Chapter 60 p2
Wei Yan glanced at the few boxes and was about to agree when Lu Ze, who was beside him, said coolly, “No need.”
He looked sideways and saw Lu Ze withdraw his gaze from the ger and land on him, and said with a smile, “I’ll do it.”
The ger’s face paused for a moment, and then he bowed again. “You and the Marquis are deeply in love.”
Lu Ze glanced at him again and didn’t say anything more. He had someone leave the few boxes and then had the butler invite them to the front hall for tea.
As soon as the door was closed, the light in the room became much dimmer, and only a beam of light from the window shone in.
Lu Ze first picked up a piece of clothing. It was mainly light green, with a few orchids embroidered on it with similar embroidery thread. It looked unique and elegant, and also had a bit of a gentle and slow meaning.
Lu Ze turned his head and asked him, “How about this one?”
Wei Yan nodded. “It’s okay.”
Lu Ze took off his clothes for him and then put this piece of clothing on for him.
In the dim room, Wei Yan was only wearing a plain white undershirt. He looked at the person in front of him, his eyelashes trembling slightly.
A ger’s clothes were different from a man’s after all, and there were many complicated procedures just to put them on. But Lu Ze was patient. He tidied them for him one by one, from the inside to the outside, and also fastened the belt.
The two were very close, but there was no trace of ambiguity. Wei Yan couldn’t help but feel a little uncomfortable. He looked at the man with a serious expression in front of him and suddenly asked, “What were you thinking just now?”
Lu Ze’s action paused, and a smile bloomed on the corners of his mouth. He asked back, “What do you think I was thinking, Marquis?”
Wei Yan frowned. “You were looking at him just now with such a focused look. How would I know what you were thinking?”
Lu Ze looked up at him, and the hand that was tying the belt suddenly tightened. Wei Yan was caught off guard and was thrown forward, and happened to fall into Lu Ze’s arms.
Wei Yan looked up, his expression a little shy and annoyed. But Lu Ze let out a low laugh, and his jaw gently rubbed against his forehead, his voice faint. “I was thinking, the Marquis’s charm is really great. First there was that fifth prince, and now there’s a young ger.”
Wei Yan was stunned for a moment. Before he could react, Lu Ze looked down at him, his smile a little dangerous, and his voice was cold. “Then in the future, besides being on guard against men, I also have to be careful to guard against those gers. Oh, that’s right,” he drew out his voice, his smile deepening, “perhaps even the young ladies can’t be ignored.”
Wei Yan blinked. “What are you talking about?”
“What am I talking about?” Lu Ze smiled, and the hand around his waist tightened. “Didn’t you hear him calling you ‘Marquis’ over and over again, and his eyes were almost glued to you?”
Wei Yan was in a daze for a moment, and when he came back to his senses, he felt that it was absurd. “What are you thinking about…”
“Am I thinking about it?” Lu Ze tapped his forehead with his head, and the smile on his face was a little cold. “What does that kind of gaze mean? I can’t tell? And he even wanted to change for you—”
As Lu Ze spoke, he was about to laugh out of anger. He opened his mouth and bit his lips, and his voice was indistinct. “Anyway, you should stay away from him…”
Wei Yan was at a loss for whether to laugh or cry. “Maybe he didn’t mean that at all…”
“I don’t care if he meant it or not,” Lu Ze said. “In the future, you should also be careful when you get along with those gers. Don’t be too close.”
Wei Yan’s heart softened, and he said with a smile, “Not to mention that I don’t have a chance to get together with those gers, even if I do, most of them are not willing to play with me. How can there be any talk of being close?”
Most of them disliked him for being different from the world and thought he was vulgar and impolite. Wei Yan had never played with them, so how could it be as exaggerated as Lu Ze said?
But Lu Ze said, “But there are also gers like the one just now who admire and respect you.” He said seriously, “Maybe you haven’t realized it yourself, but your existence has provided many new choices for many gers.”
Wei Yan was stunned and speechless for a moment.
“Alright, in short, you should stay away from them,” Lu Ze said. He pulled him to the bronze mirror, led him to look at the person in the mirror, and he himself stood behind him, half-hugging him, his chin on his shoulder, and said with satisfaction, “My fulang is so beautiful.”
Wei Yan looked at himself in the mirror and was in a daze for a moment. He then looked up at the person standing behind him, paused for a moment, and suddenly looked up and kissed him.
Lu Ze paused, looked down, and Wei Yan had already turned around, facing him, his hands on his shoulders, and kissed him again.
Lu Ze wanted to go deeper, but Wei Yan suddenly covered his lips and took a step back, looking at him with wide eyes and shaking his head. “No, I still have to change into other clothes.”
Lu Ze was stunned for a moment, then smiled helplessly, but he couldn’t do anything and just reached out and squeezed his neck. Wei Yan subconsciously shrank his head. Lu Ze said, “Come here, I’ll help you change your hairpin.”
Wei Yan hesitated for a while. Lu Ze squeezed him again, and only then did he smile and follow him.
