Chapter 98: Pain
The Elder was completely cleaned out.
Besides the Elder, several of his subordinates had also all gone in.
Under the military’s strict interrogation, in just a few days, they had confessed everything, and all the evidence had been collected. The Elder, seeing that there was no room for recovery, confessed to his crime of tampering with the warship.
The few people involved, according to the Imperial laws, were sent to the prison star. The former was sentenced to death, and the latter to life imprisonment.
When Deng Xi noticed that something was wrong, it was when he suddenly noticed that the little mute was no longer wearing the cold and uncomfortable mechanical gloves, and the treatment pod in the treatment room was also gone.
He told the little mute what he had discovered and asked curiously, “Will Little Mute not have to wear gloves in the future?” He held the hand that was much larger than his, looking left and right, pinching here and there, and rubbing.
Si Jisheng opened his left hand. His pale fingertips were well-defined under the light, lean and powerful. The calluses made Deng Xi’s hand itchy. With just one hand, the little merman could hold it and play with it nonstop.
A low, magnetic voice replied with a soft sound.
Deng Xi’s eyelids curved in delight. He happily touched the little mute’s fingertip. “Then it won’t hurt here anymore.”
He had noticed a long time ago that the little mute, in his silver Jiaoren state, was different from when he was human. His sharp claws would pop out uncontrollably.
If he were wearing mechanical gloves, his claws would be restrained and unable to extend, which would definitely be both tight and painful.
Si Jisheng replied with a sound again.
Today was the weekend, and they were at home.
Deng Xi was sitting on a very high chair, lying on the table, watching as the little mute took many bottles and jars and poured them into the same cup, a little here, a little there.
Behind Si Jisheng was a whole wall of a wine cabinet. He lowered his eyes and saw Deng Xi move closer, sniffing by the side of the cup. He was stunned for a moment and muttered in a small voice, “It stinks.”
It was not a nauseating and disgusting smell, but a smell that Deng Xi had never smelled before, a very unfamiliar smell. It was a bit pungent. With a single sniff, the little merman was a little dizzy.
Si Jisheng’s eyes were indifferent and a little relaxed. He took a gulp of the mixed drink.
Deng Xi was stunned for a moment and couldn’t help but be curious. “Is it good?”
Si Jisheng did not think much of it. “You can’t drink it.”
Deng Xi was unhappy. “Why?”
Why could the little mute drink it, but he couldn’t? While the little mute was turning around to tidy up his tools, Deng Xi secretly picked it up, sniffed it again, pinched his nose, and cautiously took a small sip.
A bitter taste instantly assaulted his taste buds. The overly stimulating spiciness made Deng Xi close his blue eyes tightly. The mouth of a merman, who had rarely eaten stimulating food, was very fragile. Si Jisheng rarely let Deng Xi eat spicy human food, and overly salty seasoned dishes had never appeared on their dining table.
It was not because Deng Xi had just come of age and couldn’t drink, but because his stomach was too fragile. Without getting used to it, he might get sick if he drank it.
But fortunately, it was only a small sip.
While Deng Xi’s little face was scrunched up, he vaguely felt the transparent wine glass in his hand being taken away. A soft handkerchief was pressed against his lips. “Spit it out.”
Deng Xi was not so stupid as to swallow the disgusting thing. He obediently spat out the wine that was in his mouth.
After he had covered the corners of his lips, the handkerchief was thrown into the trash can.
Si Jisheng lowered his eyes and looked at Deng Xi, who was sticking out his tongue and was extremely spicy. He placed the ice water on the side by the other’s mouth. “Why did you sneak a drink?”
Several strong liquors were mixed together. With this one sip, even the adjutant might not be able to take it.
Deng Xi took a small sip of ice water and shook his head. For some reason, he had become a little dizzy, and his speech was also slow. “Because Little Mute was drinking, I… also wanted to drink.” He pursed his lips. “I just wanted to drink.”
His eyelids were wet, as if if he didn’t let him drink, he would cry.
This was Deng Xi’s first time being drunk. Si Jisheng had not yet noticed the abnormality. He looked back, opened a bottle of lighter-colored, younger rum, took a new cup, poured a little in, and handed it to Deng Xi.
The little merman cautiously sniffed it and smelled a caramel aroma, with a fruity and a faint oak scent.
The fragrant and sweet alcoholic taste was instantly distinguished from the cup that was not good to drink and smelled bad just now.
Deng Xi picked it up and drowsily poured it into his mouth.
It was sweet.
It was delicious.
