After the two of them argued, Ji Xingci still left. Lin Wu thought it over for a moment and decided to wait right there.
Unfortunately, Ji Xingci must have gotten the unwanted result from that little pregnancy test stick. He was hit hard by it and didn’t come to see Lin Wu again that night.
The next day, Lin Wu checked his location and discovered that Ji Xingci had gone to a private hospital.
“Hmm…” Lin Wu couldn’t help furrowing his brow.
His task was to make the protagonist gong suffer enough anguish for love.
As a Good Luck System forced to take on this mission, Lin Wu had figured out that he could complete it as long as the protagonist gong’s pregnancy progressed all the way to the “birth” stage.
For Ji Xingci, even if there was only amniotic fluid involved, it might be enough to reshape that awful personality of his.
Lin Wu hadn’t wanted Ji Xingci to find out too soon, precisely because he was afraid Ji Xingci would opt for surgery. If that happened, the task might fail, and Lin Wu wouldn’t be able to leave.
But now that things had come to this, he had no choice but to stop him.
The question was how.
Ji Xingci hadn’t seen him all night, so there had been no contact. Lin Wu couldn’t remotely put him to sleep—he’d have to go find him in person.
Lin Wu gazed out the window of the penthouse apartment, cradling his aching head with a sigh. He wasn’t Spider-Man, after all.
No other choice.
A few seconds later, he stood before the gleaming elevator doors.
“Beep—”
A line of text popped up on the panel:
【Authorization not verified: Access prohibited.】
Lin Wu’s expression didn’t change. He casually rested his slender fingers on the edge of the card reader.
In an instant, a torrent of high-speed data—too fast for any ordinary person to perceive—flashed through his eyes.
The sealed metal doors suddenly lit up with a down arrow and slid silently open to either side, revealing the empty elevator car.
He stepped inside without pressing any floor button. The doors closed, the car dipped slightly, and then it began descending smoothly and silently, ignoring the internal controls entirely.
Meanwhile, down in the security monitoring room.
The screen of the main server logging elevator activity flickered without warning.
The monitoring officer was in the middle of lifting his coffee cup when he caught the flicker out of the corner of his eye. He frowned in confusion and leaned in closer to inspect it.
On the screen, the log entry for the penthouse elevator—which should have displayed “authorization error” and flagged an illegal access attempt—suddenly glitched with a burst of garbled data. Then, as if wiped clean by an invisible hand, it vanished.
Just two seconds later, the screen returned to normal. The latest entry now read: Elevator descended normally from penthouse to lobby. Operator… blank?
In less than a second, the system automatically filled in a default “maintenance debug” label.
“Huh?” The monitoring officer rubbed his eyes and muttered, “Did the machine glitch?”
He shook his head, took a swig of coffee, and turned his attention back to the other surveillance feeds.
By that point, the elevator had come to a smooth stop on the first-floor lobby. The doors slid open, and Lin Wu strode out with a furrowed brow, quickly vanishing into the crowd.
He had to hurry.

On the other side,
Ji Xingci had already settled into the consultation room.
The room boasted real leather sofas, plush carpeting, soft lighting, and just the right touch of fragrance. Even the windows were sealed tight, with only a decorative potted plant for ambiance.
The doctor rose to his feet, struggling to suppress the excitement sparkling in his eyes. Who could have imagined that after twenty years in the field, he’d get the chance to treat Young Master Ji?
But Ji Xingci had been utterly silent since walking in.
The doctor had no choice but to break the ice. “Rest assured, sir—all treatment records are strictly confidential between the two of us.”
He spoke slowly, his tone laced with earnest caution. “I know you chose to come here because you trust us. Whatever’s bothering you, please feel free to tell me.”
Whatever was bothering him…
He was… preg… preg…
Ji Xingci’s ears flushed bright red in an instant. His lips twitched, but he still couldn’t force the words out.
Right then, with a sharp snap overhead, the entire private clinic plunged into darkness.
The power had gone out.
The doctor was stunned. He asked Ji Xingci to wait a moment and stepped out to check on the situation.
Ji Xingci instantly slumped back into his chair, pressing a hand to his forehead as he let out a long breath in the pitch black.
If he could have his way, he wished the outage would last even longer.
Sadly, someone entered the room again soon after.
Ji Xingci assumed it was the doctor.
“What’s going on?”
No response.
A faint breeze brushed past, but it sent goosebumps prickling across Ji Xingci’s neck.
Some primal instinct made him whip his head around—but he was a step too late. A pair of powerful hands slammed his head down into the sofa.
The force was familiar. The suppression was absolute.
“!” Ji Xingci gritted his teeth in fury. “It’s you!”
Lin Wu had considered that Ji Xingci might be on guard for his return.
But he hadn’t expected Ji Xingci to swing a compact electric baton at him in retaliation.
The moment Lin Wu caught it bare-handed, a jolt of intense current surged through his left arm.
Lin Wu clenched his jaw.
Ji Xingci truly hated him with a vengeance. A normal person would have been knocked out cold from that voltage.
Even Lin Wu had to stagger back a step.
Ji Xingci lunged forward, only for Lin Wu to seize him firmly.
Fortunately, the curtains had been drawn tight for this confidential consultation, leaving the room in inky blackness where he couldn’t see a thing.
He probably hadn’t gotten a look at Lin Wu’s face.
Both of them were breathing raggedly, drenched in sweat. Before Ji Xingci could counterattack, Lin Wu pinned him down again, splaying his fingers to clamp tightly onto the back of his head.
