Chapter 116: The Blue
The snowflakes, which had stopped for a long time outside, began to fall again.
A large patch of mist from the bathroom spread out, wrapping around Fei Han’s exposed arm, and then condensed into moist water vapor, clinging to his still-cool hair.
Nuonuo hadn’t seen his little tail in a long time. He was so excited he spun around in the bathtub, his tail fin gently swaying in the water, occasionally splashing a drop or two.
Fei Han walked over with a large bath towel, cleared his throat, and stopped the little merman who was playing in the water.
“Nuonuo, come here. It’s time to get out.”
Only then did Nuonuo poke his little head out of the water. His slightly longer black hair at the back of his head floated on the water like seaweed, his eyes as dark and bright as ever, as he tilted his little face up to look at his brother.
“Brother, my taiw is out!”
Nuonuo’s little hands were on the edge of the bathtub, his fishtail like another species, stirring up waves of water.
Fei Han looked at this lively tail, which was even more translucent and sparkling in the water. The tip of the tail even kept curling up, as if it were about to break through its shackles and completely flap around.
But the light, gauze-like tail fin, as it swayed, was still so beautiful that one couldn’t take their eyes off it.
Through this clear blue, Fei Han, in a certain moment, suddenly thought of his tube of zombie potion.
It was also a clear and beautiful blue, sparkling under the sun, very eye-catching.
Only then did Fei Han realize that the potion he had temporarily sealed in the laboratory underground was highly coincident with the color of Nuonuo’s tail.
It was as if they had been mixed from the same color palette.
Frowning slightly, Fei Han shook his head, thinking to himself, Why am I thinking about that?
Shaking off the messy thoughts, Fei Han went over and wrapped the slippery Nuonuo in a large bath towel, carrying him to the bedroom.
The fishtail was much longer than Nuonuo’s two legs, and even Nuonuo’s special large bath towel couldn’t quite cover it, revealing a small tip of the tail from the bottom.
The moment they left the warm bathroom, the temperature in the bedroom was noticeably a few degrees lower. The tip of Nuonuo’s tail, which was not wrapped in the bath towel, quickly burrowed into the towel from the cold.
Fei Han saw this and couldn’t help but think that this tail was quite flexible.
A bit like a loach.
Nuonuo was placed on the bed and was reluctant to get out of the warm bath towel. He was wrapped up like a silkworm cocoon and burrowed into his little blanket.
“So cold, so cold!”
Nuonuo poked his head out from his little blanket, lifted his little face, and had his brother wipe the water from his hair.
Fei Han wiped his little face clean, dried his head with a hairdryer, tucked in the corners of his blanket, and after checking the doors and windows, he turned his head and said goodnight to Nuonuo.
Returning to his own bedroom, Fei Han took a very quick shower. He didn’t even bother with his dripping hair and sat at his desk, flipping through his book.
For the past two months, besides various academic seminars, Fei Han had hardly ever gone out, having collected a large pile of books to read at home.
Fei Jing had once seen Fei Han’s bookshelf, which had been filled with a new pile of books, and could only sigh at Fei Han’s desperate efforts, thinking that he was probably going to research a spaceship.
But usually, the words that could quickly make Fei Han concentrate and calm down, today, they just passed through his eyes without entering his heart. He hadn’t turned a single page for a long time.
Fei Han looked at the pile of tadpole-like words, but his mind kept flashing with the image of that pale blue reagent.
Besides Fei Han, no one else had ever seen the zombie reagent, which was already a semi-finished product.
Probably even if they did, they wouldn’t be able to connect this beautiful color with the ugly zombies.
This pale blue seemed to be the most perfect match for the little mermaids in human fantasy.
Just like Nuonuo’s fishtail, the crystal-clear blue seemed to be tailor-made for him.
Including Fei Han himself, he also felt that the zombie reagent was not worthy of such a beautiful color.
Fei Han’s fingers rested on a certain line on this page. After a long while, he finally moved his fingertips and gently turned the page.
Since it’s not worthy, then let’s just destroy it.
The sudden decision was made in an instant. Fei Han’s tense muscles relaxed, and he slowly leaned back in his chair.
After a night of snow, by morning, the ground was already covered in a thick layer.
Nuonuo was already a difficult one to wake up, and the cold winter air made him even more reluctant to leave his blanket. His little head was buried in the blanket, with only a few strands of black hair exposed.
Fei Han came to call him eight times in the morning. Seven times, Nuonuo didn’t even show his head, only responding with a muffled whimper to let Fei Han know he was still alive.
And the last time, Fei Han simply dug the little dumpling out of his bed, wrapped him in a down jacket, and carried him to the washroom.
Nuonuo lay on his brother’s shoulder with his head tilted, still half-asleep. It wasn’t until he was placed in front of the dining table that the aroma of breakfast finally woke him up.
There was nothing more joyful than waking up to a steaming hot soup dumpling!
Nuonuo held the bun with his little hands and, before he could even figure out where he was, he took a bite.
Fei Jing, who had also stayed up all night for an event, came over with a yawn to get a soup dumpling. Seeing Nuonuo’s dazed yet happily eating appearance, he couldn’t help but let out a light laugh. “It’s really quite magical. Is he awake or not?”
