Chapter 20 Part 1

This move not only stunned Gu Bai but even caught Feng Qinghan off guard. After all, the man had been unconscious just moments ago, and now here he was, staking his claim.

Taking advantage of everyone’s shock, Jing Chi grabbed Feng Qinghan and hurried away.

That left Gu Bai standing there alone.

A moment later, footsteps echoed closer and closer.

Gu Bai thought it was the man on his mind. His eyes lit up with joy as he looked up. “Brother Qinghan…”

But when he saw it was Lu Shichen, the light in his eyes dimmed instantly. He called out awkwardly, “Shi… Shichen, it’s you.”

“You like him that much?”

The man’s entire face was shrouded in shadow, making it impossible to read his expression. But the gloomy tone of his voice made his foul mood all too clear.

The moment Gu Bai met those dark, brooding eyes, something inside him snapped. Words tumbled out before he could stop them. “It’s all because of you! If it weren’t for you, why would Brother Qinghan treat me like this?”

He had conveniently forgotten that it was he who had first gotten tangled up with Lu Shichen.

Lu Shichen stepped forward and seized Gu Bai’s chin. Staring into those resentful eyes, he tightened his grip until the veins bulged on his hand. “Are you blaming me?”

Suddenly, he let out a low chuckle that sent chills down the spine. He fixed his gaze on Gu Bai’s eyes and said, word by word, “Then let’s make it thorough. I’ll destroy him. Would that finally get all your attention focused on me?”

Seeing the madness in Lu Shichen’s eyes, Gu Bai felt a surge of fear. He turned his head away and mumbled a defense. “I… I didn’t mean it like that.”

But Lu Shichen ignored him.

Over the past while, his resentment toward Feng Qinghan had built up to a boiling point, and this was merely the spark.

Ever since Feng Corporation had made its move, his career had been crumbling. He’d lost project after project. Father Lu was utterly disappointed in him and had already begun grooming another heir.

How could Lu Shichen possibly let go of the power that had been within his grasp?

Especially when he saw Gu Bai still pining after Feng Qinghan. That resentment had reached its absolute peak.

~~~
Meanwhile, Jing Chi had dragged Feng Qinghan all the way to the garage.
It was only then that he suddenly remembered he was supposed to be pretending to be drunk. Well, the cat was out of the bag now.
“Brother.” He flashed a placating smile and scratched at the man’s palm affectionately.
Feng Qinghan snorted coldly, his tone laced with sarcasm. “Very good, Great Actor Jing. You’ve really pulled out all the stops with your acting for me, haven’t you?”
Jing Chi’s brow twitched. He sensed danger.
But then he remembered something and arched a brow. He leaned in close to Feng Qinghan’s ear, his warm breath teasing as he murmured ambiguously, “Brother, I wasn’t acting. I really was drugged—just a tiny bit. But seeing you made it feel like a whole lot.”
As he spoke, he took Feng Qinghan’s right hand and guided it downward.
The next instant, Feng Qinghan jolted at the heat under his fingertips. He yanked his hand back, a faint flush creeping across his face—whether from anger or embarrassment, he couldn’t say. He shot Jing Chi a glare and growled under his breath, “Home. Now.”
Jing Chi nodded obediently at once.
They drove back in silence, with Feng Qinghan not sparing him so much as a glance.
Jing Chi, meanwhile, propped his chin on his hand and pondered what fun things they might get up to once they were home.
They arrived at the villa, and Feng Qinghan bolted straight upstairs. That earlier touch had rattled him so badly that his mind was still a blank slate.
Jing Chi trailed behind, a smile tugging at his lips as he watched the man’s flustered back.
Feng Qinghan stopped by the bedroom window and flung it open, letting the cool night breeze clear his head a little.
Now that he was calmer, he reflected on Jing Chi’s bold move in the parking garage. It wasn’t such a big deal, was it? They were both men—just a normal reaction, nothing more.
But when he heard the door creak open behind him, a flicker of regret passed through his eyes. He should have locked it.
Jing Chi, on the other hand, was in high spirits.
He sidled up to Feng Qinghan and rested his head on the man’s shoulder, whispering softly into his ear, “Brother, how about we take a bath together later?”
Feng Qinghan, who had just finished psyching himself up, froze for a second.
He repeated to himself in his mind: We’re both guys. It’s fine. No big deal.
Besides, it was just a naked male body. He’d seen plenty of those in the hospital.
So after a couple of seconds, Jing Chi heard the man’s steady voice reply, “Sure.”
Now it was Jing Chi’s turn to be surprised—but delight quickly took over. His eyes sparkled with amusement as he kept digging the hole.
“Since Brother agreed, you can’t go back on your word.”
Feng Qinghan kept a calm expression, his face steady. “No regrets.”
Later on, he would regret those words deeply.
“Great!” Jing Chi cheered, a mischievous glint in his eyes. He scooped the man up into his arms and headed straight for the bathroom.
“What are you carrying me for?” Feng Qinghan struggled a bit but couldn’t break free, so he gave up.
Jing Chi replied matter-of-factly, “To save Brother some energy.”
Feng Qinghan, full of doubts, was tossed into the bathroom.
A commotion ensued from the bathroom.
“Don’t take my clothes off—I can do it myself.” The man’s voice carried a hint of panic.
“Why are you staring at me? Turn around.”
“Jing Chi, where are your hands touching?”
Jing Chi pulled him into his embrace, silencing those lips that had been teasing him right in front of his eyes.
After kissing him senseless, Jing Chi rasped, “Brother, this is just the beginning.”
There was a seductive edge to his tone.
The sound of running water drowned out the broken moans from deep in his throat.
“Brother.” Jing Chi whispered in Feng Qinghan’s ear. In response, the man’s fingertips dug tightly into his shoulder.
The night seemed endlessly long…
~~~

