The Whole Family Are Villains, I’m the Group Pet 133

Chapter 133

Wen Xingxue, hidden behind the wall, froze, pondering the players’ words.

A wife and kid in the dungeon?

Didn’t he have a wife and kid in the real world?

He felt a jolt, as if struck by lightning, and shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts.

Impossible. His connection to Xing Nuo and Shen Wen felt too real.

And Xing Nuo looked so much like him, their eyes almost identical. How could he not be his son?

The players continued their discussion:

“Besides Wen Xingxue, all the other top players have joined guilds or teams. He’s pretty impressive, soloing all those high-level dungeons and still surviving.”

“Don’t jinx it. It’s better for us if he’s alive. He keeps the monsters busy, making it easier for us.”

Wen Xingxue listened for a while. The players, still unable to find the dungeon’s “monster,” were sitting on the stairs, complaining, waiting for their leader to return with information.

Seeing their leader coming up the stairs, Wen Xingxue quickly slipped away and took the elevator down.

In those few minutes of eavesdropping, he had pieced together his identity.

A player in the horror world.

Seemingly without a wife and child, although Wen Xingxue was sure they just didn’t know him. He must have a family.

His personality seemed to be the same.

He couldn’t glean any more information, so he could only speculate.

Having bought the disposable bedsheets and pillowcases, he rode the elevator back upstairs, alone, thinking about the players’ words, and touched the watch on his wrist.

It vanished, and he accessed his spatial storage.

After a moment, he retrieved the items, his expression unchanged, and returned to the room to make the bed for Shen Wen and Xing Nuo.

Shen Wen was teaching Xing Nuo how to draw snowflakes.

With just a pencil, he drew an intricate and beautiful snowflake on a piece of paper.

Xing Nuo also drew a snowflake, small and slightly misshapen, and, comparing it to his dad’s, giggled.

He held up his drawing. “Other Daddy, look! Daddy’s snowflake…so pwetty!”

Wen Xingxue, handing Xing Nuo a glass of warm water, looked at the drawings and hummed in approval.

“Very realistic. Even the intricate patterns.”

Shen Wen’s smile widened as he leaned against the headboard, the warm lamplight illuminating his face, his golden hair shimmering, his beauty almost otherworldly.

Wen Xingxue quickly looked away, taking a sip of water.

Xing Nuo, still lying on his stomach on the bed, continued to practice drawing snowflakes.

Snow fell steadily outside, and by nightfall, a thick layer of snow covered the ground, the streetlights reflecting off the snow, making it as bright as day.

In the hotel hallway, the players were plotting.

“Where is this monster? It was in the complex, but now the energy readings are showing it’s in the hotel.”

“This dungeon is called ‘Happy Family Residence,’ but we can go outside the complex. That’s strange.”

They were discussing this, about to ask their leader for his opinion, when a cold voice sounded behind them:

“Monster? What monster?”

The voice, clear and crisp, like the falling snow, made them turn around.

They saw Wen Xingxue’s “wife,” his eyes cold as he stared at them.

The players relaxed slightly, patting their chests, and one of them whistled.

“Wen Xingxue’s NPC wife. Not bad.”

“How come we don’t even have an identity in this dungeon, but Wen Xingxue has a wife and kid?”

“I’m stuck as a salesman, no family, no nothing. Just a lonely bachelor.”

“Enough. Don’t waste your time talking to NPCs. They don’t understand. Let’s focus on the mission.”

They were about to walk past Shen Wen when he stepped forward, his beautiful eyes filled with a sinister glint.

“You’re looking for a monster? Tell me, what does it look like?”

A beautiful person in a dark, shadowy setting could be incredibly terrifying.

The players, looking at Shen Wen, felt a chill run down their spines, their hair standing on end.

“What’s wrong with this NPC?”

“Holy crap, he’s creepy! How can Wen Xingxue stand being with him?”

Just as they finished speaking, Shen Wen reached out and grabbed one of them by the throat.

He felt the surge of power in his hand, a comforting, familiar strength, and smiled, a chillingly beautiful smile.