Fei Jing waved his fingers in front of Nuonuo’s dazed eyes and even poked his puffed-up cheek.
Nuonuo’s cheek was poked until it was red. Fei Han on the side saw this, frowned, and gave Fei Jing a cold glance. “Do you have nothing to do? Do you need me to find a few books for you to read?”
Fei Jing was already stressed enough about the exams in half a year. Hearing Fei Han’s words, he immediately let out a light “tsk” and turned around to slip away without looking back.
Fei Luo went to school early. In spring and summer, he could still have breakfast with the reluctantly early-rising Nuonuo, but once autumn came, the two of them never met at breakfast time again.
So by the time Nuonuo had finished gnawing on a small bun, only his eldest brother was left at the dining table.
Finally waking up from his sleep, Nuonuo rubbed his little face, which was a little sore for some reason, and happily took the porridge his brother handed him, drinking it obediently with a small spoon.
Fei Han ate quickly. His gaze fell on the still-snowing window outside, and he felt that winter had come quite early this year.
The snow is also falling fast, Fei Han thought.
The ski resort in the suburbs of Yuncheng should be open by now, right?
Nuonuo took a big bite and finished his hot porridge, then gnawed on a small bun. By the time he reached out his chubby little hand for a third one, he was stopped by Fei Han.
“You can’t eat anymore. You’ll get a stomachache.”
Fei Han reached out and touched Nuonuo’s already bulging little belly and said with a bit of helplessness.
Nuonuo also rubbed his little round belly. “Okay, ya.”
Seeing Nuonuo’s dejected little head, Fei Han wiped the corner of his mouth with a tissue. “How about I take you skiing?”
Hearing this, Nuonuo’s little eyes instantly lit up, but then a hint of confusion appeared in them, and he tilted his head to ask, “What is skiing?”
A hint of a smile appeared in Fei Han’s eyes. He picked up Nuonuo from the baby chair and said as they walked, “You’ll know when we get there.”
Nuonuo nodded his little head, and then, thinking of something, he quickly said, “Am I not going to kindewgawten?”
Fei Han instructed Auntie Wu to prepare some things for the trip. Hearing Nuonuo’s words, he just tapped his phone and said, “Your teacher notified that the snow is too heavy today, so there’s a day off.”
The snowy road was not easy to walk. By the time Fei Han brought Nuonuo to the ski resort, it was already two hours later.
Nuonuo was wrapped up like a little fat bear. The temperature at the ski resort was even lower, so besides the necessary down jacket, Fei Han had also put a fluffy brown-coffee-colored coat on him.
And so, Nuonuo, who was already as round as a ball, slipped on the icy snow the moment he got out of the car, his little legs flapping in the air, unable to even reach the ground.
“Brother! I can’t get up!”
Nuonuo lay on his back on the snow, struggling to swing his short little legs. Not only did he not get up, but he was also spinning in circles.
When Ji Bin rushed over, he happened to see Nuonuo spinning clockwise at one hundred and eighty degrees, like a little clock dial.
“Haha!”
Ji Bin laughed out loud without any politeness, propping himself up on his knees, the mist from his breath completely obscuring his own vision.
Fei Han got out of the car a step later. As he was about to pick up Nuonuo, he heard Ji Bin’s laughter and just coolly lifted his eyelids to look at him. “Did your throat get cut by glass? Your laugh is so ugly.”
Ji Bin instantly stopped laughing. Considering that Nuonuo was here, he could only whisper a “fuck.”
“You really can’t say anything nice! Hmph, I’m not talking to you. I’m going to cuddle with my Nuonuo!”
Ji Bin had only seen Nuonuo once at the racetrack and hadn’t seen the little cutie in a long time. He quickly rubbed his hands and, with a wicked cackle, went to pinch Nuonuo’s little cheek.
Nuonuo didn’t recognize the strange uncle opposite him at all. After being helped up from the ground by his brother, he quickly toddled behind his brother and hid.
Tugging at his brother’s clothes, Nuonuo revealed two little eyes and peeked at Ji Bin from behind his brother.
Ji Bin, on the other hand, clutched his chest and exaggeratedly wiped the corners of his eyes. “I’m so sad. Nuonuo doesn’t recognize me anymore, wuuu!”
Fei Han found his shouting really unpleasant. He picked up Nuonuo with a slightly dark face, wanting to get away from this drama queen quickly.
The audience was gone, so Ji Bin also lost his desire to perform. He quickly chased after them and teased Nuonuo. “I’ve invested a lot of money in this ski resort. The major shareholder is personally receiving you. Nuonuo, are you happy?”
Nuonuo felt that this uncle looked very familiar, but he still didn’t recognize him. He just shook his little head. “Not happy.”
Ji Bin’s chest was shot by an arrow, so painful he could barely breathe.
“Forget it, forget it. For the sake of your cuteness, brother won’t argue with you.”
Although Ji Bin had a playful mouth, he was still very reliable. He led Fei Han to a private ski resort next to them and even found a special coach for Nuonuo.