Jing Chi opened his eyes to find himself in a vast, empty hall. The only thing there was an ornate throne, and not a soul in sight.

He clearly remembered carrying Feng Qinghan back to bed from the bathroom, the man’s refined features flushed with exhaustion and lingering desire.

Jing Chi frowned and called out, “System?”

No one answered.

Then he looked up. Countless small screens floated in the sky.

Jing Chi raised his hand and pointed at one at random. It drifted right over to him.

The screen displayed an entire world.

It played like a movie, scenes shifting with the flow of time, every person’s life unfolding in full detail.

In that instant, one face caught his eye.

That identical tear mole, that familiar feeling—it shook Jing Chi to his core.

With a jolt, Jing Chi’s eyes snapped open. Darkness surrounded him, pierced only by faint moonlight from outside. The weight on his arm made him glance down.

Feng Qinghan lay curled peacefully in his arms, the red flush still fading from the corners of his eyes. And that tear mole on the man in his arms matched exactly the one he’d seen in his dream.

He sensed that some truth was slowly unveiling itself before him, though he didn’t yet know what it all meant.

But one thing he knew for sure: it had everything to do with the man beside him.

Jing Chi brushed aside the damp strands of hair from Feng Qinghan’s face and planted a gentle kiss on his forehead.

The man in his arms murmured sleepily, “No more…”