The wine glass was heavily knocked on the table. Deng Xi blinked his eyes in a daze and only felt that the front of him was colorful, and many double images had appeared. He counted on his fingers. “Mmm, there are so many little mutes.”
He couldn’t count them all, and he shook his head again.
His body also swayed from side to side. The moment Deng Xi dizzily fell backwards, Si Jisheng instantly bent down, and with a long arm, he caught Deng Xi from across the table, his brow furrowed tightly.
He rarely drank, but the heavy burden on his heart had recently been lifted, and it just so happened to be a holiday, so he had relaxed his tense nerves with a sense of relief.
He had never thought that he would lead the little merman astray.
“Sit properly.”
“Mmm! I’m sitting properly.”
Deng Xi nodded his head vigorously. He was a little agitated, but he was still obedient. Si Jisheng watched as he sat up straight and was no longer swaying from side to side, and after there was no risk of falling, he put down the wine glass, turned to the other side, and bent down to open his arms.
Before he could touch him, a soft body with a sweet, alcoholic scent pounced into his arms.
He was a little abnormally proactive.
Deng Xi hugged the man’s neck, and the top of his head rubbed against Si Jisheng’s chin. His hot breath was also on his neck. “Are you going to hold me?”
It was clearly him who wanted to be held.
Si Jisheng replied with a low “hmm.”
His blue eyes curved happily. Deng Xi was lifted into the air, and his line of sight instantly rose. He lowered his head and looked down at the little mute.
He used his fingertips to poke the silver eyes’ eyelids, and to poke the little mute’s nose. Then, his curious gaze landed on his sharp, thin lips. His dizzy head made Deng Xi completely lose his sense of shame, and he stared at him boldly and directly.
He closed his eyes, then opened them again. He didn’t know what he was saying himself. “You’re so good-looking.”
Si Jisheng paused for a moment, and his speech was slow. “Deng Xi?”
Deng Xi blinked his eyes sluggishly. “I’m here.”
Si Jisheng’s steps up the stairs slowed down. “Do you still recognize who I am?”
Deng Xi thought for a moment with a troubled expression. “You are—” he repeated, “You are… who are you?”
His eyes were beautiful, and his nose was also beautiful.
“Is your tail also so beautiful?”
Deng Xi looked down and was a little disappointed. “Ah, you don’t have a tail.” Soon, he said again, “It’s okay.”
The little merman lay down and whispered in this person’s ear, “Even without a tail, I still like you very much.”
He tried his best to sell himself. “I’m of age, and I don’t have a mate yet. Excuse me, are you willing to mate with me?”
Deng Xi said clumsily, “My tail is very beautiful!”
He was following his nature, following his instincts, enthusiastic and open. The golden-haired, blue-eyed youth was so beautiful that it was impossible to look away.
Si Jisheng’s eyes were deep. He reminded, “You have a mate.”
Deng Xi was momentarily stunned. “Mmm,” he said. He vaguely remembered that he probably, perhaps, maybe, did indeed have a mate.
But, he liked, really liked the person who was holding him now. The first time he had seen him, he had really, really wanted to be with him.
Then what should he do?
“Then shall we be together secretly?” The little merman was just like he was really having an affair with someone. The tips of his ears were red, and he said in a small, guilty voice.
Si Jisheng pressed, “Then what about your mate?”
Deng Xi said anxiously, “I don’t want him. I want you.”
His blue eyes stared blankly as the Adam’s apple on his neck rolled once. A short, low laugh sounded by his ear. The magnetic voice was so hot that his ear was both tingling and numb.
The little merman was almost bewitched.
Deng Xi’s tone was sticky. “Can I kiss you now?”
His eyes were shining.
Si Jisheng opened the door. He had originally wanted to wipe Deng Xi’s face to see if he could make him less drunk. But now, the existence of the washstand had become another convenience.
Deng Xi’s head was held by his palm. He was placed on the smooth marble, and behind him was the cold mirror.
Any of his unreasonable requests would be met.
Including this time.
A deep and long kiss.
He had lost his reason, was drunk, and had been kissed until his mating season had acted up again. Deng Xi had completely become a little pervert fish who only acted according to his desires.
Si Jisheng had asked three times. He couldn’t remember how many times he had pushed Deng Xi away. He couldn’t bear it anymore.
Chaos, daze.
Pleasure…
Pain.
Deng Xi was clinging to the silver Jiaoren’s body, his eyes red from crying. In a daze, he heard a hoarse voice whisper in his ear, “Do you want to go back to the ocean to play?”
