Ouyang Yuyuan returned from his business trip and finally gave himself a day off, sleeping until the sun was high in the sky.
Since it was reimbursable, he called for a deluxe breakfast as soon as he woke up. He didn’t even get out of bed, just lay there playing on his Mobile Phone while waiting for it to arrive.
Knock knock. “Mr. Ouyang, your breakfast has arrived.” A polite voice from the waiter sounded outside the door.
Ouyang Yuyuan threw on his bathrobe and opened the door, about to let the waiter bring it in, when someone shoved past the waiter even faster, nearly knocking over the breakfast cart, and rushed in to hug him tightly.
Ouyang Yuyuan was utterly dumbfounded. He almost thought the waiter and this guy were in cahoots, trying to trick him into opening the door!
At the critical moment, the waiter spoke first, his tone shocked. “Mr. Fu, what are you doing here? Assistant Feng and the manager are looking everywhere for you. Come back with me.”
As he spoke, he let go of the cart and moved to pull Mr. Fu away, but the man clung to Ouyang Yuyuan with a childlike expression. “No!”
When the waiter tugged harder, he burst into loud sobs. “I won’t go! You’re a bad guy! I don’t want to go with you! I want to stay with Brother!”
Could you imagine a man in his thirties, tall and burly—half a head taller than Ouyang Yuyuan—clinging to him and bawling like a baby?
Ouyang Yuyuan felt like his waist was about to snap. He quickly stopped the waiter. “Wait, wait! Don’t pull him. The more you pull, the tighter he holds on. I can barely breathe!”
Wasn’t this Mr. Fu a bit simple-minded? Why was his grip so strong!
Sure enough, he’d already realized Mr. Fu wasn’t quite right in the head. A normal adult man wouldn’t hug a stranger and cry like this, right?
The waiter was at a loss and first asked Ouyang Yuyuan’s permission before using the room’s internal line to notify the front desk.
Ouyang Yuyuan hadn’t even washed his face yet. Thinking people would arrive soon, he prepared to freshen up first. Unfortunately, he forgot he had a giant human koala wrapped around him. He had just stepped out with one foot when he was dragged back.
Helpless, Ouyang Yuyuan spoke to him gently. “Mr. Fu, let go first. I need to wash my face.”
Mr. Fu had stopped crying as soon as the waiter gave up. Now, he buried his head in Ouyang Yuyuan’s neck in an awkward position, unclear if he’d even heard.
Ouyang Yuyuan repeated himself.
Mr. Fu lifted his head, two tear tracks still on his face. “No, you’ll run away if I let go.”
Just like yesterday—he’d blinked, and the man vanished.
Ouyang Yuyuan looked at his chiseled, handsome face and twitched his lips. “I won’t. I’m just going inside to wash my face. I’ll be right back.”
Mr. Fu eyed him distrustfully, his expression stubborn.
Ouyang Yuyuan gave up completely and made a creepy uncle face to coax a child. “Be good. How about Brother takes you to wash your face together?”
This time, Mr. Fu agreed.
The waiter watched wide-eyed as Mr. Fu clung to Mr. Ouyang in that bizarre pose and entered the bathroom. If you didn’t know better, you’d think they had some special relationship.
Soon, voices came from the bathroom—
“Let go of Brother first. Brother needs to… relieve himself.”
“What does ‘relieve himself’ mean?”
“It means pee!”
“Oh, then I need to pee too.”
“Wait, wait until Brother turns around… Holy shit!! How is yours… how is it so…”
The waiter couldn’t help inching closer. So what?
Meanwhile, what was Chu Yi up to? Director Wu, who had just returned from the south, had summoned him.
Chu Yi met Director Wu at the hospital. He jumped in shock at the sight of him. “Director Wu, what happened to you…”
Wu He had gauze wrapped around his head, one arm in a sling, and countless scrapes visible on his exposed skin. It was clear this trip had been extremely perilous.
Wu He didn’t hide it. “Seventeen stitches in my head, torn radial bone in my right arm, but at least I kept my life. Thanks to Master Chu’s Purple Thunder Talisman, or we might not have made it back.”
Wu He spoke the truth. The two masters who went with him were still in the ICU, and the number of martyred armed police officers was countless. He deeply regretted not inviting Chu Yi for the sake of the other masters’ pride. He felt that if Chu Yi had gone, the casualties might not have been so heavy.
“Director Wu, is this the Master Chu who made the Purple Thunder Talisman?” At that moment, a man and a woman emerged from a back room. Having overheard Wu He, they both showed surprised expressions.
“Yes.” Wu He rallied his spirits. “Let me introduce you. This is Master Chu. These two are Master Chen Jin Sheng from the Lingnan Chen Family and his daughter, Chen Ying.”
Chu Yi saw the injuries on Master Chen and his daughter and knew they had been on the same mission.
