw his future for the next few days, and his heart was dead. The next second, a low voice with a hint of warmth sounded by his ear, “Are you awake?”
The colonels and officers, who were waiting for the Marshal to issue an order with trepidation, looked at each other, in disbelief, their expressions strange, but they suppressed it, not daring to show anything unusual.
In the video, the Marshal moved his earpiece away. They could only hear another blurry human voice. Although they couldn’t hear what was being said, the tone was exceptionally attractive.
Immediately followed by the Marshal’s soft reply.
“I’m sorry, I was too loud. Do you want to sleep a little longer?”
The adjutant looked at his colleagues’ incredulous expressions. The Marshal had just apologized, what was there to be so surprised about? The corner of his eyebrow twitched. He had seen even more incredible things.
For a rare moment, the secretary-general and the adjutant exchanged a tacit understanding.
Deng Xi had indeed been woken up. There had been a human voice chattering by his ear. The little merman could not sleep soundly. He was tossing and turning on the thigh that he had warmed up.
One moment he would turn over, the next he would rub his face. The blue fish tail that had been hanging down to the ground had been placed in the operating flying chair, and the seawater that had turned into a water mist was constantly being sprayed out.
“Don’t talk anymore.”
“Don’t disturb my sleep…”
The half-asleep Deng Xi mumbled in his dream, but because his voice was too small, it was covered by the voice in the earpiece. Finally, Deng Xi couldn’t bear it anymore and opened his eyes. He looked at the source of the sound with some anger. “Little Mute!”
Si Jisheng was slightly stunned. He lowered his silver eyes to look, and after a moment, he apologized in a low voice.
Deng Xi was very easy to coax, and his morning grumpiness also went away very quickly. He had been too tired last night and had slept very late. He had only been so angry because he had been woken up. His voice, from just waking up, was sticky and unclear. “What are you doing?”
He propped himself up and looked around in a daze. “How did I get here?” He let out a small yawn.
“Wait a moment.” This was said to Deng Xi. Si Jisheng looked at his comm. “The strategic materials that the Empire provided to the Interstellar Alliance this year.” He was silent for a moment, then asked with an unclear meaning, “Have they been transported?”
The secretary-general immediately said, “The warship is still in flight.”
Si Jisheng raised his eyes. His tone was exceptionally light, but if one listened carefully, one could hear a deep chill. “Withdraw it. Just tell the Alliance that it was robbed by star pirates on the way.”
The adjutant’s eyebrow twitched again. The supplies of a military superpower could be robbed by star pirates? Marshal, do you see who would believe that? After complaining, he couldn’t help but curl the corners of his lips. He had finally vented his anger.
Si Jisheng looked at the secretary-general. “Have the royal family member in charge of signing this convention come and see me in the military headquarters later.”
The secretary-general immediately agreed and tactfully gave him a way out. “Then the meeting?”
“Temporarily suspended.”
The communication was cut off the next second. Si Jisheng took off his earpiece and placed it on the table. Only then did he lower his eyes to look at Deng Xi and remind him, “Tail.”
To prop up his body, a part of Deng Xi’s tail was resting on the chair. He belatedly felt a little sore. With a thought, he turned into human legs.
Because the seawater had not yet dried, his wet legs were kneeling on the chair, and the soaked Jiaoren silk dress outlined his figure.
Deng Xi straightened up. His consciousness was still a little drowsy. He vaguely remembered that this was the little mute’s workplace. He frowned his little face in confusion, not knowing how he had been carried here after sleeping.
He turned the tables and complained, “Why didn’t Little Mute let me sleep at home, and even woke me up?”
Si Jisheng’s silver eyes narrowed slightly. He operated his fingertips a few times, and the comm quickly played a chaotic video. Because the person controlling the camera was constantly moving, the perspective kept changing.
It wasn’t until a deep voice sounded in the video, “If you move around again, I won’t take you with me.”
Only then did the little merman, who had been constantly hugging the person’s arm, settle down. He mumbled something and drowsily leaned over.
He had finally stopped.
Deng Xi stared at himself in the video. He was even more clingy than the little kitten he had seen. He was hugging the little mute’s shoulder and neck the whole time. The moment he was pulled away, he would flick his tail and snuggle up again before he would settle down.
The half-naked little mute’s military uniform was pulled off by him in a few strokes. The half-asleep him didn’t know any shame at all and insisted on pressing against the silver-tail’s cold body.
Deng Xi’s residual sleepiness instantly dissipated, and he was completely awake. With the video as evidence, he had no room for argument. In the end, he could only lower his head, his face flushed with a pink blush, and turn into a little ostrich.
He quietly extended a leg, and his toes touched the cold ground. He slowly stood up straight, then extended his other leg. Since he couldn’t explain, he was preparing to run.
Si Jisheng grabbed him. The mechanical finger sleeve squeezed the soft flesh on his forearm, and he held him loosely. “Put on your shoes before you run.”
His words were faintly tinged with a smile.
Very light, very muffled.