Jing Chi chuckled helplessly, then held Feng Qinghan close and drifted back to sleep.

~~~
The next morning at dawn.
The first thing Feng Qinghan saw upon opening his eyes was Jing Chi’s handsome face. He shifted slightly, and a twinge of discomfort shot through his lower body.
His expression darkened. He never imagined a day would come when he’d be pinned beneath someone—and worse, that he’d gone along with it willingly.
The moment he stirred, Jing Chi woke up too.
His voice was husky from sleep, eyes still closed as he instinctively pressed his forehead to Feng Qinghan’s. Satisfied, he mumbled, “No fever.”
That comment didn’t bother Feng Qinghan much at first, but it quickly brought back a flood of chaotic memories from the night before.
Especially when he’d tried to pull away, only for Jing Chi to grip his waist even tighter.
“Let go of your hand—I need to go to the hospital.”
Feng Qinghan slapped at the arm pinning him down, but Jing Chi took full advantage, burying his face right into the man’s chest.
“No way. Brother’s body needs rest.” He shook his head, rubbing his cheek against Feng Qinghan for good measure.
“I’m the doctor, or are you?” Feng Qinghan gritted out.
Hearing that, Jing Chi finally lifted his head. He grinned at Feng Qinghan, then asked with utmost seriousness:
“So, am I the husband, or are you? Be good, Brother-wife—listen to me.”
Feng Qinghan had never dreamed “Brother” and “wife” would end up together like that—and so shamelessly, at that.
Seeing Feng Qinghan at a loss for words, Jing Chi was pleased. He grabbed the man’s phone and called in sick for him.
Once that was done, Jing Chi settled back down, wrapping his arms around Feng Qinghan and murmuring, “Brother, sleep a little more. You barely got any rest last night.”
Feng Qinghan: …
Whose fault was it that he hadn’t slept well?
In the end, the two of them slept straight through until noon.
Jing Chi woke first. He planted a gentle kiss on the forehead of the man in his arms, then slipped quietly out of bed.
He picked up his phone, intending to search for recipes, but his attention was immediately captured by the trending hot search.
New Rising Star Publicly Seduces Someone’s Husband#
Jing Chi tapped it without surprise and found Bai Yusheng right at the top.
The System popped up at once, launching into a vivid retelling of the previous night’s events.
After drinking the spiked wine, Bai Yusheng had lost all control and lunged straight at the person next to him.
That man, who welcomed advances from anyone regardless of gender, immediately started groping him all over.
The problem was, the man’s wife was right there chatting nearby. When she glanced over, her temper flared. She charged forward, hurling curses and blows.
The pair ended up scrambling in all directions to escape her fury.
If Bai Yusheng hadn’t arranged for those reporters in advance on Jing Chi’s behalf, his scandal wouldn’t have blown up on the hot searches so quickly.
In the end, all his preparations had backfired on him.
Reporters swarmed the scene. Though they hadn’t caught Jing Chi on camera, the spectacle before them was explosive enough—they weren’t about to miss it.
Once Bai Yusheng sobered up and saw the fallout, his vision went black. He knew he was finished.
At the same time, the police investigation uncovered banned drugs at the banquet. Following the trail, they zeroed in on Bai Yusheng and arrested him on the spot.
Jing Chi listened without much reaction. Karma was a bitch, after all—self-inflicted wounds.
He lowered his head and resumed scrolling through recipes.
“This one’s too complicated. I don’t think I can manage it.”
“This looks way too hard. No way.”
“God, even making a single meal is this difficult?” Jing Chi sighed dramatically at the ceiling.
“Why don’t you just order takeout, Host?” the System suggested.
“That’s a great idea.” Jing Chi pulled out his phone and got to work.
By the time Feng Qinghan came downstairs, Jing Chi had four dishes and a soup laid out neatly on the table.
“Brother, come eat,” Jing Chi called, waving him over.
Feng Qinghan approached the table and sat down, only to sink into something soft. He glanced down to see that Jing Chi had placed a cushy seat pad there for him.
Jing Chi got bound to a system by accident. The system tasked him with saving novel worlds on the brink of collapse due to their villains blackening.
An aloof and handsome doctor, a sharp-tongued, icy-faced Insect Clan general, a crippled business tycoon, an amnesiac Demonic Cult Leader...
Jing Chi: That's it? That's all?
Later, after skimming the plot summaries, he scoffed:
"Where's this supposed peerless big bad villain? This is nothing but some poor bastard's giant ball of resentment."
Even later, he coughed awkwardly. "Ahem, well... yep, that's my big ball of resentment—er, big cutie."
Hee hee, here comes wifey.
[Modern AU]: Elegant aloof doctor (bottom) x struggling indie actor (top)
Fresh from rebirth, Feng Qinghan woke to find an overly pretty young man in his bed, covered in suspicious marks. The youth gazed at him with misty, aggrieved eyes. "You have to take responsibility for me."
The big villain got saddled with a clingy bedmate before he could even blacken?
Later, that same pitiful youth pinned him down beneath a sly grin, cooing "wifey" all the while.
The big villain realized he'd been played—but for some reason, he wasn't mad at all. What now?
[Insect Clan AU]: Sharp-tongued icy general (bottom) x Slum Star crown prince (top)
General Pei Rui had once proclaimed: "The thing I hate most in the world is male insects."
Back then, the tall, handsome female insect's eyes brimmed with ice-cold disdain.
Later, the haughty general knelt on the ground, whip in hand, pleading:
"Male Lord, please... cherish me."
Jing Chi's pupils quaked.
Who knew you were *that* kind of general!
[Supernatural AU]: Two-faced evil spirit (bottom) x Celestial Master powerhouse (top) (campus redemption)
(One's the hopelessly romantic little pitiful in his true form; the other's a super tsundere little evil spirit—always hopping mad at himself, but fiercely adorable.)
"You promised you'd stay with me forever. How about hell?"
The top kissed the scowling little villain, then pulled out a cute doll body. "Want me to make it even handsomer?"
The little villain's expression flipped in an instant, cheeks tinting pink. "Make that part a little bigger."
The top flashed a roguish grin. "You don't even use it. Why so big?"
Little villain: ...
Villain's POV:
The world bullies and shames me? Fine, I'll shove it right back down their throats—even if it leaves me battered and broken, I'll tear it all apart.
Until one day, that person brushed a gentle kiss across my cheek. He didn't care how wicked I was. He only asked if my wounds hurt.
For him, I'd gladly sheathe my claws and blunt my fangs. Just let him stay by my side... forever.