The clothes came with some accessories, such as earrings and bracelets. Wei Yan didn’t need the others and was not used to them, so he only changed into the jade hairpin of the same color. He watched as Lu Ze in the mirror took off his original hairpin and replaced it with the new one. His eyes lit up, and he looked back at him with an expectant look. “Is it beautiful?”
Lu Ze looked at him for a long time, then suddenly sighed and said, “I regret it a little.”
Wei Yan’s heart sank. He saw him lean down and rest his head on his shoulder, and he sighed in a low voice. “If you wear this out, how many people’s attention will it attract?”
Wei Yan’s heart was at ease, and he couldn’t help but smile. “It’s not as exaggerated as you say.”
He paused, then looked at himself in the mirror and said, “At worst, I won’t wear these out. I’ll just wear them in the mansion for you to see, okay?”
Lu Ze was silent for a moment, but he shook his head. “No.”
Wei Yan had a puzzled look on his face. Lu Ze turned his head and kissed the side of his neck, his voice laced with a smile. “You should wear it out and let others see how good my fulang is.”
“And then, let them know that you are mine.” Lu Ze looked up at the mirror, his face a little proud. “Let them regret it.”
Wei Yan raised his hand and touched his face, looked at the person in the mirror, and smiled. “You’re always good at saying sweet words to make me happy.”
“Of course I have to coax you more,” Lu Ze sighed. “Otherwise, what if someone else snatches you away?”
Wei Yan was silent for a moment. “They can’t.”
Lu Ze looked at him.
Wei Yan pulled down his hand, held one of his fingers in his palm, and said, “Having you is enough.”
…
The husband and wife dawdled in the room for a long time. In the end, they had changed all their clothes, and half an hour had passed.
The ger from the clothing store had been waiting in the lobby for a long time and had drunk several cups of tea. When he heard the noise, he looked out, but he still didn’t see anyone.
The young servant behind him saw his appearance and comforted him, “He hasn’t come out for so long. The Marquis of Weibei must be very satisfied with our clothes. Don’t be anxious, Yuan-ge’er.”
Yuan-ge’er drank a mouthful of tea and said, “I’m not anxious.”
As soon as his voice fell, he heard the sound of footsteps outside the door. He subconsciously put down his teacup, sat up straight, and poked his head out to look, and was instantly stunned.
He saw two people walking in together. One of them was in a light blue long robe, his figure tall and slender, and the hairpin on his head was also elegant and unique.
It was just the simplest style of ger’s clothes, without too many gorgeous decorations, but it made people unable to take their eyes off him.
Yuan-ge’er stood up and bowed. “Master Lu, Marquis.”
Wei Yan took two steps forward and said, “The few sets of clothes you sent are all very good. Thank you for your trouble.”
Yuan-ge’er quickly said, “It’s good that the Marquis is satisfied.”
Perhaps Lu Ze’s words had affected him. Wei Yan looked at Yuan-ge’er’s smiling appearance and couldn’t help but look at him a few more times and asked, “Are you the manager of this shop?”
Yuan-ge’er shook his head and said, “This shop belongs to my parents. I’m just helping out in the shop.”
But the young servant behind him said, “Yuan-ge’er is very amazing. Our shop was originally about to go out of business, but Yuan-ge’er single-handedly supported it to its current scale.”
Wei Yan sat down on the side and said, “It’s much harder for a ger to take on the family business than an ordinary man. It’s very impressive that you can achieve this.”
Yuan-ge’er’s face turned red, and he quickly waved his hand. “It’s just a small business. How is it worthy of the Marquis’s praise?”
Seeing the light in his eyes as he looked at him, Wei Yan paused for a moment, but he said, “It’s your own ability. What’s not to praise?”
Yuan-ge’er’s eyes were sparkling as he looked at Wei Yan. Hearing this, he couldn’t help but be shy, but he still mustered up the courage to say, “Speaking of which, it’s all thanks to the Marquis. If it weren’t for the Marquis telling me that a ger can also hold up half the sky and doesn’t have to be confined to the family’s inner courtyard, I’m afraid I wouldn’t have had this opportunity or the courage to go out and work hard to achieve this.”
Wei Yan’s action paused, and his expression softened slightly. He looked at him and said, “This is the result of your own hard work.”
He said, “In that case, I also hope that you can persevere, and your business will get better and better, so that everyone in the capital will know about your shop.”
Yuan-ge’er nodded excitedly. “Thank you, Marquis! I will!”
After seeing him out, Wei Yan finally turned his gaze to the side. Lu Ze had not said a word and had just been looking at him quietly.
Wei Yan reached out for his hand and said in a small voice, “Are you jealous again? I just think…”
“No,” Lu Ze said, and instead squeezed his hand, and kissed it by his lips, his eyes smiling. “I was just thinking, how can my fulang be so good?”
Wei Yan’s face turned slightly red, and he tapped his lips with his index finger. “Shameless.”