Pass out!
Huh?
A bead of sweat trickled down Lin Wu’s temple.
Had part of his fertility function shorted out from the shock?
“Let me go! Who the hell are you?”
Ji Xingci’s chest heaved like that of a raging wild beast, impossible to control. He even managed to fish out his phone. A cluster of light suddenly flared in the darkness.
He wanted to see Lin Wu’s face.
Lin Wu’s expression turned icy. He kicked the phone away and raised the electric baton toward Ji Xingci’s head.
Ji Xingci kept struggling. “Was it you? You made me pregnant…”
“You bastard!”
“You dare touch me again…”
He strained with all his might, veins bulging on his neck, but he still couldn’t budge. His bangs stuck messily to the floor, his voice hoarse and trembling by the end, his eyes reddening.
Lin Wu held the baton aloft for a long moment but ultimately couldn’t bring it down.
Instead, he adjusted the voltage to its lowest setting with one hand and jammed it against Ji Xingci’s chest.
Ji Xingci’s entire body arched like a shrimp, his eyes flying wide in shock.
The indescribable sensation flushed his nape with humiliated heat.
“You! Don’t…”
Lin Wu knew the spot all too well—he could find the most vulnerable point on Ji Xingci’s pecs with his eyes closed. He altered his voice and leaned in close to Ji Xingci’s ear, letting out a cold chuckle.
“Want an abortion?”
“No need to trouble anyone else. I can personally churn up whatever’s in your belly, drag it out, and then impregnate you over and over again, time after time.”
“If you dare, then try it.”
Lin Wu spoke as he continued shoving the electric baton upward.
“Urgh, no! Don’t… I’ll kill you!”
Ji Xingci thrashed wildly, as if he hadn’t even heard the words, too busy gasping for air. His feverishly hot, rock-hard body remained pressed tight against Lin Wu’s. Every muscle thrummed with tension.
Lin Wu gritted his teeth. To stay in character, he shoved the electric baton downward once more.
Ji Xingci went rigid in an instant.
“Urgh…!”
The moment it made contact, Lin Wu paused. It didn’t feel soft at all.
He flicked on the current switch.
“Mmph—no! No—” Ji Xingci clenched his jaw in desperation, fingers clawing at the floor as his entire body shuddered violently. And somehow, just like that…
Even Lin Wu froze for a second.
His ears flushed red. As he held Ji Xingci close, he couldn’t suppress the frustrations that had been building over the past few days.
“Slut…”
The word twisted his earlier threat into something straight out of a perverse game.
Those two syllables shattered Ji Xingci completely. His eyes burned red as he lunged at Lin Wu in a frenzy.
But his sweat-slicked, overheated body had little strength left.
Lin Wu’s own face heated up—they were far too close. He pinned Ji Xingci down with unyielding force, close enough to hear the frantic thump of the man’s heartbeat.
“Don’t. Move.”
Lin Wu swung his palm down, landing a sharp smack on Ji Xingci’s ass. “Slut.”
“I’ll definitely kill you…” Ji Xingci’s voice cracked into fragments.
“Tch. Then do it.” Lin Wu’s head was swimming with heat too. In punishment, he thrust the electric baton backward.
It slid in without much resistance. Lin Wu, ever the gentleman, murmured periodic updates right in his ear—questioning just how much of that fancy education was all hot air.
Ji Xingci put up a fierce fight at first, hurling the filthiest curses. But by the time the doctor returned and knocked on the door, he had fallen utterly silent, not daring to utter a sound.
Lin Wu leaned in close to his ear. “Go on, kill me. What’s wrong? Cat got your tongue?”
Ji Xingci’s eyes squeezed shut, his damp hair and lashes clinging wetly to his skin. His forehead even rested against Lin Wu’s arm, his muscles clenched so tight they trembled. All he could manage were vague, choked noises from deep in his throat…
Lin Wu suspected he was fighting tooth and nail to suppress the sensations overwhelming him.
By now, the people outside had realized something was wrong. They tried every trick in the book but couldn’t force the door open.
Just as they prepared to break it down, Lin Wu’s hand finally recovered.
He swiftly knocked Ji Xingci out cold. The big star slumped limply into his arms, his eye sockets still rimmed red with defiance.
Lin Wu could already imagine the violent revenge fantasies brewing in that head…
With a helpless sigh, he scooped him up. After a moment’s hesitation, he straightened the man’s clothes and stashed him in the nearby cabinet.
He could only hope they wouldn’t find him in too humiliating a state.
Then Lin Wu pried open the window and slipped away.
On his way back, he pulled his old trick again, summoning the elevator.
As it rose, he lowered his eyes to his hand.
The center of his palm bore a faint ashen smudge from the shock, easily wiped away, leaving only a red mark behind.
Maybe he’d gotten a little carried away.
Lin Wu’s porcelain-pale ears tinged pink.
In the end, did he even need the electric baton?
Ji Xingci would’ve dreamed it up himself anyway. Why go to the trouble personally…?
Lin Wu shook his head, steadying his nerves, and at last reached the penthouse of the apartment.
He hadn’t even washed his hands when the butler came rushing in, panic-stricken.
“Mr. Lin, come with me at once!”
Lin Wu went rigid. “…What?”
The butler looked utterly frantic as he explained. “The Young Master was attacked outside. He’s hurt, but he won’t let anyone near him. He’s demanding Mr. Lin.”
