“P-President Yu, don’t misunderstand! I… I just wanted Yi Ge to grab lamb soup with me. His reaction was hilarious… Uh, you two carry on, carry on. I won’t disturb.”
He Zhan had been scared straight by President Yu’s stares. He finished and bolted.
He shot Assistant Jiang, who was stifling a laugh, a look that said, “Why didn’t you warn me sooner?”
She’d been dead set against the lamb soup earlier, and she managed the hotel keycards—who’d believe she didn’t know?
At the same time, he felt a bit desolate. President Yu had come to visit Chu Yi, but he was all alone tonight. He’d have to game the evening away again… Back in his room, He Zhan huddled under the covers gnawing on a handkerchief. His boyfriend had been swamped since returning from leave—barely even texting, let alone visiting.
“You said you weren’t coming?” Chu Yi finally reacted, seeing the seafood, red wine, and… flowers? packed full on the dining table. His throat bobbed.
Yu Qingxian replied, “If I hadn’t come, I wouldn’t have known you were having so much fun with He Zhan on set?”
His cool features softened with the vibrant colors around him, like a touch of mortal warmth, and his eyes held amusement—he clearly wasn’t serious.
Chu Yi slowly approached and hugged President Yu’s slim waist. “Thanks. I love this surprise.”
His Yu had specially worn a white shirt today. That waist without an ounce of excess was cinched by a belt to barely an arm’s span wide—he’d wanted to do this the moment he saw it.
Chu Yi’s own build was even better. Fresh from a shower on set, he’d stripped to a slightly damp black T-shirt. The fabric clung perfectly to his taut deltoids and traps, flowing lines like an artist’s brush—one stroke too many or too few would ruin it.
Yu Qingxian caught the scent of body wash mixed with post-workout hormones on him. He felt lightheaded already, no wine needed, from his boyfriend’s embrace.
“Did you shoot a lot of action scenes today?”
Chu Yi flushed a bit. “Yeah, the sun came out—got kinda hot.”
He should’ve showered more thoroughly on set. Would President Yu mind?
Mind? Impossible. Yu Qingxian guessed Chu Yi was hungry and promptly invited him to the table.
“Don’t just eat—have some wine to go with it.” Yu Qingxian personally poured a glass of red wine and handed it over.
Chu Yi, mid-feast, paused. If anyone else poured it, he’d refuse outright. But this was his partner—plus, he didn’t need to drown sorrows anymore. A little should be fine?
“Cheers, then?” Chu Yi raised his glass, cheeks warming. President Yu had set up a candlelit dinner, and here he was, chowing down—zero romance!
“Cheers.” Yu Qingxian played along. Forget Chu Yi being shy—he felt it too, especially thinking about what came next…
Yu Qingxian had something on his mind and barely ate. Chu Yi, on the other hand, demolished most of the feast, downing the better part of the wine.
Seeing Chu Yi finish, Yu Qingxian set down his glass, wiped his mouth, and casually said, “Remember those custom rings we ordered last time? I brought them.”
“Really? Where?” Chu Yi craned his neck. His handsome face flushed from the wine, even those usually deep, clear eyes now hazy and unfocused. Drunk already?
Yu Qingxian reached for the ring box hidden under the flowers, but Chu Yi snatched it first, grabbing one and jamming it onto his finger. “I, I know… what rings mean in your modern world… Once it’s on, you’re mine!”
Wine fumes rolled off him, along with pure goofiness. His hand wobbled as he aimed the ring forever, finally lining it up—only for a new issue. “It won’t go on…”
Why not?
Chu Yi’s reddened eyes fixed on the ring, baffled and a bit aggrieved.
When aggrieved, of course he’d turn to his little wife. Chu Yi lifted his peach-blossom eyes pleadingly to his little wife. Ring wouldn’t fit—did that mean his little wife was slipping away too?
Yu Qingxian helplessly reminded him, “You grabbed the wrong one.”
“No wonder it wouldn’t fit—I knew it! These custom rings, and those guys were so irresponsible…” Chu Yi grumbled, but kept fumbling anyway—who knew what he was thinking.
Yu Qingxian swapped it out for him. “This one’s yours.”
He personally slid it on, then shyly asked, “D-Do you want to put mine on me?”
“Sure!” Chu Yi wobbled as he did it, then smooched it. “Knew you’d look good in anything.”
Watching Chu Yi go full wild mode, Yu Qingxian wanted to laugh, felt sweet too. “You look good in it too.”
“Too bad—I left the ointment back at the villa.” Otherwise, they could’ve gotten saucy.
Yu Qingxian’s ears reddened as he coughed. “I brought it.”
“Really?” Chu Yi perked up instantly.
Yu Qingxian figured Chu Yi might ask what it was for, but nope—not a question. He scooped him up, swaying, and hustled to the bed.
He got dumped heavily onto the mattress. Chu Yi knelt between his legs with one bent, scanning around. “Where’d you put it? I don’t see it.”
Yu Qingxian: “…”
He slowly sat up and fished the ointment from the nightstand drawer.
Chu Yi grinned wide. “Don’t worry—anything I make is top-notch. Won’t hurt you. Be good, let’s kiss first. Kisses done, then we do the rest…”
Yu Qingxian continued: “…” He’d thought Chu Yi wasn’t in a rush, but drunk like this?
Still remembering not to hurt him in the moment… Yu Qingxian endured the sloppy face-wetting kisses while actively guiding what followed. Tiring, sure, but gazing at that handsome face flushed with desire, he felt utterly content and cradled Chu Yi’s head for a kiss.
Chu Yi: “Don’t move—I can’t see you clearly. Where’s your mouth, where…”
Yu Qingxian: “…”
Next time, absolutely no letting Chu Yi get drunk!
