Chapter 80: Petroleum-Scented Pheromones
Tara raised an eyebrow, amused by Qiuyue’s words:
“Hehehe… my dear, you’re so humorous.”
“What did you… call me?”
Qiuyue’s face turned pale with anger. This damn Alpha, a special agent of the interstellar police, was speaking so frivolously. He had no professional ethics at all. Qiuyue now seriously suspected that the recruitment department of these interstellar special police was just a bunch of nepotistic amateurs.
Tara’s mocking and contemptuous laughter stopped. His face suddenly turned cold. He raised his hand and, under Qiuyue’s astonished gaze, his fingertips gently touched his iris, taking out the two lenses that were attached to his pupils and crushing them to dust.
Qiuyue swallowed. As an Omega, he could, of course, feel the pungent smell of petroleum-like Alpha pheromones pouring in like a mountain flood. The Omega he was threatening with a knife was trembling uncontrollably.
“The same words to you, my dear,” Tara stared at him and said, “Don’t test my patience. Otherwise, I will let you know what I’m going to do to you.”
Tara had made it very clear.
Qiuyue gritted his teeth and gripped the fruit knife tightly. The blade was pressed against the skin of the hostage’s neck artery, but Qiuyue did not act.
Because Qiuyue knew in his heart that the priority now was not the life or death of this unknown Omega hostage, but how he was going to escape from here.
Seeing Tara approaching step by step, the smell of Alpha pheromones getting closer and closer, Qiuyue knew that he had to act, or it would be too late.
He raised the knife and brought it down. He did not choose to cut the hostage’s artery, but instead, the tip of the knife pierced into the gland on the back of the hostage Omega’s neck. Blood stained the tip of the knife.
Even a lunatic like Tara stopped his approaching steps and looked at Qiuyue in shock.
“You forced me,” Qiuyue said through gritted teeth.
The hostage let out a tragic scream. That was one of the most vulnerable parts of an Omega’s entire body, filled with tiny blood vessels. Even during heat, an Alpha had to be careful when marking, otherwise, not only would it be extremely painful, but it would also be easy for bacteria to infect and cause inflammation.
As an Omega, of course, Qiuyue could not have been unaware of this.
“Does it hurt your heart?” Qiuyue looked at Tara standing there and sneered.
The next moment, the tip of the knife turned like a drill.
The water on the floor had been dyed a pale red.
The Omega who had been innocently dragged into this could not make any sound. The pain had made him faint. His back was a terrifying mess of blood, and the bloodstains were spreading more and more.
Tara looked down, as if he couldn’t bear to look.
Although he looked unprofessional most of the time, he had been in the business for many years and was familiar with all the regulations of T27. He also knew that the hostage just now had paid a painful price for his arrogant mistake.
Damn it, he would have a lot to write in the summary report after the mission was over.
Now!
In the moment that Tara was stunned, the unconscious hostage was pushed onto Tara by Qiuyue like a piece of luggage.
As long as he could leave, Qiuyue would use any means necessary! He didn’t care if others accused him of being ruthless. After all, only he could be responsible for his own life. Those who accused him would never back him up!
Qiuyue gritted his teeth and ran out of the bathroom. During this time, he also bumped into a vase on a table. The plain white vase fell to the ground and shattered into pieces. Qiuyue stepped over the ceramic shards, not in the mood to care if the shards would pierce the soles of his shoes.
He didn’t even have time to breathe, just to escape the monopolistic attack of the petroleum-scented Alpha pheromones.
But his wish, as always, was in vain.
Qiuyue suddenly stopped. At this moment, he was standing in the living room, staring at the exit.
The penguin-like, half-bald, mustached, short, and fat Alpha man was standing at the door, holding a room card in his hand.
Qiuyue glared at him, knowing that things were not good. He rushed over at full speed.
Who knew that the penguin man was a step faster than him. The penguin man quickly closed the door. At the same time, Qiuyue heard the electronic lock’s prompt: “Password setting in progress…”
“Damn it!”
Qiuyue cursed. He twisted the doorknob, trying to open the door, but the door was as if it were locked and couldn’t be opened. He took out the work pass he had swiped from the hotel’s cleaning staff and placed it on the sensor machine under the handle, but it still didn’t work. The electronic lock just said, “The lock of this room is currently in use. Please try again later.”
“Fuck, damn it!”
Despair, like a plague, spread from Qiuyue’s brain to his whole body. He trembled like a lamb waiting to be slaughtered. He heard a movement behind him, looked back, and Tara had already come out of the bathroom.
“Clack—clack—clack—”
The heels of Tara’s leather shoes rhythmically hit the ground.
“What… what do you want?” Qiuyue felt his throat tighten. He licked his dry lips and said again, “If you want to put me in prison, I don’t care, but I won’t tell you anything, you disgusting policeman.”
“Oh, whatever,” Tara smiled. “But you’ve misunderstood one thing. I have no intention of putting you in prison.”
Qiuyue took a step back and leaned against the door. He still looked at Tara, his eyes filled with vigilance and distrust. The next moment, Tara said something that shocked Qiuyue to the core.
“Peterlov, that’s the name, right?” Tara said. “Is he your boss? Or your lover?”
In just a short sentence, Qiuyue was instantly stunned.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Qiuyue swallowed again and said with difficulty.
The next second, a violent impact came from the door frame. A long watermelon knife, like a launched bullet, was embedded in the center of the door.