But it was there!
He had heard it!
Deng Xi raised his eyes angrily, irrationally. “That was the sleeping me who did that.” He turned his face away. “I don’t know why it was like that. Anyway, Little Mute is not allowed to laugh at me.”
Si Jisheng’s brow furrowed. He realized something. “Why are you suddenly so…” He paused, choosing a word that would allow Deng Xi to save a little face. “Greedy for the cold?”
“Is it very hot?”
Or was it just that he wanted to hug him and wouldn’t let go?
Deng Xi shook his head, feeling that the little mute was still laughing at him in his heart. “I don’t know. Little Mute is not allowed to ask anymore, and you’re not allowed to look at this anymore.” The video was turned off by the little merman’s hand.
Si Jisheng always felt that something was not right.
Logically, no matter how deeply he slept, he shouldn’t have become so clingy and insisted on holding onto him.
It was as if the Jiaoren’s cold body temperature and cold aura could soothe something.
“Shall we go for a physical examination in the afternoon?” Si Jisheng quickly opened the communication interface with Dr. Li. After Deng Xi agreed, he immediately had Dr. Li arrange it.
Deng Xi asked cluelessly, “What’s a physical examination?”
Si Jisheng asked patiently, “If a human feels that there is something uncomfortable on their body, they will choose to have a comprehensive examination of their body to prevent any hidden diseases from appearing in their body. If it is discovered early, it can be treated in the early stages when the disease is not serious.”
“To prevent the condition from worsening to an irreversible point when we are not aware of it.”
Deng Xi blinked his eyes in a daze. “But I’m not sick.”
Si Jisheng wanted to say more.
But Deng Xi was really unhappy. He asked in confusion, “Is wanting to hug you also considered being sick?”
Si Jisheng paused for a moment, and his breath hitched. After a moment, he replied, “No.”
Deng Xi lowered his eyelids. “I don’t want to have a physical examination.”
Si Jisheng had no choice. He thought for a moment. “Then how about you accompany me?”
Deng Xi asked nervously, “Is Little Mute sick? Where on your body is uncomfortable?”
Si Jisheng shook his head slightly. “I’m just going for a check-up, just in case.”
The purpose was to give Deng Xi a heads-up.
Si Jisheng took out a bath towel from his lounge and had Deng Xi dry his own legs, then took out a spare set of clothes for him to change into.
Soon, Dr. Li, who had received the news, rushed over.
“There is an idle high-level treatment pod that can be used. Marshal, when are you going?”
Si Jisheng: “Now.”
Deng Xi was led to the top floor of the treatment center. After passing through countless corridors, the treatment pod that had been moved over was quietly placed in a cold room.
The familiar white shell, the transparent glass layer.
Deng Xi’s eyes widened. He suddenly turned and hugged the little mute, his body trembling. “Don’t do it.” His voice was very panicked. “Let’s not have a physical examination, okay?”
Si Jisheng was slightly stunned. “What’s wrong?”
Deng Xi hugged him tightly, trying to stop Si Jisheng’s steps, not letting the little mute get half a step closer to that treatment pod. “It will cut my tail.”
Only then did Si Jisheng understand what Deng Xi was afraid of. He comfortingly stroked Deng Xi’s golden hair. “It’s different from the one in the treatment room. Trust me, okay?”
Deng Xi tentatively raised his face and looked at the treatment pod behind him, which in his eyes was no different from a murder weapon. He then looked at Dr. Li.
Dr. Li also nodded and gave him an affirmative look.
Deng Xi slowly let go of the little mute. He pursed his lips and, without any hesitation, “Then I’ll go first.”
“I’ll go first.”
Even if there was a risk of his tail being cut, Deng Xi had to lie in first to verify whether the little mute was deceiving him.
He was afraid for the little mute to go in, but he was not afraid at all to lie in the treatment pod himself, because Deng Xi knew that the little mute might hurt himself for many things, but the little mute would definitely, definitely not hurt him.
The breathing in his chest seemed to have become difficult in an instant. After a long while, Si Jisheng finally calmed down and said in a low voice, “I promise, it’s very safe and won’t hurt you.”
Deng Xi’s eyelids curved. “Alright.”
A normal treatment pod would not be filled with any liquid when it was not needed for treatment. A physical examination was just lying in it and having a comprehensive scan, without even a blood test.
The entire process took no more than ten seconds.
Deng Xi, who had just come out, looked at the treatment pod in a daze. “Is that it?”
Dr. Li accessed the scanned results on her comm and smiled. “Of course.”
Deng Xi, who had made a small fool of himself, shyly shrank behind the little mute.
Dr. Li quickly said, “Deng Xi’s body is in perfect health. He is very healthy.” Then she paused. “Except for one thing, his sex hormones are a little abnormally high.” She used a very subtle word. “Very active.”
“But this situation is not unheard of. The bodies of aliens are different from humans, and they cannot be viewed with a normal perspective. If it doesn’t affect his life, then there’s no problem.”
“Don’t worry.”