So, I’m really not human.

The player, unable to breathe, his face turning red, gasped and choked, his vision blurring.

The other players, realizing something was wrong, took out their attack props.

Shen Wen dodged their attacks, his speed and strength returning, as if awakened by the threat.

He was about to kill them, to get rid of these annoying pests, when a figure rushed out from behind him.

“What are you doing?! Don’t touch him!”

Wen Xingxue, his knife in hand, slammed it into the floor in front of the players, creating a deep gash.

The players, startled, quickly backed away.

“Dude, he’s just an NPC! No, wait, he’s a monster!” they yelled, their eyes wide with disbelief.

That kind of power, how could he be just an NPC?

They frantically gestured at Wen Xingxue, telling him not to be fooled, to remember who was on his side!

“God Wen (Wen-shen), is your wife the dungeon monster?”

“Kill him! Then we can clear the dungeon!”

Wen Xingxue, his face expressionless, didn’t react.

He raised his knife, pointing it at the players.

“You burned down my house, and now you’re attacking my wife.”

His anger boiling over, he lunged at them, kicking and slashing.

“Get the hell out of here!”

The players, sprawled on the floor, their faces bruised and bleeding, looked up at him in disbelief.

“Dude, whose side are you on?!”

“Snap out of it! Is that monster using some kind of charm ability?!”

“Wen, we’re players! Your wife is a monster!”

Wen Xingxue, his ears ringing with their annoying voices, his anger intensifying, roared:

“Get out!”

His eyes were like chips of ice, his murderous intent barely contained.

The players, exchanging glances, scrambled to their feet, wiping the blood from their mouths.

“Wen Xingxue, you can protect your monster wife all you want, but you’ll never clear this dungeon!”

He’s actually being controlled by a pretty boy?!

So much for being the top-ranked player!

“Forget about him! Let’s go!” their leader yelled, taking out a teleportation prop and vanishing.

Wen Xingxue sheathed his knife, looking at the spot where they had disappeared, and fell silent.

Shen Wen walked over, his golden hair shimmering even in the darkness.

“Wen Xingxue, aren’t you afraid of me?”

Wen Xingxue put his knife away, took out a tissue, and carefully wiped the blood from his hand.

“Afraid of what?”

He turned and walked away, his voice low.

“Xing Nuo will cry if he wakes up and we’re not there. Let’s go back.”

Shen Wen, his lips pressed into a thin line, followed him silently.

They walked without speaking, the silence heavy between them.

Back in their hotel room, the moment they opened the door, a small, tearful child with a red nose rushed into Wen Xingxue’s arms.

“Waaah! Daddies not here!”

Xing Nuo, clinging to Wen Xingxue’s neck like an octopus, hiccuping, looked at Shen Wen and wiped his tears.

“Other Daddy and Daddy went out…no take Zaizai…”

Wen Xingxue carried him inside, pinching his nose gently as he wiped his tears and snot, his expression incredibly tender.

“We didn’t leave you. And we weren’t playing.”

Xing Nuo, not believing him, sniffled and turned his head away.

“You both have secwets now!”

He then yelled, “I not Daddy’s favorite anymore!”

Shen Wen, both exasperated and amused, his earlier complex emotions dissolving into laughter, said:

“Don’t you feel guilty saying that?”

He took Xing Nuo from Wen Xingxue’s arms, tucked him into bed, and patiently played finger games with him,

coaxing and comforting him until his sniffles subsided.

Watching Xing Nuo fall asleep, he kissed his forehead and went to sit on the sofa.

“Let’s talk.”

He looked at Wen Xingxue, who was sitting on the edge of the bed.

Wen Xingxue, glancing at the sleeping Xing Nuo, sat down on the sofa beside Shen Wen, his voice low.

“Okay. About what?”

This stumped Shen Wen. He thought for a moment, unsure where to begin.

Their relationship was complicated, built not on love and trust, but on animosity and secrets, yet it had somehow lasted this long.

Even Shen Wen found it unbelievable. He looked at Wen Xingxue and said:

“Those players were right. I’m a monster.”