Along with it came the overwhelming, suffocatingly rich smell of Alpha pheromones. Qiuyue felt it was difficult to breathe. This had nothing to do with him being an Omega. It was mainly because the petroleum-scented Alpha pheromones made him feel like he was in a chemical plant with a heavy metal leak. The smell was so pungent that he was a little hypoxic.
And Tara had long since put away his hypocritical smile. He lowered his head, looked down at Qiuyue, who was half a head shorter than him, and ordered in a cold tone, “Turn around.”
Qiuyue stood there, staring at Tara, without any intention of obeying him.
“What if I don’t turn around?” Qiuyue said.
Tara’s eyelids twitched. The next moment, the small knife that was tightly held by Qiuyue rushed towards his eyes.
Fortunately, the tip of the knife stopped ten centimeters from Tara’s eyelid—Tara’s hand was tightly gripping the blade of the fruit knife.
A winding stream of blood, like a stream from a melting iceberg, flowed down to Tara’s forearm, but Tara did not dare to relax in the slightest.
Because Qiuyue was so damn strong. He was not the kind of Omega who thought about selling his body every day and wanted to climb up the social ladder at alcohol-fueled parties. He was really damn strong, Tara thought. And his hand really damn hurt.
Qiuyue was more aggressive than Tara had imagined. Tara felt that the veins and blood vessels in his arm were about to burst from the pain. He looked at the long knife that was deeply embedded in the door, thought for three seconds, and gave up the plan of using this knife to fight back. The first reason was that he needed Qiuyue alive to complete the mission.
The second reason was that he naturally also wanted Qiuyue to live in one piece.
Qiuyue also noticed the long knife. This thing was much more ferocious than the small fruit knife used for cutting limes. Qiuyue thought, if he could get his hands on this thing, the scales of victory would naturally tip in his favor.
However, Qiuyue’s chances of winning were still in vain.
Just as Qiuyue reached out his other hand to grab the long knife, Tara keenly sensed Qiuyue’s loophole—the hand that was holding the short knife to stab his eyes had weakened.
Now!
Tara quickly pulled the long knife from the door, placed it on Qiuyue’s neck, and at the same time, his other hand grabbed the blade of the short knife. He didn’t care about the pain, and even let the blade sink deep into the muscles of his fingers, just to snatch the short knife. Apparently, he had succeeded.
“What?!” Qiuyue was both shocked and angry.
“Shut up,” Tara’s smile was completely gone. He said with a grim face and a commanding tone, “Now, turn around.”
Qiuyue bit his lip, looked down at the long knife that was just a centimeter away from cutting his windpipe. Anger and humiliation swept through his brain like a hurricane hitting an island. But reason told him that he could only obey Tara’s command, unless he didn’t want to live.
Qiuyue lowered his eyes, his long eyelashes hiding the emotional fluctuations in his eyes. He slowly turned around. “That’s right,” he heard Tara say behind him. “Just so you know, I don’t want your life.”
I’d be a stupid pig to believe you, Qiuyue thought.
“I also don’t want to put you in prison,” Tara repeated this sentence, as if hoping to dispel Qiuyue’s concerns. Tara continued, “I just want to confirm one thing.”
“I won’t answer you anything,” Qiuyue refused.
“I don’t need you to answer me with your mouth,” Tara said.
Room 8107 was eerily quiet at this moment, with only the faint sound of running water and the friction of the wind from the central air conditioning passing through the ventilation ducts.
The Omega whose gland had been cut by Qiuyue finally opened his heavy eyelids. The intense pain had made him faint, and it also quickly woke him up from his unconsciousness. He couldn’t help but let out a painful groan. The intense pain from the gland on the back of his neck made his temples throb.
The Omega was in so much pain that he couldn’t think. In a daze, he felt a sticky liquid on his hand. He looked up at his hand and saw that it was blood!
His hand was covered in a layer of fresh blood, and the air was also filled with the rusty smell of blood.
“Ahhhhh—”
The Omega hadn’t even had time to recall what had just happened before he was scared out of his wits by the blood on his hands. He stumbled to his feet. The intense pain from the wound on the back of his neck being pulled made him scream again. He clutched the torn wound and shouted, wanting to leave this place and find a hotel staff member to take him to the hospital.
He finally managed to run out of the bathroom. Just as he reached the living room, he saw a shocking scene:
A strange Alpha was pressing a strange Omega tightly against the door. The Omega had his back to the Alpha and was struggling hard like a tuna caught in a fishing net. The Alpha, like a fisherman, had no intention of letting him go.
The Omega remembered who these two strangers were. The memory of being held hostage floated before his eyes. His lips were pale from blood loss, and his cheeks were also cold. He felt the wound on the back of his neck become even more painful. His legs trembled with fear. He stood in place, unable to leave, because these two people were blocking the door he had to pass through to leave.
The strange Omega, who had been holding him hostage with a knife not long ago, now looked extremely helpless. Perhaps his gaze was too direct. The strange Omega suddenly looked up and met his eyes.
He saw fear in the strange Omega’s eyes.
“Don’t look at him,” he saw the Alpha grab the Omega’s chin and say in his ear, “You should be focusing on me now.”
The petroleum-scented pheromones were like an invisible barrier, separating him from the strange Omega.
Until he saw the Alpha open his mouth, revealing his sharp canine teeth, and the surrounding Alpha pheromones also became agitated.
He saw the two canine teeth, sharper than a beast’s teeth, pierce into the gland on the back of the strange Omega’s neck. The strange Omega immediately let out a scream, and the petroleum-scented pheromones, like a natural gas explosion, spread out.
The Omega whose gland had been cut by Qiuyue immediately fainted again.
